Author's POV
Three years ago, Drake Caesar vanished from the Kingdom of Elarion without a trace.
No farewell.
No explanation.
No warning.
To the people of Elarion, he had once been a symbol of greatness—an Earth Elementarist gifted with the rare ability to command all five elements: fire, water, air, lightning, and earth itself. He was not only powerful, but trusted… respected… even loved.
Most of all, he was a brother to the four masters of the Elemental Academy—Master Josh of fire, Master Jayden of lightning, Norah of air, and Rumi of water.
But something inside Drake had changed.
Power was no longer enough.
He wanted more.
More strength.
More control.
More dominance.
He wanted to stand above everyone.
That hunger led him down a dark and dangerous path—one that took him far from Elarion and into the shadows of forbidden magic.
There, he found Cassius.
A name whispered in fear.
A sorcerer feared even among the most powerful beings.
Cassius did not just teach magic—he corrupted it.
And Drake… became his greatest creation.
Under Cassius' guidance, Drake unlocked powers never meant to be controlled. His connection to the elements twisted into something darker, something unnatural. The balance within him shattered, replaced by ambition and cold determination.
And with that transformation came a new belief—
Elarion was weak.
King Reginald was weak.
Mercy was weakness.
Unity… was a mistake.
And so, after three long years, Drake returned—not as a hero…
But as a conqueror.
The night of his return felt wrong.
Unnaturally wrong.
The air was heavy, suffocating, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
The usual songs of the night were gone. No birds chirped in the trees.
No insects hummed in the darkness.
Even the wind seemed to have disappeared.
Above, the sky was empty.
No stars.
No moonlight.
Only darkness.
It was as though the heavens themselves refused to witness what was about to happen.
Inside the Elemental Academy, life continued peacefully.
Students filled the dormitories, laughing, chatting, reading, and playing games. Some practiced small spells, others shared stories of their dreams and ambitions.
They had no idea…
That this would be the last peaceful night they would ever know.
Without warning—
The palace gates exploded open.
A thunderous crash shook the entire kingdom as Drake and his army stormed into Elarion.
Dark figures poured into the palace like a flood of shadows. At their head stood Drake and Cassius, their presence alone enough to send fear through even the strongest hearts.
Drake raised his hand slowly.
Flames ignited instantly, swirling around his fingers like living creatures.
With a single motion—
He hurled the fire toward the grand chandelier.
It shattered on impact, exploding into a storm of burning glass and sparks that rained down across the hall.
The explosion echoed through every corridor of the palace.
Screams followed.
Guards rushed in, weapons drawn, but they were unprepared for the force they faced.
One by one… they fell.
Some were struck down by dark magic.
Others were consumed by flames.
The once-proud protectors of Elarion were reduced to lifeless bodies within moments.
Blood stained the marble floors.
Chaos spread like wildfire.
And at the center of it all stood Drake Caesar
Calm. Unshaken. Unstoppable.
"What have you done?!" King Reginald's voice thundered through the hall.
He stood tall despite the destruction around him, his presence still commanding, still powerful.
Drake turned slowly to face him.
His expression was cold… almost emotionless.
"What I should have done long ago," Drake replied.
His voice was steady, but filled with quiet rage.
"How can a king as feeble as you rule Elarion? This kingdom was meant to be powerful… feared… dominant. Instead, you chose peace."
He stepped closer.
"You welcomed outsiders. You allowed creatures of all kinds to live among us instead of conquering them."
His eyes darkened.
"That… is weakness."
The king's fists clenched, his power beginning to rise.
"I built this kingdom on unity," King Reginald said firmly. "On peace. On strength through togetherness."
Drake let out a quiet, mocking laugh.
"I am still merciful," he said. "So I will give you a choice."
His voice dropped.
"Vacate the throne… or die protecting it."
Silence filled the hall for a single moment.
Then—
"I will never leave my throne!" King Reginald roared.
And just like that—
War erupted.
The castle became a battlefield.
Fire clashed violently against air. Lightning tore through the skies, shaking the walls. Water surged like waves crashing against stone.
The masters fought with everything they had.
Josh unleashed blazing infernos. Jayden's lightning struck with deadly precision. Norah controlled powerful winds, while Rumi commanded flowing torrents of water.
But Drake…
Drake was something else entirely.
He moved effortlessly between all five elements, countering every attack with terrifying ease.
Students rushed forward to help, determined to protect their home—but Queen Emmaline saw the truth immediately.
"They are not ready…" she whispered, fear gripping her heart.
If they stayed… they would die.
Without hesitation, she raised her hands and cast a powerful spell.
A bright light surrounded the students—
And in an instant…
They vanished.
In the library, far from the battlefield, Kael, Lyra, Adrian, Princess Isabella, Talia, and Ronan sat quietly.
Then—
A deafening explosion shook the entire castle.
The walls trembled.
Books fell from shelves.
Fear filled their eyes.
"What was that?" Lyra whispered.
They didn't wait for answers.
They ran.
Down the halls. Down the stairs.
And when they reached the main hall…
They stopped.
Frozen.
Broken.
King Reginald lay on the ground… lifeless.
Blood surrounded him.
Master Josh… gone.
Master Jayden… still.
Norah struggled weakly for breath.
Rumi knelt, barely holding on, clutching a book tightly to her chest.
Queen Emmaline stood alone.
And Drake…
Was walking toward them.
"Father…" Isabella's voice cracked.
Before Drake could strike, Emmaline whispered an ancient spell.
A powerful force blasted forward—
Sending Drake flying backward.
She rushed to Rumi while limping, gently taking the book.
"This… is the legend," she said softly.
Inside it lay a prophecy:
One day, darkness will rise and consume Elarion…
But five chosen Elementarists, alongside a fierce sorcerer,
will rise to defeat it.
Emmaline turned to Isabella, her eyes filled with love and sorrow.
"I love you," she whispered. "Never forget me."
Tears streamed down Isabella's face.
"Remember this—true strength lies in unity. Together… you are unstoppable."
She placed a hand on her cheek.
"I will always be with you… in spirit."
She handed the book back to Rumi.
"Take care of them please."
With the last of her strength—
She cast one final spell.
Light engulfed them.
And they disappeared.
They reappeared deep within Motunara Forest—
A wild, ancient land filled with towering trees, thick mist, and hidden power.
Somewhere within it stood the Great Dragon Temple.
They were safe.
But everything they loved… was gone.
Back in Elarion—
Silence returned.
Darkness spread across the kingdom like a curse.
The once-beautiful land of unity and peace was now covered in mist and fear.
The Elemental Academy… destroyed.
Hope… nearly gone.
Drake walked slowly toward the throne.
And sat.
A small smile formed on his lips.
"At last…"
He turned to Cassius.
"You will serve as Royal Sorcerer… and my adviser."
Cassius bowed, a dark grin spreading across his face.
And so—
The Kingdom of Elarion fell.
