Chapter 21 - Chapter 021: Offline Meetup?

"I really messed that up…"

Shirou collapsed onto his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling before covering his face in embarrassment.

After hearing "Yaobikuni" open up so honestly, he'd gotten carried away.

Unable to hold himself back, Shirou had fired off a flood of messages.

He asked if they could meet.

He even offered to go see her himself.

Once he calmed down, he realized just how awkward everything he'd said sounded.

She had only been speaking hypothetically, and he'd jumped in way too eagerly.

If he put himself in her position, hearing that kind of thing from a complete stranger would just feel creepy.

"Yaobikuni" hadn't replied for half an hour.

Shirou was convinced she must have taken him for some kind of scammer or someone with ulterior motives.

Sigh… He'd finally made an online friend, and now it seemed like that was the end of it.

He'd treat this as a lesson and be more mindful of boundaries when interacting with people in the future.

"I wonder if 'Yaobikuni' really does have a terminal illness…"

Shirou got up, ready to shut down his computer.

Just then, the long-silent chat window suddenly lit up with a new message.

"Yaobikuni: Thank you, Nameless-sama. Hearing you say that truly makes me happy. Today might be the happiest day of my life."

Shirou's eyes widened slightly.

"Nameless: Was everything you said earlier true? Do you need my help?"

"Yaobikuni: Yes, everything I said is true. I wasn't deceiving Nameless-sama.

I was born with an incurable illness. The doctors said I wouldn't live past fourteen, and up until now, I've spent my entire life confined to a bed at home.

But please don't worry! In the end… it seems a miracle did happen. My illness has been cured, and I've fully recovered.

I'm sorry for making you worry, Nameless-sama."

Kiara Sessyoin wasn't just trying to reassure "Nameless." Her illness really had been cured.

But it wasn't because of a miracle, nor was it thanks to anyone else. It was her own doing.

Through the computer and the internet, Kiara Sessyoin had gained access to knowledge from the outside world, and that was how she cured her incurable illness.

Of course, she couldn't tell Nameless-sama something like that.

If she did, she might be seen as a child who makes things up.

While Kiara Sessyoin was lost in these thoughts, a reply came from the other side.

"Nameless: That's great."

It was just a short, almost perfunctory response, but the girl felt an unusual warmth in those words.

Kiara Sessyoin pressed a hand to her chest, unable to calm her racing heart, and thought to herself—Nameless-sama must truly be happy for her…

"Yaobikuni: Let's talk about something happier, Nameless-sama. This spring, I'm planning to go to school."

"Nameless: Huh? School… Yaobikuni-san, are you still a student?"

"Yaobikuni: Shock! Did Nameless-sama think I was some middle-aged lady? Σ(°Д°;)"

Wasn't she?

Even through a screen, Shirou trusted his instincts when it came to reading people. He didn't think he'd gotten it wrong.

In his eyes, "Yaobikuni" was clearly a mature and well-adjusted woman.

"Nameless: A college student?"

"Yaobikuni: No."

"Nameless: Then… an elementary school student?"

"Yaobikuni: Why are your guesses so extreme? I'm starting my second year of middle school this spring."

Sitting in front of his computer, Shirou sucked in a sharp breath.

Second year of middle school… That meant she was the same age as Fuji-nee—a full-blown chunibyo at fourteen!!

Both of them were fourteen-year-old girls, so how could there be such a massive difference in their mental makeup?

Humans really were fascinating.

"Nameless: Yaobikuni-san, now that you've recovered, you're planning to leave the facility, right?"

"Yaobikuni: Yes, I've already discussed it with my father.

But I haven't decided which middle school to attend yet. Could you recommend one for me, Nameless-sama? (´・ω・`)"

"…"

A bead of sweat slid down Shirou's cheek.

That was completely outside his area of expertise.

If it were elementary school, he might be able to offer some advice, but middle school… that was beyond him.

"Nameless: I'll look into it for you later."

"Yaobikuni: Thank you very much♡"

"Yaobikuni: By the way, Nameless-sama, does what you said earlier still stand?"

"Nameless: What do you mean?"

"Yaobikuni: M-meeting… offline."

"Yaobikuni: I'd like to meet you in person, Nameless-sama. I want to thank you face-to-face."

"Yaobikuni: (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)"

After quickly typing that out, Kiara Sessyoin buried her face between her thighs.

"…thump, thump, thump."

In the stillness of the night, her heartbeat echoed in her ears like a drum.

For a girl who was supposedly "innocent and inexperienced" to say something like that on her own… it was basically a confession.

Kiara Sessyoin was well aware of herself.

She knew exactly how beautiful she was, and she understood that no man could possibly resist her charm.

As long as she met Nameless-sama in person…

No matter how composed or proper he might be, even if he already had a family, he would definitely be drawn to her…♡

"Alright."

The girl took a deep breath, patted her burning cheeks, and looked back at the screen.

"Nameless: I think we should forget about that."

Kiara Sessyoin's smile froze.

"Nameless: I'm already happy just knowing you feel that way."

"Nameless: It's not that I dislike the idea of meeting you, Yaobikuni-san. It's just not very convenient for me."

"Nameless: Anyway! If you run into any trouble in the future, feel free to come to me anytime!"

"......"

Kiara Sessyoin suddenly understood.

This person had never once thought about taking anything from others.

Everything "Nameless" did came from a sense of justice. He had never harbored any ulterior motives.

After all, he was the only "human" she truly acknowledged.

Compared to that, the fact that she had been thinking about seducing him was utterly shameless.

Of course it failed, Kiara!

Nameless-sama is a special existence, completely different from anything mundane in this world… a truly unique "human."

If she wanted to win his heart, she would have to be even more shameless. Far more shameless than this, Kiara!!!

The girl clenched her fists tightly.

"Yaobikuni: I'm really, truly sorry!"

"Yaobikuni: I said something strange just now. I'm so embarrassed… please forget all about it, (_ _;)."

"Yaobikuni: And, um… would you keep being my chat partner from now on, Nameless-sama? (°▽°)"

"Nameless: Leave it to me (´・ω・`)b"

That night, the two of them chatted late into the night.

After that, they kept in close contact.

...

...

The quiet days passed quickly, and before they knew it, a month had gone by.

After three weekends of hard work, the Fujimura Group mansion cleaning job was finally finished.

Shirou said goodbye to the Matou family and moved into a large Japanese-style mansion with an "Amamiya" nameplate by the entrance.
