It had been several days by this point and all of our heroes had met with
Merlin and learned much from him. In the case of Ungar and Mencius this was
nothing more than a reunion with Merlin. Merlin had explained several days prior
what the Great Evil and it was an evil that Ungar and Mencius had actually fought
before over 500 years ago. "Over 100,000,000 billion years ago this Universe was
very young and there were four Creators you might call them Deities though I
believe the term is far too simplistic, they were created by the Caterpillar himself to
protect the Cosmos. They were a great Bear, Turtle, Eagle and Wolf similar to those
found in Native-American religions. They were all sleeping until one day they
awoken by a great evil in the Celestial Heavens it was an evil known as Azathoth
the Destroyer who sought to destroy the entire world that was newly born the four
Deities battled this monster and defeated him he would one day come back as a
reincarnation of himself an evil being named Nyarlathotep or Lord Tep for short.
Countless eons later Lord Tep was finally strong enough to return and was
defeated by a group of seven heroes, King Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Sun-Wukong the
Monkey King, Tripitaka, Pigsy, Sandy and Daniel's father the Wind God, Ebisu.
After the seven heroes defeated Lord Tep he was once again like his former self
Azathoth sealed away for countless eons but the being would always return sooner
or later if he was not destroyed but up to this point there was no being strong
enough to destroy him and all that could be done up to this point was sealing him away.
Countless eons later Lord Tep struck again this time being defeated by a
Half-Demon named Phyrros who died over 500 years ago he with the help of his
comrades including Ungar and Mencius sealed the monster away again that was a
little over 500 years ago." Said Merlin.
"Wait so Ungar and Mencius both fought this creature?" said Daniel. "Yes."
Said Merlin. "That monster is back what happened dif erently this time why is it
that it took countless eons for him to return before but this time it took only 500
years?" said Ungar. "Well, he's getting a little help. Through my sources I've been
able to find out by who just recently. A misguided wealthy young man named
Vladimir Kosovich who lives in the great city of Crystallis. He is the current owner
of a multi-trillion-dollar company called Koso-Corp. and for reasons I still don't
understand is trying to locate the Book of the Dead the very Book that Lord Tep is
currently sealed in. If he gets that book, I fear there's no one alive in this world
today that can stop this monster. The first time the four Deities stopped him but
those four burned out like dying stars countless eons ago, then Ebisu stopped him
and he's now gone and Phyrros as I said left this world over Five centuries ago.
Perhaps the boy can stop him but we can't take that chance; honestly it was
nothing but luck that stopped that beast the last two times he was defeated." Said
Merlin. "We understand, we'll do what we can to make sure this guy doesn't get his
hands on this book." Said Daniel. "But where is this book?!" said Ungar.
"It's said that the Book of the Dead resides in the bowels of the Great Sunken City of Raley'h
which lies at the Bottom of the Great Sea." Said Merlin. "..." said Ungar.
Merlin had a vast library full of old spell books and old and ancient histories
They learned of Merlin's training room that inside time would last for a year but
outside only an hour would pass. The catch was the room could only be used by a
certain individual only 3 times a day so there was a 3-time limit for each person
each day. Which meant that each person collectively had at least over a dozen
opportunities to grow stronger in one day's time. Up to 10 people could train at
once but Ungar and Tatu wanted to train alone explaining they could go all out that
way and wouldn't have to hold back. Ungar and Tatu had already trained the max
three times that day and Mencius, Daniel, Athena and Oliver were in the room
right now training for the third and final time that day and were nearly ready to
continue their journey to find the Book of the Dead. Until a very powerful aura was
sensed it was Malum there was no mistaken it. It was decided that Malum would
confront the beast as Ungar had to stay behind briefly to talk to Merlin but he
would catch up to Tatu. So that was it Tatu took off.
"I can't wait to see this monster in his true form with my own eyes. I can
hardly contain my excitement now I'm finally strong enough to destroy him." Said
Tatu. When Tatu landed where the aura was in a small Quarry, he noticed the forest
on one edge of the Quarry had several bushes rumbling out of them flung a
Shuriken which was caught by Tatu. After this a Ninja jumped out of the brush and
tried to strike Tatu but failed the two were now facing each other. "How curious
you weren't who I expected. But you seem strong enough. You'll be a good warmup
for me." Said Tatu. "I don't know who you are Bug-Man but if you're with the Elf
than you're going to die. Nothing personal just orders." Said Zengi. "Well, I can't
believe I'm even saying this but if you want to kill the Elf, you'll have to get
through me first." Said Tatu. "Then I have no choice but to kill you myself." Said
Zengi. "Hehehe. You're welcome to try." Said Tatu.
As Tatu said this the two leaped into battle it was Human versus Wasp. The
Ninja came out swinging with his Katana at lightning speed but he couldn't land a
single strike let alone a killing blow on Tatu. The whole time Tatu was laughing;
"Is that all you can do to me, I guess I was wrong about you you're nothing more
than a worm!" said Tatu. After saying this Tatu leaped into the air and began to
reign waves of explosive energy from the heavens. Zengi leaped around at a
super-human level of speed as fast as he could to escape the deadly blasts of energy
from above. When he thought he was out of the woods, he felt a presence behind
him; "You can run but YOU CAN'T HIDE!" said Tatu. Tatu appeared behind him
landing a devastating body blow. With a single blow he punched the ninja through
at least three large rocky structures when the Ninja came out the other side he was
bleeding heavily. But he wasn't down for the count yet he split his body into 20 different versions of himself and attacked Tatu from all directions. "This cheap
Parlor Trick. I know only one of them is real." Said Tatu. "Is that so?" said Zengi.
As he said this Zengi landed several strikes with multiple forms and multiple
Katanas and now Tatu knew this was all too real. Tatu began to put some distance
between him and the Ninja clones he had to find a way to get the upper hand. As
time went on it became increasingly harder before he knew it over 30 minutes had
passed and was still engaged in this slog match with Zengi's clones. "There has to
be a way to exploit it. Wait a minute..." thought Tatu. Tatu noticed that small drafts
of air were moving around all of the clones but one this could not be seen by the
naked eye by most creatures but Tatu was a trained warrior and could see it clearly
if he concentrated he understand all he had to do was focus on the one without the
drafts of air this would be harder as the fight went on the number of clones grew
from 20 to over 200 but he leaped into action dodging the strikes of the other
Ninjas and then finally upon reaching the original Zengi launched a beam of
energy straight at him when his guard was lowered in an instant all of the false
version all 200 or so had disappeared and the original Zengi fell to the ground.
Zengi was in pain clutching the dirt. Just before Tatu did anything to him he heard
a voice. It was Malum.
"It's such a shame you failed Vladimir, Ninja. Now I have to finish you of
and clean up your mess. I hoped it wouldn't come to this. I hope you don't mind,
Bug-Man!" said Malum. "Go ahead I could care less." Said Tatu. In that moment
Malum was about to strike the wounded Zengi with his claws and fangs and
eliminate him but suddenly he disappeared. Tatu and Malum looked up it was
Ungar holding the unconscious Ninja. After this Ungar descended to ground level
still holding Zengi in his arm. "That was really stupid Tatu. If Malum wanted him
dead than he must be important." Said Ungar. "Fair enough. But try not to lecture
me for now on." Said Ungar. "Tatu can I ask you to step aside and let me fight this
beast." Said Ungar. "Sure thing. I got my mojo back fighting the Ninja I don't want
to ever know this but the little guy puts up quite a fight. So, no problem wizard this
freak is all yours." Said Tatu. "I appreciate it, here!" said Ungar. Ungar tossed
Zengi to Tatu. "If you could please bring him back to Merlin, we have a lot of
questions to ask him when he wakes up. If you hurry you can catch the fight." Said
Ungar. "Sounds good to me I'll drop of the Ninja and be back for the show just try
not to kill this one to quickly I want a little entertainment before this fight's over."
Said Tatu. As Tatu said this Malum began to cackle. "Do you really think Ungar
can defeat me know you fool?! It's only been a few days since I wiped the floor
clean with him." Said Malum. "I wouldn't be so sure. The Wizard's more than a
match for you now. You have no idea the training we've gone through. But that's
okay just be grateful I'm not the one fighting you.
Now that I mention though you'll
be dead either way!" said Tatu. Tatu flew off back to Merlin with Zengi in his arms laughing ominously as he went. "How do you?! I'll kill you Merlin, Cockroach!!!"
said Malum. But just as he said this Ungar interrupted him. "Not so fast. Aren't you
forgetting someone?" said Ungar. "Very well I fight you again you don't know
when to give up do you?!" said Malum. "Enjoy that feeling it won't last for long."
Said Ungar. "It's time I shut you up for good." Said Malum.
Ungar and Malum leaped into battle in a similar fashion to how Tatu and
Zengi had leaped into battle before. Ungar began shooting massive waves of
energy at Malum which Malum dodged but not as carelessly as he had done in his
last battle. "Something is dif erent about Ungar?! No, I must be seeing things."
thought Malum. In that moment Ungar was behind him; "Wake up sleeping
beauty." Said Ungar. And with a single strike Ungar launched Malum back into the
Earth. "It's not my imagination it's like the Wizard grew in strength 10 years in just
a few days. How is that even possible?! I'm not even sure if my copied abilities will
work. DAMN HIM!" thought Malum. "What's wrong?! Bit of a little more than
you can chew." Said Ungar. "...!!!" said Malum. The fight continued and this time
it was Malum on the defensive and the tables had completely turned. From below
Tatu had already returned after bringing Zengi to Merlin and was watching the
battle from below. "Just as I thought. The wizard should make quick work of this
fool." Thought Tatu. In the fight above the fight seemed to nearly be over when a
voice was heard in the distance it was Daniel. "Hey Ungar we're coming!" said
Daniel. "Daniel?!" said Ungar. "I can't kill the Elf for now so I have to escape.
This is my chance." Thought Malum. And with that he shot a burst of blinding
energy and when it faded, he was gone and there was no trace of him. "DAMN IT!
HE GOT AWAY!" said Ungar. Where did Malum go and why did he try to kill
Zengi? All will be explained in the next chapter.
