Lyra's POV
I needed to start investigating him. The realization crystallized in my mind as I forced down another flavorless bite. But approaching this required strategy. I couldn't simply demand to know if he had poisoned his own sister-in-law. That would be beyond foolish.
My attention shifted across the breakfast table. Seraphina moved her fork through her meal with practiced delicacy. The woman hadn't met my eyes since her earlier comment about soundproof walls.
Perhaps that connection could prove useful.
"Seraphina."
The younger woman's head jerked up immediately. Her fork suspended between plate and mouth. "Yes?"
"Would you be interested in helping me select dresses?"
Confusion flickered across Seraphina's features. "I don't understand."
