Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Creed of Holy Light, Secret Infiltration (Part 2)

"We've been discovered!"

Selene flashed, quickly retreating to Celeste's side and raising her shield again.

"Sis, they finally realized that half of their companions have been wiped out!"

Celeste looked at the group of goblins huddled together, shivering while feigning ferocity, a flash of regret in her eyes.

Just a little bit more.

Just a tiny bit more, and she could have achieved a "perfect infiltration" in the true sense.

However, having taken out half of them first, the pressure had already been drastically reduced.

[Ding! The "perfect infiltration (physical)" plan has been interrupted because the enemy's mathematical skills suddenly performed exceptionally well! You have created a dramatic joy value from the plan failing to keep up with the changes, joy value +50! Host, never underestimate a creature that needs to use its toes to count!]

"The plan has changed."

Celeste spoke calmly, her hands tightening again around the seemingly harmless pink staff.

She paused, her tone carrying an icy matter-of-factness.

"Since the stealth failed..."

"Then let's turn the remaining witnesses into corpses."

"As long as there are no survivors to see us, it is still a perfect infiltration."

Selene was stunned for a moment.

Immediately, she nodded vigorously, a brilliant smile bloomed on her face, and she raised the longsword and shield in her hands.

"That makes sense!"

"Sis, your logic is always so rigorous!"

[Ding! Redefining the "perfect infiltration" standard, logic self-consistent, joy value +99!]

Celeste gripped her pink staff, watching the huddled and suspicious goblins, "They are gathered together, which is perfect..."

Her gaze swept over the noisy group of goblins and finally settled on the pile of shiny treasure.

Thanks to the Blessing of Wind, she could "hear" the faint vortices forming in the air above the treasure pile.

A bold plan formed instantly.

"Selene," she lowered her voice, her eyes flashing with a cunning light, "What do you think would happen if we made their treasures 'come alive'?"

Selene was stunned: "Come alive?"

"Exactly." Celeste grabbed a handful of relatively light bee needles and colorful stones that she had collected previously from the system space, "Let's put on a show of 'flying treasure' for them."

She closed her eyes, focusing all her attention on sensing the airflow.

The paths of several weak air currents in the cavern hall appeared clearly in her mind.

She could not command the wind, but she could become a friend of the wind, finding the perfect trajectory that would allow the projectiles to borrow its strength.

Now!

She opened her eyes abruptly, her wrists exerting force, and the bee needles and stones flew out of her hands at an extremely precise angle!

These projectiles did not fly in a straight line.

They drew strange arcs in the air, cleverly utilizing the several air currents naturally present in the cavern hall, as if manipulated by an invisible hand, precisely striking the small and light sequins and crystal fragments on the top layer of the treasure pile!

"Clatter, clatter—ding, ding, clang—"

A sharp, dense sound of collisions suddenly rang out!

Countless shiny little objects were knocked into the air, and under the illumination of the glowing moss, they looked like exploding fireworks, flashing with a fatally seductive light as they scattered in all directions!

The originally noisy cavern hall fell instantly silent.

All the goblins, including the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 who was waving his warhammer, froze.

Their mung-bean-sized eyes widened, staring fixedly at the "flying treasures" that were tracing shiny paths in the air.

The next second, the deafening "quack, quack" sounds almost blew the roof off the cavern!

"Quack, quack, quack! The shiny things are flying! They're flying!"

"Mine! Those are my shiny sequins!"

"Catch them! Don't let them run away!"

"Get lost! I saw them first!"

The Goblin Chieftain Lv.25's roar was completely drowned out.

Discipline? Orders?

In front of flying shiny things, they were worthless!

The goblins fell into complete chaos, like a group of ants whose nest had been kicked, madly lunging at the treasures flying in the air or rolling on the ground, pushing, fighting, and scrambling against each other; the scene was completely out of control.

"Now!"

Celeste let out a low cry, and she and Selene tore through the air, two figures suddenly bursting forth from their hiding place!

Their target was the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25, who was still roaring in vain while trying to maintain Order!

"Capture the leader to take down the rest!"

Seeing two "ugly giants" rushing straight at him, the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 was both shocked and angry, his warhammer sweeping across with a vicious wind: "Quack! Kill the ugly monsters!"

Selene stepped forward with her shield without hesitation: "Holy Light Barrier!"

"Boom!"

The warhammer smashed into the light barrier, emitting a muffled, thunderous sound; the barrier fluctuated violently but held firm against the blow.

Celeste slid along the ground, her figure flickering in the shadows, instantly cutting into the huge gap on the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25's flank!

The pink staff struck like a poisonous snake emerging from its hole, piercing straight into the joint of the arm holding the hammer!

The Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 felt the pain, and his movements froze for a split second.

Selene seized the opportunity, pushing her shield forward violently, staggering him back half a step, and her right-hand knight's sword transformed into a beam of white light, stabbing toward his throat!

The Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 dodged in a panic, but the sword tip grazed his neck, drawing a spray of blood.

He was shocked and angry, and a violent red light began to emanate from his body.

"He's about to go berserk! Finish it quickly!" Celeste reminded her.

With a thought, the hidden blade on her left arm popped out, and she lowered her body, sliding under the warhammer the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 was wielding.

The hidden blade flashed with cold light, precisely slicing open his unarmored ankle!

"Quack-ah!"

The Goblin Chieftain Lv.25 screamed, losing his balance.

How could Selene let such an opportunity slip by?

She charged forward with her shield, the Holy Light condensing on the blade as if it were solid, delivering a swift and peerless thrust!

"Crusader Strike!"

"Pfft!"

The Burning knight's sword, imbued with Holy Light, precisely pierced through the Goblin Chieftain Lv.25's chest, exiting from his back!

The Goblin Chieftain Lv.25's roar came to an abrupt halt.

He looked down at the blade in his chest in disbelief, his massive (relatively speaking) body swaying before collapsing to the ground with a boom, kicking up a cloud of dust.

[Ding! Killed Goblin Chieftain Lv.25, gained points +100! Completed "decapitation" operation!]

The leader was dead.

The remaining goblins had just recovered slightly from the temptation of the treasure when they saw this horrifying scene.

"Quack?! The boss is dead!"

"Shiny things... boss... wuwu... run!"

After a brief moment of stagnation, the surviving goblins let out terrified screams, completely losing their will to fight, and scattered like headless flies.

"Pursue!"

Celeste was concise, her eyes cold; being kind to the enemy was being cruel to oneself.

The ensuing battle turned into a one-sided slaughter.

Selene held her shield and sword again, like a heavily armored chariot crushing into a flock of sheep; amidst the flashing Holy Light, the fleeing goblins were knocked down one by one.

Celeste utilized her speed advantage, becoming a ghost on the battlefield, alternating between her pink staff and hidden blade, precisely reaping the stragglers who tried to hide or escape into side paths.

In the cavern hall, the screams of the goblins rose and fell, soon falling back into silence.

When the last goblin fell under Celeste's pink staff, the entire cavern hall was silent, save for the breathing of The two sisters.

Celeste leaned on her pink staff, breathing slightly.

Selene also wiped the sweat from her forehead, looking at the mess and the silent goblins, and let out a long sigh of relief.

"Sis, this infiltration of ours..."

Celeste looked around, confirmed there were no survivors, nodded satisfactorily, and interrupted her sister's words:

"Was very perfect."

"Utilizing the environment to create chaos, precise decapitation, eliminating all witnesses."

"This is textbook-level infiltration."

Selene: "..."

[Ding! Successfully practiced the "Treasure Moves the Goblin's Heart" tactic, completed the decapitation and total annihilation, redefined "perfect infiltration" once again, created double the joy value from tactics and logic, joy value +250! Host, your tactical literacy (and thickness of skin) is increasing with each passing day!]

Ignoring the system's teasing, Celeste cast her gaze toward the closed metal door at the other end of the cavern hall.

"Let's go, it's time to collect our'spoils'."
