Chapter 13 - The One Who Crossed Illegally

The tear screamed.

Not with sound But with pressure.

Reality bent around it as the figure forced its way through, the crack widening unnaturally, like something was being pushed past its limits.

Danny couldn't move.

"…That's a person…?" he repeated.

Abby didn't answer.

Because she already knew—

This was worse than anything before.

The figure stepped forward.

One foot landing on solid ground.

Then another.

The tear flickered violently behind him—

Struggling to stay open.

He was… normal.

At least—

That's what it looked like.

A teenage boy.

Around their age.

Messy dark hair.

Simple clothes.

No horns.

No wings.

No monstrous form.

But the moment he fully stepped through—

The tear snapped shut behind him.

And the air collapsed.

BOOM.

A shockwave rippled outward, subtle but heavy enough to make Danny stumble back.

"…What the…"

The boy stretched slightly.

Like he'd just walked through a door.

"…Tch," he muttered. "That was annoying."

Danny blinked.

"…He's talking like this is normal…"

Abby stepped forward.

Her aura flaring instantly.

Sharp.

Dangerous.

"You shouldn't be here."

The boy glanced at her.

Then Smiled.

Not friendly.

Not warm.

Calculated.

"Yeah," he said casually.

"I get that a lot."

Danny felt something twist in his chest.

Not fear.

Not exactly.

But something close.

"…Who are you?" Danny asked.

The boy's eyes shifted to him.

And the moment they did Everything went quiet.

Not physically.

But mentally.

Danny's thoughts slowed.

His instincts screamed.

This guy…

"…You're the Key," the boy said.

No hesitation.

No doubt.

Danny froze.

"…You too…?"

The boy chuckled softly.

"Of course."

A pause.

"You're kind of hard to miss right now."

Abby stepped between them.

Her presence instantly rising.

"Answer the question."

Her voice dropped.

Cold.

Commanding.

"Who are you?"

The boy looked at her again.

Studying her.

Then He shrugged.

"Call me… Ren."

"Call you?" Abby repeated.

"…That's not your real name."

Ren smirked.

"Does it matter?"

A brief silence.

Then Abby's aura surged.

Crimson energy pressing outward.

"Yes."

The ground cracked beneath her feet.

"Because if you crossed through a tear…"

Her eyes narrowed.

"Then you're not supposed to exist here either."

Ren tilted his head slightly.

"And yet…"

A small step forward.

"Here I am."

The air tightened.

Danny felt it immediately.

This wasn't like the monsters.

This wasn't like Abby.

This was something else.

Controlled.

Precise.

Dangerous in a completely different way.

"…Why are you here?" Danny asked.

Ren looked at him again.

And this time His smile faded slightly.

"Same reason as them."

A pause.

"You."

Danny clenched his fists.

"…I'm getting tired of hearing that."

Ren chuckled.

"Yeah, I bet."

A brief silence.

Then Abby spoke again.

"You're not just here to observe."

Her voice was sharp.

"You crossed a tear."

A step closer.

"That means you forced your way in."

Ren didn't deny it.

Instead He smiled again.

"Yeah."

A pause.

"Because waiting wasn't an option."

Danny frowned.

"…Waiting for what?"

Ren's gaze sharpened.

"For you to wake up properly."

Silence.

Danny's chest tightened.

"…Properly…?"

Abby's expression darkened instantly.

"You know something."

Ren didn't answer directly.

Instead—

He raised his hand.

The air around it distorted.

Not like Danny's.

Not like Abby's.

Cleaner.

Sharper.

Like it was being controlled perfectly.

Danny's eyes widened.

"…You can do that too…?"

Ren glanced at him.

"Of course I can."

A pause.

"I've been doing this longer than you."

That line—

Changed everything.

Danny's heart skipped.

"…What do you mean…?"

Ren lowered his hand slowly.

Then—

He stepped closer.

Closer than he should.

Closer than Abby should allow.

But she didn't move.

Because she felt it too.

If she attacked Something worse might happen.

Ren stopped just a few steps away.

Looking directly at Danny.

"It means…"

A pause.

His voice dropped slightly.

"You're not the only Key."

Silence.

Total.

Danny's mind went blank.

"…What…?"

Abby's eyes widened.

For the first time—

Completely caught off guard.

"…That's impossible."

Ren smiled again.

"That's what I thought too."

A pause.

Then—

He added quietly—

"Until I woke up."

Danny's breathing became uneven.

"…You're saying…"

He couldn't even finish the sentence.

Because if that was true—

Then everything Abby said…

Everything about him being special…

Wasn't unique anymore.

Ren turned slightly.

"Don't look so shocked."

A glance back.

"You're just earlier than expected."

That word again.

Expected.

Danny clenched his fists.

"…Who's expecting this?"

Ren's smile didn't fade.

But his eyes—

Shifted.

Just slightly.

"You'll find out."

A pause.

Then He stepped back.

"Soon."

The air shifted again.

That same feeling.

Like something was watching.

But this time Closer.

More focused.

Danny felt it immediately.

"…It's happening again…"

Abby's aura flared.

Stronger.

More aggressive.

"Both of you—stay sharp."

Ren didn't move.

Didn't react.

Just smiled.

"Yeah…"

A pause.

"Here they come."

The air behind them—

Tore open again.

Not a tear.

Not a Rift.

Something worse.

Something forced.

Multiple distortions appeared at once—

Surrounding them.

Danny's heart dropped.

"…You've got to be kidding me…"

Abby's voice turned cold.

"This isn't natural."

Ren's smile widened slightly.

"No."

A pause.

"It's not."

The distortions pulsed Violently, Unstable, Dangerous and from within them Something began to emerge.

Not one.

Not two.

But many.

And this time—

They weren't alone.

Because whatever was coming—

Was targeting all of them.

To Be Continued.
