Chapter 12 - It's life- you're not alone in this

Third person's p.o.v :-

The three of them reached home. No one talked after that. They walked in silence, not an awkward one, just a comfortable silence. Minhyuk knocked the door and Kevin opened it.

"Welcome back guys! How was your day?"

As if sensing their mood, Kevin tried to give them a cheerful greeting. The three of them smiled and entered. Kevin shut the door behind them and went to the kitchen.

The three of them sat on the couch, exhausted from the whole mess at the university, released a sigh of relief at the same time.

Kevin gave them water. They drank it and thanked him.

"So, Jiwoo! I'm cooking dinner today. Tell me, what do you like to eat? I'll make it."

Kevin asked, trying to lighten up the mood. Jiwoo thought for a moment.

"Hmm. I'm actually not a picky eater. But if you're asking, I would like to eat a Thai dish."

Kevin smiled. "You got it. Get ready to bless your taste buds."

"Let's see. I'll go change." Jiwoo stood up.

"Your room's next to Jihan Hyung's room."

Jaekyung said and Jiwoo replied with,"Ok!"

Then she went to her room. She closed the door behind her and saw that the room was set according to her preference, Simple and comfy. Not too much- not too little. She smiled while looking around.

On one of the walls, their was a collage of her and Jihan's photos, from their childhood to their teens and even a photo from last night where Jiwoo was sleeping with her mouth open and the corner of her mouth had dried saliva on it.

Every polaroid photo had the dates written on it. Her smile widened.

She went to the closet, took out a baggy shirt and a long trouser, went to the bathroom, took a shower and got out while drying her hair. She went to look at the photos again.

"Like them?" Jihan asked while standing at the door enterance. "A lot." Jiwoo turned and replied with a big smile plastered on her face.

"Everything's according to what I like. You're spoiling me." Jiwoo said. Jihan shrugged his shoulders. "You're my sister. I have the right to do that."

Jihan entered the room and sat on the bed. Jiwoo sat beside him. Jihan took the towel from Jiwoo's hands and began to dry her hair with it. She leaned in more, her back against his chest, feeling the comfortable warmth from her brother, who has always been a parent figure to her.

"Jihan oppa!" She called out. "Yes, Jiji?" He asked while rubbing the towel on her head. More like massaging her head now. So, that she'll sleep comfortably.

"You know about my situation, right?" She asked and Jihan sighed. "Yeah! I'm sorry! I was worried. So, I asked Minhyuk and Jaekyung." Jihan replied truthfully.

"Don't be sorry! You're my brother, you have the right to know. So, I wanted to ask, is it wrong that I want this to be a dream and when I wake up, I'm back to being friends with Ahyeong?" Jiwoo asked, tears welling up in her eyes but she didn't let them out.

"It's not completely wrong. She was your friend for a whole year. Not only a friend but a best friend. It would hurt. It would hurt so much that you would want it to be a dream. But it's not." Jihan tried to explain.

"My point is that it's not wrong to think like that since you had a nice bond with her. Even though she didn't want to keep it. But when you realise that what she's done is wrong, yet you still want to go back, then you're wrong. You should try to understand that, it is Life. There will be ups and downs. But you should always remember that you have to be strong. And you're not alone in this."

"You know who you have behind you, ready to support no matter what." Jihan said it with seriousness. The gentle tone was gone.

Jiwoo smiled at her brother's protectiveness for her she turned to him, stopping him from massaging her head.

"You know I haven't eaten yet. Don't make me sleep." Jihan smiled upon hearing his sister's complain. "Yes, food's important. Sorry! Your Majesty"

Jihan said while bowing his head to which Jiwoo began to laugh. "Stop it! You know what, I feel much better now. Thank you so much! I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Don't thank me. You in yourself are very strong. You know how to find peace in even small things. Not many can do that." Jihan said while giving Jiwoo's head a pat.

Then they heard Kevin's voice from downstairs. "Food's ready! Come before Jaekyung finishes everything!" He shouted. At this, Jihan and Jiwoo began to laugh.

"Come, let's eat food. Or else, Jaekyung's gonna finish it." Jihan said while laughing and Jiwoo nodded. They went downstairs.

Everyone was already present there. "You both are late! Which means more food for me!" Jaekyung said with a victorios laugh.

Jihan smiled."no, darling! You will not get our food. You'll only eat yours."

At this Jaekyung became quiet and began to eat his food, his head also hanging low, trying to hide his almost red face.

Though many didn't notice, it was noticed by one person or maybe more than one.

Jiwoo sat on the empty spot beside Kevin. He smiled and gave her the plate filled with food. She politely accepted it with a smile.

"I specifically prepared your plate in my mother's style. This is Pad Thai. It's a very common dish in Thailand. It's basically Stir-fried rice noodles with tofu, shrimp/chicken, bean sprouts, and peanuts. Try it!"

Jiwoo listened intently and nodded. Then she took a bite and in an instant, her eyes widened with joy.

"This is, delicious. I love it."

Jiwoo said and started to stuff her mouth with more causing Kevin to chuckle.

"I'm glad you're liking it. But be careful, don't want you to choke on it."

Jiwoo smiled but still ate like an animal to which the others laughed.

"At first I thought I was wrong to think of you like that but you've proven it. You are an animal."
