*Kala POV*
Or at least Kala thought they parted ways as suddenly, the entire street got covered in gas and Poppy's voice called out, "Well that's all I needed out of you. You're going to work as a hostage now, alright?"
Kala didn't get a chance to defend herself as she lost consciousness. Poppy then picked her up and went into the sewers, where she'd put her in a cell in a very hidden place.
*Hirune POV*
She recovered easily enough after a good five minutes. After all she'd already gone through this once before, so she handled it better than before, though this reminded her of Tundra and Ellen and now she found herself wondering how they were doing in Medio. She pushed that thought away though as it wasn't like Mr. Comedian knew anything about that.
She stood up and followed Mr. Comedian as they kept exploring the eerie place, the char filling their lungs as they walked around. Eventually they found themselves looking down at a staircase that went deeper into the dome, the thing was that these stairs were too convenient as they were in the middle of the entire thing.
'This is too convenient, which means someone knows we're here... but, if someone knows we're here then...' Hirune quickly pushed Mr. Comedian away as lighting struck next to where he stood.
"Dammit! I missed again," A voice said from behind them.
It was a hooded figure so they couldn't see their face, but they were pointing at them with electricity sizzling their finger. Right next to them stood another hooded person, but this person was leaning on a large folding fan.
"Don't worry big bro! I'll take care of these two, trust," the second figure said as they stood up and started walking towards them.
Hirune quickly got her revolver out and shot at the person further back before devouring herself onto the roof of a nearby building. Before they could react to her movement, she reloaded her revolver with bullets made out of the devourer's jaws energy and shot three of them at the person with the fan and three at the person with lighting fingers. These bullets connected and proceeded to devour the entire area they struck.
This still proved ineffective as the two of them regenerated, vines coming out of their injuries and repairing their bodies. Mr. Comedian quickly threw some of the same purple gas orbs he'd used to get past the security guards at them, but the fanned person quickly opened their fan and blew them away with a swift flick of it. Thinking fast, he made a bunch of flesh-eating pigeons come out of his sleeve to eat them, but the fanned person managed to cut them to shred with a strong wind gust that Mr. Comedian wouldn't have been able to dodge if it wasn't for the shadow jester.
'Shit! They have a good defense and decent offense! Come on think of something!' Hirune kept on teleporting around and thinking of a way to beat the duo while lighting struck all around her. '
"Snake," a large snake came out of her shadow and slithered unpredictably towards the lighting user. Using the fact that he was distracted, Hirune attempted to sneak attack the one with the fan, but as she did, she was directly struck in the back by a powerful lightning bolt.
"You really thought I could only make lighting come from the clouds?" The lightning user said as electricity circulated around their entire arm.
Hirune laid on the ground trying to catch her breath as she felt the shock throughout her entire body, her lungs burning with a heat nearly as incredible as the pyromaniacs back in Medio, and her back ached with a numb feeling right behind her shoulders as smoke came off of her.
Enraged by this, Mr. Comedian rubbed his back as he felt a fraction of Hirune's pain and started throwing everything he had at them before calling out, "Francois!"
A mirror appeared above him, then a girl with long silver hair and emerald, green eyes started pulling herself out of it, "I see you've called for me, what is it you want? I'd rather not get my favorite dress sullied."
"Wand form! Now!" He told the girl as she sighed and turned into a magician's wand with a playing cards pattern on it, each playing card having either a rabbit or pigeon on it.
The two hooded figures felt their hearts drop as they simultaneously said, "A Living Weapon Shift artifact?!"
The person with the fan quickly sun around creating a tornado and sent it towards Mr. Comedian. This tornado sucked Hirune into it, but Mr. Comedians shadow jester seamlessly leaped through it and pulled her out of it as the lighting one electrified the tornado.
Mr. Comedian swished the wand and wished for swords with cherry blossoms, the wand then proceeded to glow gold and turn into a bronze color with the two previously white tips turning soft pink as dozens upon dozens of blades and cherry blossoms manifested behind him. The cherry blossoms proceeded to spin the tornado in the opposite direction and the swords continued out their task of impaling the hooded figures until not even their mother could recognize them.
Vines came out of the ground and took away the hooded figures, which annoyed Mr. Comedian considering they were the same vines that healed the two, but he had more important matters to attend to that didn't include following the duo. He rushed to where his jester hid Hirune with Francois in hand and made an illusion that she'd heal, though this illusion would only last as long as Francois stayed in the real world and out of her little mirror realm.
Hirune was surprised by the effects of this illusion. One moment she was on the verge of passing out and possibly dying with blood trickling out of her mouth and the next she felt as though she was as good as new.
"How'd you do that?" She asked as she stared at the wand. As she stared, the wand returned to its original form and leaned on Mr. Comedians back. She was wearing a white button-up long sleeves shirt with frills at the sleeves and neck area, a corset making it seem puffier than it is, and a long and large black plated skirt. She also had a bit of jewelry on, each piece of it having an emerald embedded in it.
Francois stared at Hirune for a solid second and glared, "Don't you dare try to take Mr. Comedian away from me, he's mine."
Hirune's heart skipped a beat, but she simply nodded with a small smile, "I won't, I promise. I didn't think of him like that in the first place."
Mr. Comedian cleared his throat, "Sorry about Francois, she gets like that sometimes. As for how she did that, it's just an illusion. So, for now, Francois, as you know, you can't go back into your mirror realm until we find proper treatment for Hirune."
Francois walked over to Hirune and leaned the back of her head on her shoulder while facing towards Mr. Comedian, "Alright, I'll at least try to get along with her then."
Hirune looked down at Francois and agreed, though she wasn't sure what she was trying to do, one moment she was telling her to back off and to not go after Mr. Comedian romantically and the next she was leaning on her as if they were close friends.
