Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Departure

A few more days passed. After resting at home for several days, Ana received a transfer order from headquarters and ended this vacation.

However, Shun, who knew the truth, understood that this was most likely because Theresa had finally transferred Ana's registration from the Southeast Asia Branch to Japan Branch.

Although Otto might have agreed quickly, the personnel side would probably still cause a lot of hassle. After all, the number of Valkyrie troops in Southeast Asia wasn't large to begin with. Now they were cutting an A-rank Valkyrie squad and a heroic squad with promotional value from their hands. They definitely wouldn't be willing.

Shun estimated that in order to satisfy the request Theresa had finally made to him, Otto's budget for resetting Kallen Fantasy would be cut quite a bit by Amber again.

Because Shun and Ana were leaving, Friedrich and Elena escorted them all the way to the nearest airport. From here, the two would take a plane to the old Schicksal headquarters in Kolosten town, then return to Schicksal headquarters.

"Ana, Shun, you two must take good care of each other from now on." Elena stepped forward and gave both Shun and Ana a big hug.

Although they had only spent a few days together, aside from Friedrich nitpicking because Shun caught more fish than him, Elena really couldn't find any faults. Perhaps mothers-in-law looked at sons-in-law more favorably than fathers-in-law.

"Shun, Ana's personality takes after her father. She might not be very smart, so you'll still need to take good care of her."

How to offend two people with one sentence. Yet Ana and Friedrich, who were being roasted to their faces, had nothing to say because compared to Elena, the father and daughter really weren't very sharp.

It wasn't an intelligence issue. Although Ana hadn't attended a proper university, she had always scored full marks in Valkyrie courses. The air-force fishing enthusiast Friedrich had also graduated from Berlin University.

Seeing that Ana's family had no issues with intelligence, but the key point was they were a bit lacking in common sense. Ana aside she was the heaven-defying white-give king father-in-law Friedrich was just an old urchin.

At times like this, the importance of Shun and Elena showed. At least with such external brains, the two of them definitely wouldn't be deceived.

"Understood, mother-in-law. I will take good care of Ana." Shun promised.

Elena nodded and continued, "Good, then I'm relieved. To be honest, at first I thought Ana would bring back some silly boy. Seeing you like this, I'm at ease."

For Elena, taking care of two people lacking common sense was a bit too much. Having Shun to share the pressure also fulfilled one of her wishes.

After that, Elena gave Shun quite a few more instructions, which made Ana feel a bit unbalanced inside.

Father-in-law Friedrich was much simpler. He gave Shun an international friendly gesture to retaliate for last night's experience of being completely crushed by Shun in Street Fighter.

Joking aside, Shun's combo inputs and thinking were decades ahead of this era. Coupled with his enhanced physical fitness and neural reactions, it wouldn't be surprising if Shun took the world championship now.

"How about we play Mario Kart next time?" Compared to a game like Street Fighter that could develop from online PVP to offline PVP, it was better to play something like Mario Kart a family-friendly game.

"Kid, don't get cocky. Next time I'll definitely crush you!" Friedrich felt he couldn't win at fishing against Shun anymore, so at least in games that didn't rely on dog luck he should be stronger than Shun, right?

He decided to go home and train hard at game skills. One day he would wash away the shame in blood.

Shun found it a bit amusing. He felt his father-in-law was probably born with the Touch-Head Village saint physique. Unfortunately, this world didn't have Touch-Head Village yet. Otherwise, Shun would put Friedrich through three rounds of head-touching and then wrap him in red temperature.

"Alright, alright. Then I'll wait for father-in-law to master his divine skills." Shun said casually. It wasn't that he looked down on his trash fish father-in-law, but with Shun's physical condition, even playing StarCraft would put Friedrich at a disadvantage, let alone fighting games.

Probably the only chance Friedrich had to win was in Fight the Landlord. No with Cosmic Juggernaut on his back, Shun, who could cheat, would not lose.

"Enemies who fall before me have never been considered opponents by me. I give you time to catch up until you can no longer even see me from afar." Shun patted Friedrich on the shoulder and turned to leave.

"My precious, I love you to death!" Friedrich realized he had been styled on again at the end. He flipped Shun the middle finger in the direction he left, only to be dragged away by Elena for being too embarrassing.

Now only Shun and Ana were left again. Well, the people in the airport didn't count.

"My dad really is quite rowdy." Ana, who had been raised by Friedrich since childhood, had the most right to speak.

"It's pretty good. Better than those guys who like to say classical phrases, right? Father-in-law is quite nice."

This was the first time in two lifetimes that Shun had met the parents, and he hadn't expected it to go so smoothly. Even the father-in-law who initially disliked him had reconciled with him.

"He's just too lively!" Thinking of this, Ana couldn't help but pout. "I'm clearly your fiancée, yet when we were at home, my dad spent more time with you than I did!"

These past few days at home, Shun's time had basically been occupied by Friedrich with all kinds of excuses. Ana only had time to be alone with Shun before sleeping every night.

How could Ana not feel puzzled? The one who clearly disliked Shun the most was Friedrich, yet he kept pestering him every day.

"Well, maybe he didn't want the two of us to be all lovey-dovey in front of him. You know, fathers can't accept seeing their daughters being intimate with someone else in front of them."

Shun casually made up a reason. Maybe it was like that at the beginning, but later it was probably not pure intentions.

"Well, but Ana, don't worry. Have you forgotten our previous agreement?"

"Go to Tokyo? But I just received a transfer order from headquarters. I can only see if there's time to apply for honeymoon leave later." Ana said somewhat dejectedly.

Shun smiled mysteriously. "Who said there's no time? What if you were transferred to Japan Branch?"

Ana pointed at herself, a bit incredulous. "Me? Transferred to Japan Branch? That's impossible, right? There's a combat power shortage in Southeast Asia right now, and..."

Ana listed many reasons why she couldn't possibly be transferred. Logically speaking, it was indeed the case. But the key was that Shun had used means outside the rules.

"What you said makes sense, but the fact is exactly that. Mother-in-law told me that after Lady Theresa learned about you, she insisted on transferring you to Japan Branch." Shun casually made up another line. Anyway, he estimated the two of them wouldn't have any objections.

Elena, Theresa: "Yes, children. I have no objections."

Anyway, the fact that Shun was secretly pushing this matter absolutely could not be discovered.

Elena, Theresa: "You're amazing. You're noble."
