Chapter 8 - Good Teammate

Thenatos then summoned shadows wolves just like them, these wolves fires were dark and had almost the same power like the wolves, but the real wolves were more powerful, two from the shadow wolf strength combined was one wolf strength.

Quinn was pretty amazed by this type of shadow summon, it was more powerful than any other shadow summon he had seen, all shadow summon were said to be useless but still powerful because of the shadow power.

But for Luke it was not the case, his shadows were powerful. Luke clenched his fist slightly.

He couldn't just stand here, right then, a screen appeared.

[Shadow Element Detected]

[Weapon Compatibility Confirmed, Just Like I Notified Before, You Have Inherited 35% Of Your Summon Powers]

Luke blinked once. "…What?" More words appeared.

[You possess Shadow Elemental Affinity]

[Primary Weapon Available: Crescent Moon Blade, Since You Are Fighting With Wolves, You Can Summon Wolves, With The Same Spell, But Your Summon Will Be Less Powerful Than Your Opponent But Will Have A Good Damage On Your Opponent]

Luke looked at his empty hand. "…So I just… call it?" He didn't hesitate. "Crescent Moon Blade." The moment he said it, Dark energy gathered in his palm, swirling fast before solidifying into a weapon.

A dark blade, curved, just like Thenatos'. Luke's eyes widened slightly. "…Not bad." At the same time, something else formed. Dark threads wrapped around his body, settling into clothing.

He didn't wait anymore, luke moved, fast, faster than he expected because of his high agility.

In a blink, he was already in front of the charging wolves, with Quinn's and his summon taking care of a large portion of them also Thenatos.

He swung his blade, the air itself split, a wave of force shot forward and the wolves in front were torn apart instantly. Blood scattered across the ground, Luke stopped for a second, then he smiled. "…This is actually fun." More wolves came.

This time, he focused, with just the thought, he had summoned wolves made from shadows exactly like them and they charged fighting with the other wolves.

Then stronger wolves started coming and they were at the peak stage of the king tier, these wolves had overwhelming energy and they were bigger and powerful, their fire could destroy thousands of the smaller wolves.

The moment he thought of it, something clicked. He stretched his hand forward, gathering the energy around him. It felt raw, unstable, but he forced it together.

The energy shaped itself, into weapons, dozens of them. Blades, spears, spikes, floating around him. "…So this is how it works," he muttered.

With a slight motion, they shot forward. Piercing through the incoming hungry wolves one after another.

From the side, Quinn paused for a brief moment, watching and then he thought, 'What's that ability?' His eyes narrowed slightly.

Luke didn't stop, he kept forging, reshaping, attacking like he had been doing it for years, but these wolves were many and worst of all they didn't get killed easily, the summons Thenatos summoned, they were destroyed easily.

Thenatos full skills have not been unlocked, so it was still a little hard for him to defeat three of the big wolves at once.

Its mana gauge was like that because it measured the max of its unlocked skills that made it high, if those locked skills were to be unlocked and upgraded it would've been higher, but with it unlocked

Luke mana gauge was supposed to be at the top, but since the system wanted to make the tablet to provide a gauge for him, the system had to exclude his unlocked skills, if it were to include its unlocked skills it would have surpassed 90.0.

Soon, the king tier wolves were gone, silence returned. But only for a moment, a low growl echoed. 10 figures stepped out from the distance, larger, Stronger.

Emperor Tier wolves at mid stage, Luke's expression became serious. Quinn didn't hesitate. "Move."

His knight stepped forward instantly, charging one of them, a single clash and the wolf was cut down, it resurrected itself and two charged at the knight who looked like it was now the fight got interesting.

Thenatos moved next, he didn't swing his blade this time. Instead, he raised his hand, a dark circle appeared beneath one wolf, another above it.

Like two portals, they began closing, the wolf howled, its body crushed between them as the two dark spaces collided.

Blood exploded outward, this time it didn't resurrect and Quinn was actually amazed by the type of skill the shadow had.

Thenatos didn't stop, he repeated it, again, again. Until all of them were gone, silence fell completely this time.

 Luke exhaled slowly. "…That was…"

 "…Easy," Quinn finished.

They moved forward together, deeper into the ruined city until they reached it.

The core, a glowing object floating at the center of a broken structure. "…That's the dungeon core," Quinn said, Luke nodded.

The moment the last beast died, something else appeared, dark orbs, shadow Essence. They floated slowly, then moved toward Luke whose body absorbed it instantly.

 The system then notified.

 [+10,000 Shadow Essence Acquired]

Quinn, on the other hand, walked to the dead wolves and pulled out glowing cores from their bodies. When it was done, he picked up the dungeon core and turned to Luke.

"Take it," he said. "Your summon did most of the work."

Luke looked at it for a second, then shook his head. "…I don't need it."

Quinn frowned slightly. "Then what do you need?"

"…Just this." The core reacted, a black orb came out of it. It floated toward Luke and entered his body, Luke stared at Quinn who had a confused look on his face.

"What did you mean by just this?" He asked still confused.

"You didn't see that just now?" Luke returned with a question.

"See what?" Quinn looked everywhere trying to search for what Luke was talking about and Luke then realized he couldn't see it, "don't bother." Luke told him and he stopped turning his head.

 The system then notified again.

[+20,000 Shadow Essence Acquired]

Luke's eyes flickered slightly. '.. I'll check those later.' he thought and the screen vanished.

Quinn didn't say anything after and he took the core. The next moment, the world shifted, they were back outside, Like the dungeon never existed.

Quinn turned away. "You were a good teammate." His knight disappeared. Then he walked off without another word.

Luke stood there for a second, then he looked at Thenatos. "…Okay summon you did a good job." the shadow nodded its head and vanished.
