Chapter 33 - Battle Tournament!!! (Final)

{THAT WAS A GREAT FIGHT, WAS IT NOT??!!!}

{I'M SURE THE NEXT ONE WOULD BE AEVEN BETTER!!! YEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!}

{OKAY THEN, LET'S CALL THEM OUT!!!!}

2 boys went out and got on the arena.

The stadium had never been this loud before.

Not during the race.

Not during the cavalry battle.

Not even during the quarter or the semi finals.

Because now, it's the finale of all. Everything was now focused on the 2 young men in the center stage.

In another universe, these two have never met in this stage like this.

Two best friends who had spent their entire lives striving to be the best.

Izuku stood near the western edge of the arena, rolling tension from his shoulders as green sparks danced softly across his body. Black whip drifted around him in slow coils, almost calm, like breathing.

Across from him, Katsuki stretched one arm behind his neck while small explosions popped from his palms and feet. Smoke rising from contained heat.

Neither looked angry. Well, if you count Katsuki's natural bitch face, that is.

The two looked so happy that the Author himself can't even describe it. It's like an anime character's face when they're happy...

Katsuki was grinning.

"So... One shot?"

izu

Izuku smiled back immediately.

"One shot."

The agreement had already been made backstage.

No dragged-out battle.

No conserving stamina.

No tactical retreat.

They had both fought through brutal rounds to get here. Bruised muscles, strained joints, fatigue hidden beneath adrenaline. They both knew the truth.

If they stretched this into a prolonged fight, they'd collapse before showing everything they had.

And neither of them wanted regrets.

Katsuki cracked his knuckles saying, "Then we hit each other with the strongest thing we've got."

Midoriya nodded and replied, "Winner takes all."

They looked towards Midnight as if asking for her approval.

"…Are both of you sure you will live after this?"

"NOPE!" Katsuki barked.

"Yes?" Izuku answered at the same time.

Midnight sighed.

"…I like it..!."

Wind rolled through the arena.

Then her whip struck.

Instantly, both moved.

Not toward each other but away.

Katsuki blasted backward with simultaneous explosions from hands and feet, launching himself high into the air. Shockwaves burst behind him in rapid succession as he accelerated faster and faster, spiraling upward like a rocket.

At the same moment, Izuku's whip coiled around his hips and into his arms as it stretched itself to the seats, coiling around the railings.

Full Cowling!!!

Green lightning erupted across his body.

20%

He dragged himself backward, the whips fought against him, creating tension.

The audience held its breath.

No warm-up.

No testing strikes.

No hesitation.

Both were building toward one singular collision.

Katsuki spun violently in midair.

Explosions condensed around his body in rotating layers, growing brighter with every second. His palms ignited. His feet detonated repeatedly to increase rotational speed.

The pressure in the arena began to change.

Heat distorted the air itself.

HOWITZER...

Meanwhile Izuku was still pulling against the whips.

His body trembled from the force building in his legs.

ST. LOUIS...

Then he released. The whips snapped forward launching him in the air.

He became a green missile.

Katsuki roared.

–IMPACT!!!!!

A colossal spiral explosion erupted downward from the sky.

Izuku surged upward launching straight towards Katsuki.

–SMAAAAAAASSSHHHHH!!!!!!!

The two attacks met dead center above the arena.

For one impossible instant, the entire stadium turned white.

The collision sounded less like an explosion and more like the sky breaking apart.

BOOOOOOOOM—

A massive dome of pressure detonated outward, the floors of the arena cracked, sending shockwaves ripping through the audience barriers.

Wind pressure through spiraling fire.

Orange explosions swallowed green energy.

Both boys screamed as they forced everything into that single attack.

Then the blast consumed them entirely.

Both vanished. Cementoss couldn't reach far enough, Aizawa himself couldn't cancel their Quirks if he can't see them due to the blinding explosion. Not that he would do it, mind you.

Silence fell.

No one moved.

Even the announcers forgot to speak.

smoke and dust drifted slowly downward through the stadium lights.

Then—

THUD!

Two bodies hit the arena floor almost simultaneously.

The smoke cleared little by little.

Izuku lay flat on his back near the center crater, chest heaving weakly.

Katsuki was only a few feet away, sprawled on his side.

Burn marks covered both of them.

Their clothes were half-destroyed. Who even pays for this, huh? It's been tattered all through out the day, especially for Katsuki.

Neither looked capable of standing.

Midnight stared. There were no rules about this. In the first place, this wasn't like a Martial Arts tournament where you count if someone gets knocked out or anything. The premise was out of bounds or if the enemy can't continue either unconscious or whatever injuries they've suffered. Left with nothing, she had to improvise in the spot.

"…Move count begins now!"

The crowd erupted instantly.

"GET UP!"

"COME ON!"

"WHO WON?!"

Katsuki groaned first.

"Ugh… damn…"

Izuku laughed weakly without opening his eyes.

"Y-You alive?"

"Barely..."

"…Cool."

Katsuki managed to turn his head slightly.

"You held back?"

Izuku smiled faintly.

"Not even a little."

Katsuki grinned despite himself.

"Good. I would've killed you if you did."

The count continued.

"Seven!"

Neither moved.

"Eight!"

Izuku tried lifting an arm. It was pure violet now, probably broken or something.

He failed of course.

Katsuki let out a painful laugh.

"Pathetic."

"You too."

"Nah. I look awesome."

"Narcissist."

"Damn right."

"Ten!"

"Both fighters are unable to continue!"

The buzzer echoed across the arena.

"THIS MATCH ENDS IN A DRAW!"

For half a second, the crowd stood stunned.

Then the entire stadium exploded into cheers louder than anything heard all day.

Because nobody cared there wasn't a winner.

Not after that.

Izuku stared straight at the sky, Katsuki laid beside him breathing heavily.

And despite every bruise, every burn, every ounce of exhaustion—

both of them were smiling like idiots.

Because this was exactly the kind of fight they had always wanted.

Not to destroy each other.

But to stand at the same height—

and swing with absolutely everything they had.

Yoshiki didn't know at the time but this would be another teasing material for him.

(If you continue putting those em dashes, they'd think you used AI dude.)

[Em dashes are cool, and I'm a cool person so shut up.]

(Only legit writers use that though. You are just a bored low life, there's a different.)

[You're me??]

(I've already made peace with it a long time ago.)

[Well, I'm not a loser like you.]

(You did say I'm you, so.)

[No, you are me but you're not actually me. You are just a personality I gave birth to because I was bored.]

(...What kind of fucking bull ahh shit are you saying now. 'Gave birth' what are you, a woman?)

[Nah, I'm something better. I am your DADDY. Kekeke, also I'm ligma.]
