"Hey... Umm... Can you hear me?"
"WHAT IS IT, BRAT?"
"Let's do the thing."
"HEH. AS YOU SAY, BRAT."
Yabo told the others to be careful and to be ready in case anything happens. For a brief moment, Takeru was gone and his alternate had appeared. The second it awakened, it lunged toward the dead bodies filled with hunger. It grew out and sharped its teeth and began feasting on the bodies including the little girl's.
"Yuck...", Yabo said in a pompous manner. Kohei and Hina seemed disturbed as well looking at a little girl's body be devoured.
MUNCH! MUNCH! MUNCH!
Strangely, unlike other alternates, Takeru's only ate the heads. Typically, alternates love the taste of the whole human body and would never waste any bits. Yabo found it to be very peculiar. "Interesting..."
For a while, it was just an awkward few minutes of the alternate just munching on the dead bodies and the rest of Group 4 watching.
Yabo looked over at Hina. "So... What've you been up to lately? Have you found some cool shows or something to watch?" Hina stayed silent and didn't reply.
"Geez... Just shut the fuck up, Yabo. Nobody wants to have a chat while watching something so gross like someone eating human bodies."
"Nobody's talking to you, Kohei. You're the one who needs to shut his trap.", Yabo said in a taunting voice.
Hina sighed. "Both of you need to shut up, I have no interest in hearing you children whining." Yabo smiled. "Come on, Hina... Don't be so mean to me. We're good friends, ain't we?"
"Huh? Where'd you get tha-"
"UGHHHHHHHHH...", Takeru screamed feeling disgusted. He had returned to his body and was extremely disgusted by the horrendous amount of human flesh and blood lingering around in his mouth. "Shit! Ew..."
Hina had no reaction to Takeru coming back and Kohei looked slightly concerned but said nothing. In a way, it was just like that one time one of Kohei's classmates in school got their pants pulled down. That classmate was revealed to be wearing pink underwear with hearts on it. It was a bully that did that to the poor guy. The bully and all the other folks from school began laughing at the bullying victim but Kohei just kinda stared. He was concerned for him and felt bad but didn't act on his feelings. He just stared, creepily in fact.
Somehow, with all the folks in school laughing at them, that classmate was most disturbed from Kohei and his creepy stare.
"You're back, huh? So, what's your unique ability?", Yabo asked.
After performing the deal with the alternate, the alternate-user automatically gains knowledge about their unique ability and how to use it.
Takeru couldn't focus on Yabo's words and started frantically looking around. He then rushed over to the Fudo No Taki waterfall to clean his mouth and get red of the human remains.
"Did ya hear me or not, kid? What's your unique ability? It better be a good one with you being a fucking special case or whatever.", Yabo said.
"I... I..."
"Huh!? Just fucking spit it out, you lazy bum."
"I don't know."
"The fuck you mean you don't know? You're supposed to know how to use it and all. Is this related to that bullshit about you being a special case? Geez... why do I have to get such useless members in my group!? So that whole deal was just a waste of time and bodies, huh?"
"Sorry, Warugaki-san..."
Yabo sighed. "Get up, let's just get the fuck outta here." Group 4 slowly left Todoroki Valley having completed their mission of dealing with the alternate and went back to their patrol.
Meanwhile, a certain individual hiding among human society was getting unfathomably bored. Her name was Mei. She was an alternate hidden from SOMA's sight and was living the daily life of her host.
Every day was the same and it was starting to drive her crazy. "Why must I do this!? I'm getting tired, Shion. When will our masters make their move!?"
snap!
"Hey... You there, Mei? You seemed like you were zoning out.", One of Mei's coworkers said.
"Oh... Sorry, I've just been tired lately.", Mei said while trying to make a regular human smile. She wasn't successful, her smile looked off and a little goofy but the coworker found it charming. His name was Fujinuma Haruto and he had actually developed a little crush on Mei.
"Come on, big guy. This is your chance! You gotta make your move and ask her out..."
"Hey... Uh... So, Mei... Do you mind hanging out with me after work today?"
"What."
Haruto got scared. "Oh shit! I think I made a mistake, she didn't sound pleased at all!!!"
"Oh you know, just a nice little hangout between friends. That's all, hehe.", Haruto said trying to sound nonchalant.
"Oh. Is that something people do?"
"Huh? Of course, its something people do. Geez, Mei. You sound like an alien or something."
"Then, sure. I'll do that activity with you.", Mei said while still making that weird smile again. "She's so cute! Yes! She said yes to my hangout! I was hoping it would be a full on date but I guess ya gotta work your way up."
At around 6 pm, Mei and Haruto got off from their office job began their little hangout. Haruto suggested that they should go to a movie theatre. Mei agreed blindly not really caring. They went to TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku and Haruto asked her what movie she wanted to watch. She replied, "Whatever you want."
That had Haruto's heart racing. "Oh wow... Does she like me after all!? She wants to watch what I want to watch? She's so caring!"
Haruto picked out a sad movie called "My Parents died when I was a kid and then I became a slave and it was just so sad and everybody should cry at my crybaby backstory." Haruto and Mei sat down at the theatres and began watching the movie. Haruto tried to make moves on her but nothing happened. Eventually, they got to a really sad part of the movie where the main character is captured and becomes a slave. It was a real tearjerker and Haruto began to genuinely sob.
At this moment, he looked at Mei to see her reaction and for the first time, he found her strange. She was just staring blankly showing no emotion whatsoever.
After the movie, they both walked out and the atmosphere was awkward as hell. They both weren't saying anything when suddenly Mei spoke up.
"Fujinuma-san, do you wanna come to my house?"
THUMP!
Haruto's heart began beating faster than ever. "Is she for real?"
"Of course, I do!", He said enthusiastically.
"Good. Follow me.", Mei said while making that weird smile again.
Love had blinded Haruto and he followed her without a second thought. As Mei's house got closer and closer, Haruto's heart began to beat faster and faster. Slowly, they had arrived at Mei's house. They were in the house, the door was locked and there was no one else around. Being in that situation with your crush would make anyone so happy and equally as nervous.
Haruto began sweating profusely. He was so nervous, it couldn't be put to words. "I'm literally at her house. I should definitely tell her now, I've been crushing on her for years and its about time I man up!"
Haruto made direct contact with Mei's eyes. The eyes are said to be the window to the soul and if he wasn't so nervous, he would be able to tell that her eyes had no human soul behind them.
Haruto's heart started beating even faster. "Mei, There's something I need to tell you... The thing is... I'm in lov-"
SHRRRK!
Mei had grown out and sharpened her nails to then rip and pierce through Haruto's skin to reach his heart and violently pull it out leaving his chest area obliterated in the process. In an instant, Haruto was dead.
She put the heart in her mouth and began aggressively munching on it.
"SO SORRY, SHION. I JUST COULDN'T CONTAIN IT ANY LONGER... I NEEDED IT... THE TASTE OF HUMAN."
