In the underground basement of the villa, a hundred-square-meter space was filled with various instruments. Suzuki Yoko was assembling computers here and installing her self-written software to prevent hackers from stealing data.
Eddie extracted some of Lisa's blood for analysis, with the team's medic, Bertha, assisting. She was clearly curious about this new type of organism and eager to try new drugs.
Rebecca already knew about Lisa's tragic experience; she couldn't imagine how a girl could endure various serum experiments for thirty years!
"Her blood is very strange; it seems to devour everything, integrating many things. I even found components like heroin!" Eddie's expression was grave.
"I see she's delirious and keeps repeating the same sentence. Can she still be saved? Should we perform brain surgery?" Bertha said with an excited look in her eyes.
Indeed, the women around were not normal; their interests and hobbies were difficult to understand.
Rebecca, however, frowned and said, "Eddie, do you think Lisa can still be saved?"
Eddie nodded, "Of course, as long as she's not dead, she can be saved. Have you read the information I gave you about the Sunflower Staircase? As long as one eats those flowers and doesn't die, they will gain the ability to evolve. Her physique is very special, and she might even hold the secret to immortality."
"You're not going to experiment on her, are you?" Rebecca frowned.
Eddie shook his head, "You're overthinking. I'm not that kind of person. Such experiments would be ineffective. She has suffered enough; there's no need for more."
Lisa's experience has significant reference value; her special physique is comparable to Wesker's anti-viral constitution.
The current enhancement provided by the diluted T-Virus is relatively limited. In terms of achievement, it's already quite good, at least able to multiply the combat capabilities of personnel several times over.
However, this is not good enough; it needs to be better. The enhancement from the serum still lags behind ultimate weapons like the Tyrant, and there's still room for improvement. Eddie would not be so easily satisfied.
Rebecca and Bertha had already begun working, analyzing and testing Lisa's blood as per Eddie's instructions.
Meanwhile, on a massive ocean liner by the Mediterranean coast, Jill stood at the bow, watching a fighter jet land. With her brown short hair, the pregnant Jill looked even more beautiful and charming, possessing a heroic spirit that ordinary women lacked. Standing on the deck, she was like a goddess from mythology!
Chapter 116: Jill and Annette
The fighter jet landed, evading radar detection. Christine Yamata wore a unique gas mask, with only her beautiful eyes visible, yet her stunning beauty was still palpable.
"Madam, the target person has been brought," Christine Yamata reported.
Jill smiled and nodded, "Thank you for your hard work. Welcome, Dr. Annette." She already knew about Annette's pregnancy; although somewhat displeased, she could only accept the fact.
Annette walked over in high heels, holding a metal case. "Hello, Jill. We will have many collaborations in the future, please guide me!"
Annette was very clever, but previously she had been engrossed in her work, neglecting interpersonal relationships. She knew she had to establish a good relationship with Jill; internal strife would bring no benefit. She had also been severely lectured by Eddie before leaving.
"Mom!" Shirley on the side also cheered and ran over. It was wonderful to see her mother again, and her mother had kept her promise.
"Shirley, you've worked hard. I need to discuss something first, and I'll talk to you later. Mom won't leave anymore," Annette said apologetically to her daughter.
"No problem, Shirley will be very good!" Shirley nodded her small head vigorously.
"Let's go inside; it's very windy out here," Jill said with a smile, nodding. Only someone with her personality could so gracefully accept the tasks assigned by the man.
"Madam, I'll head back first. The boss needs my help," Christine Yamata reported as a matter of routine.
"Alright, be careful on your way, fill up the tank before you go," Jill reminded her. The other party was an outstanding virologist and not truly loyal, so there was still a risk.
Research at the Arklay Mountains villa had been ongoing for two days, during which Eddie had been continuously testing blood.
"If the parasite can restore her intelligence, would adding a few more have an effect?" Eddie muttered to himself.
The Alpha Parasite is an artificial product, merely a bacterium, yet it greatly enhances intelligence. However, its manufacturing method is rather cruel, requiring craniotomy for extraction, which is extremely disgusting and inhumane.
It seems it's time to find Professor Mueller, the former senior research director of Umbrella hidden in University Town, and learn from him. Perhaps there will be unexpected gains.
"We're going to Raccoon City University, Karena, you come along too," Eddie instructed.
The other three members went to clear out infected monsters near the villa to ensure its safety. The battle-hardened special forces, after training, were able to slaughter these bioweapons one-sidedly, unless a Tyrant 003 appeared.
In the underground laboratory of Raccoon City University, a nearly perfect Tyrant lay quietly in a cultivation tank; this was the Thanatos Tyrant. It possessed jumping ability and regenerative power superior to ordinary Tyrants, and could be perfectly controlled, making it the most suitable Tyrant product, but it couldn't compare to the Ivan-type Tyrant specifically designed as bodyguards for Umbrella executives.
Professor Mueller was still debugging at his computer. After seeing the recent news from the Arklay Mountains, he knew Umbrella had started to act and he had to speed up the process of creating the Thanatos Tyrant to protect him; it was still a little short.
"Professor Mueller, long time no see. I have something to ask you, a question I'd like to consult you about," Eddie's voice suddenly rang out.
Professor Mueller immediately turned to grab a gun to defend himself, but a combat boot directly kicked him flying, and a delicate hand caught the pistol, disassembling it in a few swift moves. The one so fierce was naturally Wolf Mom Karena, who also wanted to showcase her combat skills.
"Dr. Mueller, don't be nervous. I'm not here to arrest you. I just want to ask you something. Umbrella is our common enemy. In other words, we are allies," Eddie walked over and squatted down, looking at the doctor kicked to the ground, saying mockingly.
"Hmph, I've never seen anyone treat an ally like this!" Dr. Mueller said resentfully. He clearly remembered how Eddie had cunningly taken the T-Vaccine.
"Haven't you just witnessed it?" Eddie laughed heartily, his expression indeed a bit like a small person having their way.
"Hmph, what are you doing here, to mock me?" Dr. Mueller said, frowning in displeasure.
"I'm here to consult you on something. If someone is infected with multiple viruses, loses their sanity, and then regains a bit of sanity due to some drug, how can their sanity be fully restored at that point?" Eddie asked.
"Hmph, you're talking about that test subject, aren't you! Didn't that woman die?" As a senior research director, Dr. Mueller naturally knew of Lisa's existence.
"You know and you still ask? Is there a solution?" Eddie continued to ask.
"It's not impossible. Give her more brain supplements; perhaps it will work. The Alpha Parasite is extremely expensive to produce, and its effectiveness is difficult to maintain. If you have the means, you might as well use more on her. Things that enhance a Tyrant's intelligence would also be effective on her, but to what extent, that's unknown," Dr. Mueller said casually.
"I'm talking business with you; I'm not joking," Eddie said, frowning, his tone a bit unfriendly.
Dr. Mueller didn't want to get beaten again. Once his Tyrant was ready, he would definitely give this guy a hard time. "I'm not joking either. You can try it. That woman lost her sanity thirty years ago. The fact that she's regained a bit now is due to her obsession. If you can revive her mother, perhaps there's still hope."
"Is it that simple? Just seeing her mother?" Eddie was skeptical of this claim.
"Of course it's effective. You should know what cerebral congestion and memory stimulation are. Stimulate her most persistent obsession. If her cerebral blood circulation is insufficient, stimulating it might help. She might remember everything, but remembering those not-so-good memories could lead to signs of a rampage," Dr. Mueller spoke fluently.
As expected of a senior research director, the one who used instruments to erase Suzuki Yoko's memory must have a certain level of knowledge to be a director!
Eddie sat on the sofa, tapping rhythmically with his right hand, seemingly deep in thought. "That's impossible then. It seems we can only give up on treatment. By the way, you said the vaccine still works on those infected zombies?"
Dr. Mueller sneered, "Of course it does. One dose of vaccine can kill them! Those monsters, the vaccine is only effective in the early stages. If they've already mutated, it's irreversible."
Chapter 117: Rebecca's Loving Dinner
"Is there no other possibility? You are the developer of the vaccine; you must know things others don't, Dr. Mueller. Just tell me directly; I don't want to resort to force," Eddie said, pulling out a pistol and shattering a chemical bottle on the lab table.
"Hey! Don't shoot indiscriminately. I can only tell you what I know. The vaccine is in its initial stage, and it's already effective enough. To continue further research would require a huge amount of funding and a very long time, making it not worth the effort. However, based on my deductions, reversing this process is impossible, but it can be reorganized," Dr. Mueller thought with hatred. If it weren't for the pistol in front of him, he wouldn't have said a word.
"Reorganization? Through genetic recombination? Then it wouldn't be the original person anymore." Eddie was considering the feasibility of this method, but it would require a stable laboratory.
"You can understand it that way. You're a smart person; you can figure it out. I'm just providing you with a theory; I haven't experienced such a thing myself," Dr. Mueller said seriously.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Eddie unconsciously tapped the table with his fingers, deep in thought. In an instant, he thought of a good method that might be implementable. As for Lisa, there was no way to cure her in the short term.
"Alright, today's visit was fruitful. Doctor, let me advise you: once you complete your Thanatos Tyrant experiment, you can leave. Umbrella will not let go of any data, and that includes you and William," Eddie reminded him before leaving.
