Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Name of the Wind

The silence in the chamber lingered.

But it was no longer heavy.

It had changed.

Elian stood still, his breathing slowly returning to normal. Yet something inside him… felt different.

Not stronger in a simple way.

Not faster.

But deeper.

Like something had awakened.

Lyra watched him carefully.

"…you look weird."

Elian let out a small breath.

"…I feel weird."

Kael stepped closer, his eyes fixed on Elian—not with curiosity, but with certainty.

"…then you saw it."

Elian nodded slowly.

"…I saw the truth."

A brief silence passed.

"…and?" Kael asked.

Elian looked at his hand.

"…I've been doing it wrong this whole time."

Lyra frowned.

"…doing what wrong?"

Elian closed his eyes for a moment.

"…I thought the wind was helping me."

The air around him shifted slightly.

"…but it wasn't."

He opened his eyes again.

"…it was waiting."

Kael's gaze sharpened.

"…go on."

Elian raised his hand slowly.

"…the wind doesn't guide me…"

A pause.

"…it answers me."

Silence.

For the first time—

Even this place reacted.

A faint movement passed through the air.

Impossible.

Because inside this chamber—

Elements were not supposed to exist.

Lyra stepped back slightly.

"…wait… I can feel that…"

Kael didn't move.

"…so you've reached it," he said quietly.

Elian frowned.

"…reached what?"

Kael looked directly at him.

"…the beginning of a name."

Elian's heart skipped.

"…a name?"

Kael nodded.

"In this world," he said,

"power is not just control."

A pause.

"It is recognition."

Elian listened carefully.

"When you understand something completely…" Kael continued,

"…you learn its name."

The air around them grew still.

"And when you know its name…"

A faint shift.

"…you don't control it."

Another shift.

"…you become one with it."

Elian's chest tightened.

"…so the wind…"

Kael nodded.

"…has a name."

Silence.

Elian slowly looked around.

For the first time—

He wasn't trying to hear it.

He wasn't waiting for it.

He wasn't asking.

He simply—

Reached.

Not outward.

But inward.

The air trembled.

Lyra's eyes widened.

"…that's not possible…"

A soft current moved through the chamber.

Gentle.

Yet undeniable.

Kael narrowed his eyes slightly.

"…say it."

Elian froze.

"…what?"

"The name," Kael said.

Elian's heart pounded.

"…I don't know it…"

The wind—no—

Something within him whispered.

"…you do…"

A single word formed in his mind.

Not learned.

Not heard.

But remembered.

Elian opened his eyes.

"…Aeris…"

The moment the word left his lips—

The chamber shook.

CRACK.

The stillness shattered.

Wind exploded outward from Elian's body, spiraling violently through the room despite the laws that should have stopped it.

Lyra stumbled back.

"…WHAT—?!"

The pillars trembled.

The air roared.

And for the first time—

The chamber—

Broke its own rule.

Kael's eyes widened slightly.

"…so that's it…"

Elian stood at the center of it all.

The wind no longer whispered.

It responded.

Fully.

"…Aeris…" he repeated.

The wind surged again—

stronger.

clearer.

alive.

Not outside him.

But with him.

Lyra stared in shock.

"…you're literally bending the rules of this place…"

Elian looked at his hand.

"…no…"

A small breath.

"…I'm just being myself."

Kael turned away slightly.

"…then your training truly begins now."

Elian looked at him.

"…that wasn't training?"

Kael smirked faintly.

"…that was survival."

The wind circled Elian gently.

Not guiding.

Not protecting.

But acknowledging.

"…you have spoken the name…"

A pause.

"…now you must prove you are worthy of it…"

Elian clenched his fist slightly.

"…then let's not waste time."

Far beyond the chamber—

Far beyond the sky—

Something shifted.

Not reacting.

But noticing.

Because now—

Elian wasn't just a target.

He was becoming a threat.
