Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Breaking Limits

Seven days had passed since Aryan's training began.

For an entire week, there had been only one thing—running. Day and night, across the streets of Velmora, Aryan followed Roy without rest, pushing his body far beyond what it was used to.

The results were clear.

His stamina had improved, his speed had increased, and his body felt lighter than before. He could now keep up longer, breathe better, and endure more than he ever thought possible.

Roy slowed his pace slightly and glanced at him. "You've noticed it, haven't you?"

Aryan nodded. "Yeah. My speed… it's definitely increased."

"Don't get too excited," Roy replied calmly. "In the exam, you'll face people so fast you won't even be able to react."

Aryan's expression became serious.

"I'm not making you fast," Roy continued. "I'm making sure you can at least react… or defend yourself."

Aryan let out a small breath. "Then what's next?"

Roy stopped walking.

"Now we begin strength training."

Aryan blinked. "Strength training? What do you mean?"

Roy didn't answer.

Instead, he stepped forward and raised his hand slightly. The ground beneath them trembled for a moment before something massive rose from it.

A giant block of rock.

Aryan's eyes widened as he stared at it.

"…What is that?"

"It's my ability," Roy said simply.

Aryan looked at him, still shocked. "You have a power?"

"Yes," Roy replied. "Not everyone does."

He turned toward the rock again. "That's why we train your body—your strength, speed, reflexes, and agility. Without those, you won't survive against people who have abilities like this."

Aryan stared at the rock, then back at Roy. "What is this kind of power called?"

Roy paused briefly before answering. "People who possess such abilities are called New Soulers. Not everyone in this world has one, so don't rely on it. Focus on what you can control."

He stepped aside.

"Now… training begins."

Aryan followed his gaze.

The giant rock stood in front of him, heavy and unmoving. In the distance, a mountain rose beyond the edge of the city.

Roy pointed toward it.

"You will push that rock to the base of that mountain," he said. "Using only your body."

Aryan froze.

"…What?"

He looked back at the rock, then at the mountain, then back at Roy again.

"Master, are you serious?" he asked. "That's impossible. There's no way I can push something like that."

Roy's expression didn't change.

"Then forget the training," he said calmly. "And forget about your locket."

Silence fell.

Aryan clenched his fists slightly.

He didn't say anything for a moment, his mind racing as he looked at the rock again.

Impossible.

That was the first thought.

But then—

He took a deep breath.

"…Fine."

If this was what it took, then he had no choice.

Slowly, Aryan stepped forward and placed both hands against the surface of the rock. It felt cold, solid, and completely unmoving.

He tightened his grip.

"…Let's do this."
