I kept quiet the whole ride back to his mansion. I was shaking and I couldn't wash the image of the woman burning to death while people were just watching with an amused look on their faces. I could not breathe and I was silently having a panic attack. I clutched onto the seat and bit my lower lip hard, hard enough that it drew blood.
The car came to a halt and Traiver got out of his car. He opened the door on my side and extended his hand. It was already past midnight here.
I glanced at his hand and up to his face. He has a stoic face yet his smirk betrayed him. I knew he felt ecstatic upon watching the scene earlier. Just like them, he's heartless.
My eyes swelled up. I accepted his hands and let him drag me out of the car. I stifled my cry and swallowed my sobs.
"You're shaking," he stated as we began walking inside the house.
I didn't reply.
I was still scared.
I was scared of him... and people like him.
I want to go home, curl in my bed, and tell my parents what I have experienced. I hope this is all just a nightmare. I wanna go home badly. I don't wanna be here anymore.
I didn't notice that we had arrived in my room. He just pushed me inside and left to do his stuff. The tears I tried to hold earlier finally escaped my eyes. I went towards the bathroom and took a quick shower. When I closed my eyes, I could remember the face of that woman before she was burned to death. Her hopeless cries, her begs, her pleas...
I remember it all.
I broke down and cried hard inside the shower room. My body was shaking so much and my heart was breaking literally. I am in danger. Soon, my fate will be like her. These vampires would kill me eventually after they find no use upon me. Traiver will surely kill me. After all, my parents were the reason behind his anguish and hatred towards humans.
Oh, God...
He will kill me... sooner or later.

I can't get up. I can't move. As if I was paralyzed. My body was sore and my insides were burning.
What is happening to me?
I tried to move my head, but to no avail.
I tried to find my voice, but none came out.
Fear was starting to engulf my system. The burning sensation was becoming more and more painful. My head was aching, as if wanting to break at any moment. My chest was heavy, as if a stone was hindering me from breathing.
I could feel my energy draining out from my body before I could even gain back my strength.
In the end, I felt myself fall into nothingness. My mind became blank, yet my body was suffering. Suffering from the scorching heat that was burning my insides.
Well, if this is death, then so be it...

"What happened to her?"
"I found her burning in fever inside her room when I came to deliver her breakfast, master. I tried to wake her up, but she's unconscious. She was nearly convulsing."
"What should we do, then? She can't die yet."
"It would be much better if we brought her to the hospital, couz. Her fever is not a simple fever. She's convulsing."
"No. No one's gonna bring her to the hospital."
"Master, but she's going to die if we don't bring her."
"I agree with her. She needs to be taken care of by the doctors. Remember, she's not one of us, Traiver. She could die at any moment now."
A long pause followed.
"My decision is firm. She's not going to the hospital. Eliza, call some doctors and let them go here instead. I don't trust hospitals."
"Tsk. I swear, if she died, you'd regret it, couz."
"Whatever."

I woke up again. But this time I was able to open my eyes and took in my surroundings. I groaned and shifted on the bed. My sore body makes sounds of cracks from the stiffness. I don't know how long I slept.
I looked down on my hands and saw an IV plastered above my hand. My brows furrowed. I slowly get up and sat down. My head was a bit spinning and aching.
The door gently opened and Eliza came in holding a tray.
When our eyes met, she gasped and widened her eyes.
"Lady Navelle!" she exclaimed.
I smiled at her weakly. "E-Eliza... what's happening?"
She rushed in and put the tray on the bedside table before she faced me.
"How are you, lady Navelle? Are you alright? How are you feeling?"
"I-I'm fine... but what happened?"
"You got sick."
"Oh, really?" I asked and heaved a sigh, my whole body was aching.
"Yes. You had a high fever. Anyway, hold on a second. I'll call the doctor to inform you of your situation. I'll be back."
She went out of the room and went back with a doctor following behind her.
The male doctor smiled at me. "Glad that you have gained back your consciousness. How are you?"
"I'm fine, doc. Though, my body is quite sore and stiff. My throat stings, too."
"It is quite normal after having a high fever and sleeping for a few days. It would be much better if you lay back down as I check on you. Is it alright?"
I nodded my head. Eliza helped me to lay back down on the bed. She adjusted my pillow and made sure I'm comfortable before she stepped aside.
"Okay, so I would only ask a few questions, ms. Navelle."
"Yes, doc..."
"What did you do from the past few days before you got sick?"
I thought of it for a moment, trying to remember what exactly I did from the past days before I got a fever.
"Hmm, nothing much. All I did was go to the garden and eat."
"How about the day before you got sick?"
I tried to remember what happened that day. "I was... I was in the garden and talked with Rasheb. After that... Traiver came and we argued. I-I remember crying because he burned my rose. Then, I slept. When I woke up I cried again because they were forcing me to take a bath even though I've already told them that I won't be taking a bath... then... then..." A memory flashed through my head. Tears immediately swelled up from the corner of my eyes.
"What happened?"
I shook my head and bit my lower lip.
"It's okay, I won't force you to tell me," the doctor said reassuringly and smiled gently. "Anyway, I've examined your blood and it shows you didn't have any illness. I concluded that the sole reason for your sudden sickness was because of stress. You might be too stressed these days, and based on your reaction when you told me about your day before you lost your consciousness, it might be one of the reasons that got you too stressed. Don't worry, I will give you some medicines to help you relieve the stress and to keep you healthy. I would also take further examination of your blood."
"Thank you so much, doctor," said Eliza. The doctor nodded his head before he got out of the room.
We fell into deafening silence. Tears rolled down on my cheeks as all events flashed through my head. The last thing I knew, I was, again, crying.
