Lirien's POV
The cool water of the pool hit me like a shock the second I dove in, stealing my breath for a moment and raising goosebumps all over my overheated skin. But it did nothing, absolutely nothing, to put out the fire still raging inside my chest. I broke the surface with a gasp, pushing my wet silver-white hair back from my face, water streaming down my neck and shoulders. When I turned around, my heart slammed against my ribs at the sight of them.
