'How am I, someone with no knowledge about books, supposed to know what's valuable and what's not? Let me think...'
Silver calmly wandered the shop, silently analysing the spine of every book she came across. Her mind was whirring—any normal person would have overheated from the vast amount of information she was taking in. After two minutes had passed, she came to a sound conclusion.
'After looking at the spine of each and every book in this store, there are three distinct categories I can organise them into. There are single-coloured spines with nothing but the book's name in basic black lettering; spines with a design and the book's name in basic black lettering; and finally, spines with a design and the book's name in colourful, artistic lettering. Using my deductive reasoning, I can conclude that the spines with the most detail are worth the most. Luckily for me, there were only two books with colourful lettering and designs on their spines.'
Silver calmly made her way to the autobiography table, noticing Shin stuck in conversation as she passed.
'Now which one of these is the jackpot?' Silver asked herself.
'The 33rd Don is Aria's current leader, Noctis Vale, and he's more of a celebrity than any Don before him. People love him and the charisma he exudes—if anybody were to write a bestselling book about themselves, it'd be him. On the other hand, we have the 18th Don, Victor Von Pelt. From what I can remember, he ruled in the 1530s but didn't have much historical impact. I believe he was most well known for watching William Shakespeare's plays—nothing else, really. I guess the 33rd Don's book is more valuable then. Especially because there's a massive pile of the 18th Don's books hidden underneath the table, while there are only two of Noctis Vale's books left. How long do I have left?' she thought while picking up the book of Aria's current leader.
'Six whole minutes... That gives me an idea! I'm going to have to be quick, though—it looks like Shin's about done with those college students.'
Silver made sure to hide the extra copies of the 18th Don's books somewhere out of sight before heading towards a nearby couple.
"Hey, excuse me, guys," she said politely.
"Hi, how can we help you?" asked the boyfriend.
"I was just wondering if you guys could help me out really quickly. You see that blonde-haired boy in the stupid shirt and shorts talking to those college kids, right?"
"Yeah," answered the girlfriend.
"If he comes near here and starts looking at these two autobiographies on that table," she said, pointing at the table holding three autobiographies, "could you act like the one written by the 18th Don is super important and valuable? I would really appreciate it."
"A bit of a weird request, but yeah, I have no issues," replied the boyfriend.
"Sweet! Thank you guys a lot!" Silver said happily as she skipped away to the front desk, waiting for Shin to arrive
