Chapter 45 - The Edge of No Return

Chapter 45: Beyond the Breaking Point

The sky was no longer stable.

It cracked.

Not like thunder—

But like reality itself was tearing apart.

The battlefield had changed.

No ground.

No direction.

Only fragments of space floating in darkness.

And at the center—

Meera.

Floating.

Breathing slowly.

Her body glowing faintly.

But something was wrong.

Her energy—

Wasn't just strong anymore.

It was unstable again.

Not chaotic like before—

But too powerful to contain.

"…You finally reached it," the figure said.

Its voice echoed from everywhere.

And nowhere.

"…The breaking point beyond limits."

Meera didn't respond.

Her eyes were half-open.

Her mind—

Somewhere else.

Between control…

And collapse.

"I can feel it…" she whispered.

"…It's too much…"

Her hands trembled.

Energy leaked from her fingertips—

Cracking the space around her.

"…If I lose control now…"

"…everything will disappear."

The figure appeared in front of her.

Closer than ever before.

Not attacking.

Just watching.

"…That's the truth you've been running from," it said softly.

"…Power without limit…"

"…comes with a price."

Meera's breathing became uneven.

Her power surged again.

The fragments of space around her began to shatter.

"…You can't hold it," the figure continued.

"…No one can."

For a moment—

It felt like everything would end.

Then—

A voice.

Faint.

But real.

"…Meera."

Her eyes flickered.

"…Arjun…"

He stood far away—

Barely able to move.

But still there.

Still watching her.

"…You don't have to carry it alone," he said.

Meera shook her head weakly.

"…I have to…"

"…This is my power…"

"…My responsibility…"

The figure tilted its head.

"…And your destruction."

Suddenly—

The pressure increased.

Everything around her started collapsing faster.

Meera gasped.

Her control slipping again.

"…I can't—"

"YES, YOU CAN!" Arjun shouted.

His voice cut through everything.

"…You're not alone anymore!"

Silence.

Just for a second.

Meera's expression changed.

Slightly.

"…Not… alone…" she whispered.

Her grip tightened.

Her energy—

Still wild—

But reacting differently now.

Not rejecting.

Not exploding.

Responding.

"…I don't need to suppress it…"

"…I don't need to fear it…"

The figure's eyes narrowed.

"…What are you doing…?"

Meera slowly closed her eyes.

Her breathing steadied.

"…I just need to accept it."

Everything went silent.

Completely.

Then—

Light exploded outward.

Not violent.

Not destructive.

But overwhelming.

Pure.

Balanced.

The collapsing space—

Stopped.

The cracks—

Froze in place.

The chaos—

Disappeared.

The figure stepped back.

For the first time—

Genuinely shocked.

"…You…"

"…balanced it?"

Meera opened her eyes.

Different.

Calm.

Stronger than ever before.

Her power no longer leaking.

No longer unstable.

Perfect.

"…This is my power," she said quietly.

"…And I control it."

The entire space responded to her presence.

As if it recognized her.

Accepted her.

The figure stared at her in silence.

Then—

It smiled.

But not like before.

This time—

With respect.

"…So this is your true awakening."

Meera stepped forward.

No hesitation.

No fear.

"…Now…"

Her voice calm—

But final.

"…it ends."

The final phase had begun.
