Chapter 13 : The Package
Piggy: "Hey Karl... Kenny wants us. Gather the rest and meet us inside."
The members gather around the table as usual, looking at each other in silence, waiting for their president Kenny to show up. After a moment, he walks in.
Kenny: "Everyone here?"
Karl: "Yeeeeah!"
Piggy: "I want to ask something before you get into what you called us for."
Kenny: "Go ahead."
Karl: "Why didn't you let us fuck them up good, then waste them... then?"
Kenny cuts him off: "That's exactly why I called you together. I was going to make them suffer, then leave the rest to you and Piggy. But the plan changed. They became too important. We're going to profit from them today. I made a deal with that fucking bastard... he wants them."
Piggy: "Why does he want them? What's it to him?!"
Kenny: "Easy, let me finish. That fucking bastard wants them for something I don't care about. What matters is they're going to do us a favor. Long story short: this month's profits will be tax-free."
"Yeah! Yeah! Hell yeah!" Loud noise fills the clubhouse. Everyone's shouting... except Piggy, who hasn't moved.
Kenny: "What's wrong with you?"
Piggy: "It cost me... I lost my eye."
Karl: "You're a beast. With it or without it, a loss like that won't affect you."
Everyone shouts and chants: "Piggy! Piggy! Piggy! Piggy!"
Kenny: "At 10 p.m., we deliver the package on Old Mill Road."
Kenny: "After we deliver the package... what do you say we go fuck around with our ladies? It's been a month since we last fucked around with them."
Piggy: "Fuck them... yeah! yeah!"
Everyone in chaos: "Yeah! yeah! hell yeah!"
Behind a computer screen, Rat Boy sits with headphones on. He listens, confused, then takes off the headphones and calls Danger.
Rat Boy: "Hey Danger... come here! Come!"
Danger: "What?"
Rat Boy: "Put these on and listen."
Rat Boy plays the audio recording from the beginning... the recording ends.
Danger: "Sons of bitches."
Danger walks quickly to call Tig.
Tig listens to the recording and smiles: "They want to play? We'll play with them."
Tig claps his hands: "Come here, boys... where's Chibs?"
Skinny: "He took a beer and went up to the roof."
Tig: "Forrest... call him. It's urgent."
Bishop in a sarcastic tone: "Run, Forrest, run!"
Forrest: "Fuck you, man."
Chibs is on the roof with his beer.
Forrest: "Hey Chibs... come down. Tig said it's urgent."
Twenty-five minutes remain until the package delivery.
Karl walks toward where Ebiel and Thomas are being held. He opens the door and shouts loudly: "They're still alive!"
Piggy: "Tough bastards."
Karl: "Get the duct tape while I tie their legs."
Thomas: "Screw you... fuck!"
Karl slaps him: "Shut up!"
Piggy brings the duct tape, puts it over their mouths, and helps tie their feet.
They take them out and put them in the car. Then they get ready to move.
Kenny: "I don't want any mistakes. Me, Piggy, and Karl in the car. The rest of you on your bikes. Is everyone here?"
One of the members: "Titi isn't here."
Kenny: "Damn it! Where did that bastard go at a time like this?!"
Suddenly, a voice comes from behind them, strong:
The voice: "He's with me."
Everyone turns around in shock.
A man stands there. He's wearing a black hoodie, his face covered with a mask. He's holding Titi by the back of his neck, his gun pressed against his head.
Kenny claps enthusiastically: "What a magnificent show!" He keeps clapping. Clap, clap.
The voice (cold, sharp): "I'm not joking with you."
Everyone laughs nervously.
Kenny: "What brought you here to dare enter my clubhouse and point a gun at one of my members in front of me?"
The stranger doesn't answer. He raises his gun to the sky.
He fires a shot into the air.
Bang!
The voice : "I'm serious... and I'm not joking."
Everyone falls silent. Even the air falls silent.
And for the first time... Kenny didn't smile.
