I look around the shabby room, it looked like shit. "Doesn't seem like I've been reborn as the son of a rich asshole". I look at my hands. Seem the same, "looks like I still have my old body".
I quickly look and find and jagged piece of glass on the floor "that's convenient." I grab the piece of glass and use it to cut a scar on my arm. It heals in just 1 second. "I know he said wish granted but it's always good to check.
"Now the next step is to learn magic.. I mean it's magic, can't be that hard" I hold out my and focus my mind on conjuring at least something. I felt a weird sensation in my hand, like when you sit on your hand it feels all staticky. Suddenly a bubbly blue energy appears in my hand. "Finally!" I wave my hand around, the blue energy following it. "Hmm.. seems easy as hell.. probably because of my fast learning speed" I said.
"This is probably the most basic form of magic, the more advanced forms might be turning the energy into elements. But this is just a theory after all. Now. What's the most important thing I need right now? …MONEY! All the other bullshit can wait!" I leave the room and exit the house.
"Holy shit.." I look at the world, giant mountains you can see from miles away, large forests, and the most important thing, my house is on a massive hill. That's cool I guess. "Oh! There's a town nearby!" I said.
After a few minutes of walking I finally reach the town, but was immediately stopped guards once I got to the large gate. "Stop! Identify yourself." The first guard said.
"Uhh.. I am a wandering traveler from a distant land looking to make some money" I said quickly making up a lie.
"You need money? Well we have a bounty board you can use to get money" the second guard said. "But before you go in the village please state your name, and your affiliation!" The first guard added.
"My name is Drayce." I said.
"No last name?" The first guard said.
"No sir…"
"Fine, who are you affiliated with?"
"I currently have no affiliation"
"Alright you can pass, we will guide you to the bounty board" the second guard said.
They open the large gate and walk me to the bounty board located in the middle of the town. "Here it is. We have some bounty's available. Ranging from killing a herd of goblins, to invading and griffin cave and harvesting their eggs" the second guard said.
I look at the options and pick one. "I'll take on the herd of goblins" i said.
"Good choice. But before you start the quest, you need to meet your teammate who also picked this quest, who will be assisting you on this bounty" the second guard said.
"Why do I need a teammate?"
"Everyone who accepts a quest needs a teammate who will help them during the quest, but people of higher ranks can do quests by themselves" the first guard said.
"Is the pay split?" I asked since I didn't want to split my earnings with a bum.
"The one who does the most contribution during the quest gets more earnings" the first guard added
"Alright then, can I meet my teammate now?"
"Sure. He is located in the town hall" the second guard said.

After a few minutes me and the two guards made our way to the town hall, where I met my team mate. A tall, beefy guy, he looked to be in his mid 20's.
"Finally, your here. I've been waiting an hour for some one else to take on that quest" the man said.
"Sorry to keep you waiting sir" I said apologetically.
"No need for the sir. The names Hick!" He said enthusiastically.
Nice to meet you Hick, my names Drayce" I said as we shook hands. His grip hurt the shit out of my hand.
"The goblins are located near the south entrance of Alvur" Hick said.
"What's Alvur?" I asked.
"..it's the name of the town?" Hick said with a hint of curiosity in his voice due to my cluelessness.
"Is this guy new?" Hick said to the two guards. Pointing at me.
"He's a wandering traveler looking to make some quick cash" the first guard said.
"Oh. We don't get many visitors in Alvur so it's refreshing to see someone new!" Hick said.
Alright, let's start the quest! Follow me!" Hick said as he exited the town hall with me following him.

As me and Hick exited Alvur through the south entrance I decided to ask him something. "Hey Hick. What's magic?" I asked seeming clueless since I needed more info the power system of this world.
Hick glanced at me with curiosity before he answered my question. "Magic is a energy that is an extension of a persons will that forces itself to manifest in the real world. Don't you know this?" He asked curiously.
"Where I lived they never told us of this" I said, kinda of admitting the truth but also keeping it hidden to an extent.
Where did you liv- actually never mind. It's not my business" he said as we kept walking towards the location where the goblins are.
"What else can you do with magic?" I asked
"This" he said as he held out his hand and suddenly an axe made of pure magic energy formed in his hand.
"Woah. How did you do that?" I asked obviously curious.
"Like I said, magic is just your will manifested in the real world, it all depends on how strong your will is, it also correlates to how much magic aptitude you have" Hick said.
"Im getting kind of confused?" I said.
"Your magic aptitude is also your will, however strong your will is, is how much magic aptitude you have. Simple as that" Hick said.
'Good thing I wished for the highest magic' I thought.
"So I could theoretically make weapons out of thin air?" I said to Hick.
"If your will is strong enough, but even then it takes a while to conjure one" Hick said.
I hold out my hand and focus on making something simple like.. a sword?
