Chapter 10 - — Ophelia —

This chapter might be a little boring. I couldn't find the book I wrote my plot outlines so I had to come up with a different plot all over again ( sucks I know )

CHAPTER SIX :

Two weeks had passed since Orton sighted Ophelia in the cafe and he wasn't sure if he should text her - he wasn't sure she wanted her to. He had noticed her uncertainty and restlessness when he sat across her. It broke his heart a little but then again Ophelia had been doing nothing but causing pain to his heart it was almost too familiar now.

Sighing he picked up his phone and for the countless time that week he reluctantly typed a message, asking her out for dinner. Taking in a deep breath he pressed the send button afraid if he didn't, he would never. As soon as it sent, he tossed his phone on the soft mattress falling back on the bed with an exasperated groan.

Ophelia Samuels.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he thought of her. Small and fragile yet strong and sharp tongued. She was his first love - still the only girl he fancied and wanted.

He remembered the first day he saw her. It was the first day of the semester and she had walked into the school gate with a look of utter boredom that seemed to be always stuck on her face. She looked like just being there was a pain to her. She didn't look at him but his gaze followed her. Her ebony dark haired that shinning in the sun. It looked so soft he wanted to reach out and stroke it. Her long lashes that framed those pretty brown eyes and her luscious pink lips that. She always wore a scowl on her cute face when someone approached her, always managing to chase everyone away the moment she opened her mouth … even him in the end,

She was different — he could tell.

She barely ever smiled — barely ever laughed. She didn't look at him the way every other girl did, she didn't try to seduce him or flirt with him. Maybe that was what drew her to him or maybe it was the fact that Ophelia made him never want to pretend. Made him want to be him.

She hadn't changed — she did look a lot more breathtaking than she did in high school but she hadn't except maybe her dressing. He had noticed she was showing some curves and didn't seem uncomfortable with showing that much. She seemed even more confident.

The familiar notification sound from his phone made him instantly scramble for his phone. She had replied.

" Hi " Her text read. Another came in just right after that one. " I'm free Friday. Dinner sounds great "

He immediately typed back a reply " Great. Friday it is " he smiled, a broad genuine smile that hadn't crossed his lips for years. Maybe he had a chance to start all over with her. Make her want to be with him.

" So where are we heading to " Ophelia asked in an attempt to break the awkward and uncomfortable silence between them. Orton glanced at her sitting in the passenger sit fidgeting nervously with the bracelet on her hands. She looked so lovely

" it's a surprise " he smiled turning his gaze back to the road " you look as breathtaking as always small "

Ophelia's breath hitched her head snapping towards him in surprise. He used her nickname. The one he always called her. She hadn't heard him call her that since that night.

" Thank you " she mumbled turning her attention away from him and outside the window. The car drowned in silence the only sound being heard the song playing softly on the radio.

The car pulled over slowly making Ophelia's head snap up to take in their environment. Her mouth opened and closed in bewilderment as she stared at the restaurant in front of them. She turned to Orton.

" This is … "

" Where we had our first date " he grinned taking off his seat belt.

" I can't believe this place still stands after seven years "

Orton chuckled " I know …. Hold on. " he got out of the car. She frowned as he walked over to her side and pulled the door open, with a slight, playful little bow.

" Chivalry isn't dead after all " She couldn't help but tease as a little laugh escaped her lips.

" For you ? Never " he laughed leading her out of the car safely.

He shut the car behind her before turning back to be a wild grin on his face, almost unconsciously he entwined fingers leading me into the restaurant. She glanced at their hands, her smile widening.

" Reservation for Orton Jay " he said to the short stubby clerk at the front of the restaurant who scanned the ledger book on his hand probably searching for Ortons name. He beamed at them as soon as he finds it.

" Right this way Mr Orton. We've prepared everything just as you have asked " he beckoned to a staff member. " Derek will be taking care of you today "

Derek, a tall, broad-shouldered teenager with a lingering baby face, led them to a secluded table. He took their orders hurriedly and disappeared, leaving them alone.

Ophelia turned to Orton catching him staring at her with a smile — not the casual, polite smile. This smile held a lot more and it scared her.

" Ummm " She cleared my throat breaking the silence between them.

" Why are we really here Orton ? "

his smile face faltered a little. He sighed shrugging his broad shoulders he ran his hands over his long hair.

" I have no idea Ophelia …. " he paused biting the inside of his cheeks, he thought for a moment before answering " I want us back together Ophelia "
