Vael's POV
The days after our talk with Mom were filled with quiet excitement. Davis and I had decided it was time. We wanted to propose to Lirien and make our family official. Every time I saw him with the babies — feeding them, rocking them to sleep, or smiling at their little sounds — I felt more sure. He was the one we wanted to spend our lives with. He had already given us so much love and three beautiful children. Now we wanted to give him our promise.
One afternoon, while Lirien was resting with the babies, Davis and I slipped out of the house. We told Sara we were going for a short walk. She smiled knowingly but didn't ask too many questions. We drove to the city center to look for rings.
The jewelry shop was quiet and elegant. Soft lights lit up the glass cases, making the rings and necklaces sparkle. The owner was an older woman with kind eyes and a gentle smile. She welcomed us warmly and asked what we were looking for.
