Chapter 86 - Chapter 86 The Ninth Game (Part Eleven)

The Red Team did not know the pain of the Yellow Team and the Blue Team; not only did they not know, they were even delighted.

During their turn to rest, when Mu Anqi was on watch, she caught an unlucky ghost. Before executing this ghost, Mu Anqi seriously asked her teammates: if one passes the level but their teammates do not, will the whole team still have survival points?

The ghost, forced to accept a Guansi, shook its head with tears. Having gotten the answer she wanted, Mu Anqi mercilessly blew its head off, harvesting another survival point. By now, her survival points had reached 22.

"If Sheng Wujie never passes and never dies… then that means 17 survival points come in every day. Occasionally killing a ghost or two to top it up, reaching 50 survival points isn't hard at all. Done in three days?" Mu Anqi did the math and was shocked herself. Could a survival game like Eternal Night Forest… actually end this quickly? Even if she wanted to push for 100 points, at this rate she wouldn't even last until the seventh day!

Mu Anqi became cheerful again. But then again, ever since she handed out the red envelope last time, those familiar ghosts had all disappeared. The one that attacked this time was also a stranger. Could it be a shift change? Or did that bunch really go off to torment Sheng Wujie? Mu Anqi didn't know what was happening over there, but it wasn't really important anyway. This was fine too— new ghosts weren't aware of her infamy, their strength wasn't great, and those that tried to suddenly scare her to squeeze out emotional points would only end up being headshot by her and turned into survival points. That was a good thing.

Watching the countdown for the treasure chest refresh get closer and closer, after a short rest, the Red Team members, fully recharged, geared up and set off. As usual, the younger sister stayed behind to guard the base, while Mu Anqi and Fang Xunjiu took the lead. Fang Xunjiu pulled out a large stack of "Good Person Cards" from his chest and counted them, then looked at Mu Anqi and timidly made a request: "Let me make the first move, okay? Otherwise I feel like I'm just a tag-along, and that won't do."

Although Mu Anqi felt that being a tag-along wasn't really a bad thing, seeing Fang Xunjiu insist, she nodded: "Fine, you make the first move. Go block the Yellow Team and the Blue Team members, use the Good Person Cards to stop them!"

Just as she spoke, the notification sound rang out—the supply chest had refreshed!

"???" Feeling targeted, Mu Anqi stared at the refresh point on the map, at least a thousand meters away from her, and felt completely deflated. "Go!"

Damn it, why didn't it "randomly" refresh inside the Yellow Team's or Blue Team's base? They had even deliberately moved closer to the forest center!

Xia Yun would definitely be able to get there first, but letting Xia Yun fight two teams alone—wasn't that just too inhumane? As her teammate, she had to follow up right away!

"I—I got it…" Mu Anqi ran herself half to death, her whole body in misery. She hadn't even reached the battlefield yet, but was already about to be defeated by the sheer distance. "I still… still need some kind of transport… transport item…"

The main thing was, this type of game hadn't existed before—who could have expected it? Mu Anqi was utterly despairing.

The days of physical training at the General's Mansion were finally showing their effect. If it had been the old Mu Anqi, running a thousand meters in one breath would have left her half dead. But now? After a thousand meters, although her speech wasn't as smooth or steady as before, she could still keep running another thousand.

Fang Xunjiu also deeply regretted it. If he had known… he would have let his little sister come instead.

By the time Mu Anqi, exhausted, reached the supply point, she was already half resigned—thinking that even if they only arrived in time to see the Yellow Team or Blue Team walking away with the chest on their shoulders, she would accept it. This damn game was just too cruel. Even Xia Yun alone couldn't fight off two whole teams!

However, when she reached the supply point, the chest icon on the map still hadn't disappeared. Mu Anqi took a moment to steady her breathing, making sure she could pronounce the blessing words clearly in a moment, before slowly moving closer. As for Fang Xunjiu…

Uh, this male player who had sworn up and down that he would use his Good Person Cards to restrain the enemy was already exhausted to the point of collapse. If not for the sake of face, he would have sprawled on the ground in a big "大" shape, gasping for breath with his tongue hanging out. Fang Xunjiu forced himself to steady his breathing, took two slow steps forward, then with great effort pulled a bottle of water from his backpack, gulped down a few mouthfuls, and only then hurriedly picked up his big stack of Good Person Cards and chased after her.

The Yellow Team and… the Blue Team, why were they fighting?

Mu Anqi stood to the side. The Yellow Team's magical macho man's muscles bulged beneath his frilly pink lace dress, which fluttered in the wind. He kept letting out short, cutesy shouts like "Hey!" and "Ha!", raising his hand to launch star-shaped magic bullets, waving his hand to send out moonlight blasts. The cheerful BGM unique to a magical girl resounded, with pink bubbles and sparkles floating all around him. It could be said that the magical macho man seemed to exist on an entirely different dimension from the other players.

"F*ck you, you disgusting shut-in otaku! Today I'll represent the moon and wipe out this sickening trash!" The Blue Team's agility-maxed player was utterly nauseated. At first, they had indeed thought about cooperating. But who would have thought that upon reaching the treasure chest, they wouldn't even see a shadow of the Red Team—only for the Yellow Team to show up.

The two teams faced off, glanced at the two ghosts guarding the chest, then glanced at each other—before simultaneously striking to kill the ghosts.

"Peace, peace! Let us have the chest this time, next time it's yours! Fair…"

"This time we take it, next time you take it!"

Maybe the Red Team had already cleared, leaving only their two teams. Fairness? Taking turns? Who the hell would believe that! Once the Red Team was gone, there was no reason to cooperate—they were opponents!

The negotiations broke down, and both sides immediately prepared to fight. The magical macho man was the first to transform. This time, without Mu Anqi interfering, his transformation succeeded perfectly. The moment it ended, he blew a flying kiss at the agility player: "Good brother~ let me have the chest, okay~"

And that wasn't even the scariest part—the scariest part was that the flying kiss was exactly like in an anime! A huge red heart actually appeared! Thrown together with the macho man's flirtatious gaze, it flew straight toward the agility player. The agility player was utterly disgusted, but the worst part was that the kiss was actually targeted—locked on him! He couldn't escape and was forced to watch as the pink heart drew close, then exploded against his body in an instant, scattering into countless pink sparkles that rained down—

With no killing power whatsoever, but the humiliation was extreme.

The agility player almost threw up all the sweet potatoes he'd eaten that day.

And so, the Yellow Team and the Blue Team went at each other.

The magical macho man kept going "biu~ biu~ biu~" as he fired pink hearts, firmly locking the entire Blue Team's hatred onto himself. According to their plan, he alone would hold the aggro while his teammates seized the chest—after all, the ghosts were already dead, so grabbing it meant profit. But neither team had flying skills, nor teleportation skills. Trying to snatch the chest right under the Blue Team's nose? Even if they puked up yesterday's sweet potatoes, they would never let the disgusting Yellow Team succeed!

"Disgusting! Despicable! Using tricks like that—you're not even human! Shameless!"

"Good brother~ don't say such things to me~ you'll break my heart~~~"

"Ughhh—"

Who could have imagined, after all that rushing over, they would end up witnessing a scene like this? Who had ever seen something this outrageous? Mu Anqi certainly hadn't.

This Yellow Team tactic… she had never even heard of such a thing.

Hugging a stack of Good Person Cards, Fang Xunjiu's face had gone green. He hesitated, suddenly feeling that maybe he shouldn't step in and disturb the battle. Mu Anqi looked around in the sky and once again spotted Xia Yun perched atop the treetop of a tall tree, watching the show.

Uh… was sword-heart ability's sword-flight supposed to be used like that? Mu Anqi cast a rather resentful glance at Xia Yun up there. Why hadn't that woman said she'd take her along? The view from above was so much better!

The Blue Team and Yellow Team were fighting fiercely, all sorts of bizarre skills bursting out one after another. Holding to the idea of "know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated," Mu Anqi and her group carefully observed to confirm the players' skills. For example, the Yellow Team's only female player—her skills looked utterly ordinary, but at the critical moment she suddenly pulled out a huge black inflatable hammer from who-knows-where. Written on the hammer were the words "1000T." With one smash, she directly flattened the Blue Team player who had picked up the chest, leaving him unable to get back up again.

Seeing that the Yellow Team was about to successfully seize the chest, Mu Anqi quickly shoved Fang Xunjiu: "Go! Go hand out the cards!"

Fang Xunjiu grabbed a handful of Good Person Cards and suddenly scattered them out: "Thank you, you're a good person!" Then he lit up his own [Good People Are Rewarded] luck-boosting buff.

The magical macho man, still spinning flamboyantly while bombarding the Blue Team with magic stars, suddenly got a face full of Good Person Cards. In the next instant, his gaze toward the suddenly appearing Fang Xunjiu completely changed. And he wasn't the only one hit—he had been tangled up with the agility player, so when the cards rained down, that Blue Team agility player also froze, and suddenly found Fang Xunjiu pleasing to the eye.

"Wishing you prosperity in business. Wishing you wealth and honor in full bloom. Wishing you double happiness in good fortune. Wishing you a long life and blessings. Wishing you abundance year after year. Wishing you peace year after year. Wishing you—" The merciless blessing machine went online. Mu Anqi's mouth worked at lightning speed, throwing a blessing at each member of the two teams. With candy cane in hand, she blasted open a path with scalding syrup, and in the next moment Xia yun summoned a sword formation that enveloped all the players near the chest.

"Damn it!—" Whether it was the Yellow Team or the Blue Team, all of them exploded in frustration. "Why the hell haven't you cleared yet?!"

While these players were under Mu Anqi's control, Fang Xunjiu, moving with lightning speed, stuffed each of them with a handful of Good Person Cards. The moment their movements ceased, Fang Xunjiu pressed his palms together and bowed toward them: "A good person sees it through to the end."

Whether it was the Yellow Team or the Blue Team players, in that instant, all of their emotions were stripped away. The searing rage from just a moment before vanished instantly. Expressionless, they watched as Xia Yun descended on her sword, scooped up the supply chest with a single stroke, and flew away. They watched silently, neither joy nor sorrow in their hearts, as the words "I am a good person" looped endlessly in their minds, like a demonic chant echoing in their ears.

In that short single minute, they watched the three members of the Red Team leave in style. They watched the guy who handed out the Good Person Cards wave his hand, flashing a grin that revealed a mouthful of white teeth. They watched…

They watched until the Red Team disappeared from sight.

In that one minute, the Yellow Team and Blue Team players were emptied of all worldly desire. They gazed calmly at each other, as though in the very next instant they might ascend together to immortality.
