Lina stood in front of the old warehouse at the edge of town, staring at the large metal door as the wind moved her hair across her face. The place looked abandoned, like no one had been there for years. Broken windows, cracked walls, and rust on the door made the building look like something from a horror movie.
"This is the place," Victor said as he pushed the metal door open with a loud noise that echoed inside.
Lina hesitated before walking in. "You're sure no one comes here?"
Victor nodded. "No one. That's why we can train."
"Train…" Lina repeated quietly. She still couldn't believe that her life had changed so fast. A few days ago, she was just a normal girl going to school. Now she was training with a hunter, two vampires, and learning that her blood had some kind of power.
As she walked inside, she saw Lucas sitting on a wooden box, playing with a small knife like he was bored. Adrian was standing near a broken window, looking outside, always serious and quiet.
"You're late," Lucas said without looking at them.
"We're not late," Victor replied. "You're early."
Lucas smiled. "I was curious. I wanted to see what the Blood Guardian can do."
Lina crossed her arms. "I told you, I don't know how to do anything."
Victor looked at her wrist where the mark was. "The mark says something else."
Adrian walked closer. "We should go slow. She's still learning."
Lucas jumped from the box and walked toward Lina slowly. "Or we go fast. Fast is more fun."
Lina rolled her eyes but she was nervous. Lucas always made her nervous. There was something unpredictable about him.
Victor walked to the center of the warehouse. "Lina, stand here."
She walked to the middle of the room and looked at all of them. "Okay… what now?"
Victor didn't answer immediately. Instead, he took a small knife from his pocket.
Adrian moved fast. "Victor. No."
"Relax," Victor said calmly. "It's just a small cut."
Before Lina could react, Victor gently took her hand and made a small cut on her finger. Lina felt a quick pain.
"Hey! You could at least warn me!" she said, holding her finger.
A drop of her blood fell on the dusty floor.
For a few seconds, nothing happened.
Then suddenly Lucas appeared in front of her so fast she didn't even see him move. His eyes were darker, and his face looked different, more like a predator than a human.
"Lucas," Adrian said in a warning voice.
Lucas was staring at Lina's blood like he was hypnotized. His breathing changed.
"Do you see?" Victor said. "Her blood is not normal."
Lucas looked like he was fighting himself. His hands were shaking slightly.
"Lucas, step back," Adrian said again.
Lucas stepped back slowly, breathing hard. "Her blood… it smells different. Stronger."
Lina looked at all of them. "Can someone explain why everyone is acting crazy because of my blood?"
Victor said, "Because your blood gives power to vampires."
Lina frowned. "Power? What kind of power?"
Victor looked at Lucas. "Drink."
Adrian immediately said, "No."
Lucas looked interested. "I want to try."
Lina stepped back. "Try what?!"
Victor looked at Lina. "We need to see what happens when a vampire drinks your blood."
"No," Adrian said again. "It's too dangerous."
Lucas looked at Lina and said quietly, "Your choice."
Lina's heart was beating fast. She was scared, but she also wanted answers.
"If this helps me understand what I am… then do it," she said quietly.
Adrian looked at her. "Lina, you don't know what you're doing."
"I'm tired of not knowing," she replied.
She looked at Lucas, her hand shaking a little. "Just… don't kill me."
Lucas walked slowly toward her. His eyes were on her neck. Lina felt like she couldn't move.
"Relax," Lucas whispered. "If I wanted to kill you, you'd already be dead."
"That's not very comforting," Lina said nervously.
Lucas leaned closer and then bit her neck.
Lina felt pain for a second, then something strange. It wasn't just pain. It felt like energy moving inside her body, like electricity in her veins.
Lucas suddenly stopped.
He stepped back quickly like something pushed him.
"What's wrong?" Adrian asked.
Lucas looked shocked. "I… I feel weak."
Victor looked very interested. "Weak?"
Lucas nodded slowly. "Her blood… it's not giving me power. It's taking my power."
Everyone became silent.
Lina touched her neck. "Taking your power?"
Victor smiled for the first time. "Now we understand."
"Understand what?" Lina asked.
Victor looked at her and said slowly:
"You are not here to give power to vampires."
He paused.
"You are here to control them."
Lina looked at him, shocked. "Control… vampires?"
Adrian looked at Lina like he was seeing her for the first time.
Lucas smiled slowly even if he still looked weak. "This is going to be very interesting."
Victor looked at Lina seriously. "From now on, your training becomes serious."
Lina sighed. "Great. Because my life wasn't complicated enough already."
Lucas laughed quietly. "Welcome to the supernatural world."
Victor looked at Lina's wrist again. "The mark on your wrist is very old. It belongs to a group called the Blood Guardians."
"Blood Guardians…" Lina repeated.
"They were humans," Victor explained, "but not normal humans. Their blood could control vampires, weaken them, and sometimes even command them."
Lina sat on a box, trying to understand everything. "So I'm not human?"
Victor replied, "You are human. But your blood is special."
Adrian added quietly, "Very special."
Lucas looked at Lina and said, "Do you know what this means?"
Lina looked at him. "No. But I'm sure you're going to tell me."
Lucas smiled. "It means everyone is going to want you. Vampires. Hunters. Werewolves. The Night Council."
Lina felt cold. "That's not good news."
Victor said, "That's why you must learn to fight. And control."
Lina looked at him. "Then teach me."
Victor nodded. "We start tomorrow."
That night, Lina wrote in her diary:
Dear Diary,Today Lucas drank my blood. And instead of becoming stronger… he became weak.Victor says I am a Blood Guardian.A human who can control vampires.I don't know if I should be scared… or powerful. But I know one thing. My life is not normal anymore. And I think… this is only the beginning.
