Lyra's POV
The genealogy volume felt like it weighed a thousand pounds in my hands. Much heavier than it should have been. I dragged it across to the nearest reading table where moonlight poured through the tall windows, mixing with the electric bulbs above to cast everything in silver and gold.
My fingers trembled slightly as I cracked it open. I needed to find the Bianca Moretti section. If Hera existed at all, it would have been during their reign, wouldn't it?
The pages rustled as I flipped through them, and there it was. Everything I was looking for laid out in faded ink.
