Kaelen's POV
She moved aside and opened the door wider. Then she raised one finger. "Only you come in."
Jaxson stepped forward immediately. His whole body went rigid. "I don't think so."
I pressed my hand against his chest and pushed him back. "Remember what you told me."
His jaw tightened. The muscle there pulsed and jumped. But he stepped away. His eyes stayed locked on the witch.
I walked past Ursula into the cottage. The door clicked shut behind me.
The inside looked exactly like I expected. Bundles of dried herbs dangled from the ceiling. Shelves covered every wall. They were crammed with jars and bottles. Some held liquids that glowed softly. Others contained things I couldn't name. A fire burned low in the fireplace. The flames threw moving shadows across the room.
