Lyra's POV
The door swung open without warning.
Jaxson strode inside as if he owned the space, his stride confident and calculated. He hadn't bothered to knock. His eyes swept across the room in one fluid motion, cataloging every face and stance before locking onto Kaelen with laser focus.
"Word reached me about the emissaries," he announced, his voice carrying an edge of urgency. "I dropped everything to get here. What's the situation?"
My attention shifted to him immediately. "They're here for me."
His eyebrow arched with practiced curiosity. "For you?"
"Daphne's facing judgment from the elder circle for her attack on me, along with her other transgressions," I explained, keeping my tone measured. "My presence is required for the proceedings."
