Chapter 19: Training for the War Ahead
Morning came quietly.
Too quietly.
As if the world didn't know what had happened the night before.
Sunlight slowly entered through the broken window.
Falling gently across the разрушed room.
Everything looked calm.
But nothing was normal anymore.
Meera's eyes slowly opened.
For a moment—
She forgot everything.
But then—
The memories came rushing back.
The fight.
The power.
The choice.
Her hand instantly moved to her wrist.
The mark was still there.
Faint…
But alive.
"…So it wasn't a dream," she whispered.
"You're finally awake."
Meera turned quickly.
Arjun stood near the window.
Watching outside.
"…How long was I asleep?" she asked.
"Long enough," he replied.
Meera slowly stood up.
Her body still weak—
But better than before.
"…What now?" she asked.
Arjun turned toward her.
His expression serious.
"Now…"
"…you train."
Meera blinked.
"Train?"
Arjun nodded.
"If you want to survive what's coming…"
"You need to control your power."
Meera looked down at her hands.
She remembered how it felt.
That power.
Wild.
Uncontrollable.
"…And if I can't?" she asked quietly.
Arjun didn't hesitate.
"You won't get a second chance."
Silence.
The truth was harsh.
But real.
Meera took a deep breath.
"…Then teach me."
Arjun's eyes met hers.
For a second—
He said nothing.
Then—
He nodded.
"Follow me."
They stepped outside.
The air felt fresh.
Calm.
Too calm for what was about to begin.
They walked a short distance—
Away from everything.
Until they reached an open ground.
Empty.
Perfect.
"This is where we start," Arjun said.
Meera looked around.
"…What do I do?"
Arjun turned toward her.
"First…"
"Stop thinking of your power as something separate."
Meera frowned slightly.
"What do you mean?"
Arjun stepped closer.
"It's not something you control."
"It's something you are."
Meera's eyes widened slightly.
"…Like he said…"
Arjun noticed her hesitation.
"Don't confuse his words with truth," he said firmly.
"He wants you to lose control."
"I want you to understand it."
Meera nodded slowly.
"…Okay."
Arjun stepped back.
"Close your eyes."
She hesitated—
But did it.
The world around her faded.
"Now…"
"Feel it."
Meera focused.
At first—
Nothing.
Then slowly—
A faint warmth.
Deep inside her.
"…I feel something…" she whispered.
"Good," Arjun said.
"Don't force it."
"Let it come to you."
The warmth grew slightly stronger.
Not painful.
Not wild.
Just… there.
"…It's different," Meera said.
Arjun nodded.
"Because this time…"
"You're not afraid of it."
Meera's breathing slowed.
The energy began to flow gently.
For the first time—
It didn't feel like it was fighting her.
It felt… calm.
"I can control it…" she whispered.
"Not yet," Arjun corrected.
"But you're starting."
Suddenly—
A sharp surge ran through her body.
Meera gasped.
Her eyes snapped open.
The energy flared instantly.
Stronger again.
Unstable.
"I lost it!" she shouted.
Arjun stepped forward quickly.
"Focus!"
"Don't panic!"
Meera tried to steady herself.
Her breathing uneven.
"It's slipping again!"
The ground beneath her cracked slightly.
Energy leaking out.
Arjun grabbed her shoulders.
"Look at me!"
She did.
"Breathe," he said firmly.
"Just breathe."
Meera followed.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Slowly—
The energy calmed again.
The cracks stopped spreading.
The glow faded.
Silence returned.
Meera collapsed to her knees.
Panting.
"…This is harder than I thought…"
Arjun stepped back.
"It will get worse before it gets better."
Meera let out a small, tired laugh.
"Great…"
But then—
She looked up.
Determined.
"…Let's try again."
Arjun paused for a moment.
Then—
A small, almost invisible smile appeared.
"…Good."
Far away—
Hidden in darkness—
The same glowing eyes watched silently.
"…She's learning faster than expected," the voice murmured.
A shadow moved beside it.
"Should we stop her?"
The figure smiled faintly.
"No…"
"Let her grow."
Its eyes glowed brighter.
"It will make breaking her… much more satisfying."
