The back of her shirt was coated in dirt, dust, and a strange dark, sticky substance that had gotten on her when Angel had dragged her out after her legs had given out.
The black substance had been thick and noticeable at first,
But as time passed and the light hit it, it slowly faded and disappeared, leaving behind only dirty stains.
Angela looked down at her feet and realized something.
She was missing a shoe.
One of her running shoes had been left behind in that dark place.
