Her whole body trembled as soon as she stepped out of the garden. The fury coursing through her felt vivid, spreading to every inch of her being. She didn't try to hide it, nor did she attempt to control it. The emotion was overwhelming, mingled with a sharp, twisting disgust that churned in her stomach and made her skin crawl.

She tried.

She really tried to hold herself together, even knowing he had been mocking her.

She knew that when he asked Tara to leave, it meant the conversation would be one-sided.

She knew she had to endure it, to minimize the consequences of the choices she had made.
