Chapter 76 - 76

The so-called Travis Family members, setting aside their noble status, were actually just ordinary people, and ordinary people with incredibly dirty thoughts at that—uglier and more disgusting than average, making one sick to their stomach.

The old man coughed, then slammed his cane fiercely on the ground. "Enough! Say no more! Excella's promotion is halted. Reward Excella one million. Other matters will be discussed separately. This meeting is adjourned. That's all."

This outcome was unacceptable to Excella. She had wanted to acquire more resources and increase her influence to better negotiate with Eddie, but now everything was over. The Travis Family's emphasis on bloodline left her feeling utterly without opportunity, with no chance to turn things around.

Walking out of the ancient castle, Excella's eyes revealed an immense coldness; she was completely disappointed with this family. It was time to seek out Eddie for a genuine collaboration, otherwise, she would eventually be infuriated to death by these foolish people.

Eddie, in Raccoon City, received the news shortly after and couldn't help but burst into laughter, which made Rebecca quite puzzled. Since both were in the underground laboratory, and the lab wasn't large, his sudden, unprovoked giggling was indeed perplexing.

"Are you crazy? What are you giggling about?" Svetlana snorted. She never knew how to be polite when speaking to Eddie.

"Nothing, just received some good news. You all continue your research. Our goal is to find a way to achieve immortality. This process will definitely encounter many difficulties, but don't worry, I'll handle everything." Eddie smiled proudly, full of confidence.

"I believe you, Eddie!" Rebecca smiled sweetly, giving a thumbs-up with her right hand.

Svetlana, however, didn't believe Eddie's nonsense. This man was definitely hiding something from her.

Two days later, Eddie stood in front of the computer, operating it. Jessica's serum fusion process was very smooth, without too much rejection. Her skin began to change from scarlet to pale, which was a very good sign.

Rebecca stood in front of the computer, looking at a brain scan image. "Eddie, her brain cells seem to be repairing. Before, they were all damaged, which must have been why she appeared delirious."

"Using diluted serum for repair, while also increasing vaccine resistance. Eddie, how did you think of that? To use it in such a way. I thought we might need craniotomy, which is a bit of a shame." Bertha shook her head. With blonde hair, blue eyes, and a beautiful face, it was unexpected that her hobbies were so peculiar.

"Your thoughts are very dangerous! Do you like surgery that much? Why don't you become a gynecologist later? There will be plenty of opportunities!" Eddie teased.

"There will be that opportunity, just without the need for surgery." Bertha said meaningfully. She understood very well the difference between women who had used the serum and those who hadn't, where the gap lay.

What was this woman saying? It sounded like she was hinting at something, a bit strange!

If Jessica could be cured, it would prove that with the right method, zombies could also turn back into humans. And zombies were originally humans who had transformed; essentially, they were still the same.

As the serum was fused, the experiment time was also nearing its end.

Rebecca nervously picked up her pistol. She knew that if the experiment failed, the subject might become more aggressive, and injuries could occur, so preparations had to be made.

As the temperature dropped, Jessica in the experimental capsule began to open her eyes, her gaze bewildered, as if recalling something. Although her eyes were confused, they weren't as hollow as those of the zombies.

As the hatch opened, even Svetlana began to stand up. She needed to guard against the subject going berserk; she was one of Eddie's trump cards.

Jessica raised her hands, looking at them, which had transformed back into fingers from claws. Her eyes then met Eddie's. "Me?"

A very strange voice came out, as if she had just learned to speak, a bit unclear what it was. But being able to speak represented intelligence, and only intelligent beings could speak. Who had ever seen beasts and monsters speak?

Chapter 123: Female Tyrant

"What number is this?" Eddie walked over and held up three fingers, a very typical test method.

Jessica looked very puzzled, thought for a long time, and then said, "Three?"

"Correct. All right, you are conscious. Do you want something to eat?" Eddie took the fries Rebecca made and offered them.

This was a vegetarian dish. If she were a zombie, she wouldn't eat vegetables, only meat. Jessica's condition was very calm, and she hadn't shown any particular aggressive tendencies, which proved the experiment was somewhat successful. How successful, however, remained to be seen.

Jessica took the fries. She felt very hungry, so she started eating them, finishing them in less than ten seconds. "Hungry!"

Rebecca and Christine Yamata exchanged glances, seemingly surprised and excited. Their first experiment had succeeded! They had turned an infected person back into a human. This was a very special achievement.

"Rebecca, you two go make some food. The more, the better. Watching her made me hungry too." Eddie instructed.

Jessica still seemed very confused, just quietly looking at Eddie. "Who am I?"

"You are Jessica. We are good friends. You were captured by Umbrella and used as an experimental subject. Because of the serum, you slept for thirty years. Do you still remember any of this?" Eddie took out a photo collected from the Mansion and handed it to her.

Jessica took the photo and looked at it. She could vaguely see how beautiful she was in her youth, with her daughter sitting beside her. Seeing this scene, Jessica suddenly clutched her head in pain. It seemed that the stimulation to her brain during the recall process was very uncomfortable.

"George! Lisa! Umbrella, Spencer, damn it, it hurts so much, my head hurts so much!" Jessica clutched her head, pounding the ground forcefully, actually making the ground shake. This strength was a bit terrifying!

"Stop for a moment, don't think about it yet. Let's eat first. Aren't you hungry?" Eddie quickly stopped her. This was too fierce, wasn't it? Did she want to be an excavator?

Jessica actually understood, nodding blankly, and her eyes softened. Because the first person she saw when she opened her eyes was Eddie, she had a good impression of him, and he gave her food; he was a good person.

Having averted the fate of the underground laboratory being smashed, Eddie quickly brought Jessica upstairs. Delta Team members were dispatched to prepare vehicles and monitor Chief Brian. There was no need to worry about Jessica's existence leaking out, nor would anyone know Jessica's identity; they would only assume she was a woman Eddie had found.

Eddie, who had a rather poor reputation, actually served as a cover in this regard.

Originally, among so many women, Svetlana was the biggest eater. After Jessica appeared, this honor went to Jessica. She ate an entire month's worth of food before finally feeling full, without any discomfort whatsoever. It was a complete mystery where all the food she ate went; there was no change in her figure or appearance.

"Is her digestive system too good? Ours isn't this exaggerated." Christine Yamata analyzed, resting her chin on her hand.

"Could it be that the Progenitor Virus's modification of her was more thorough? Didn't Eddie say that in the Ndipaya Tribe in West Africa, if you take the Stairway to the Sun and survive, you gain powerful strength and hundreds of years of lifespan? This must involve ample genetic modification. We'll only know by continuing to research." Rebecca's analysis was quite good.

"Oh? Do you need to dissect her?" Bertha's interest was piqued!

"Bertha, don't joke like that with our own people, unless you want to get flattened!" Eddie said helplessly. He didn't want anyone in his team to have such strange hobbies.

"Alright, I was just joking, don't worry." Bertha said indifferently. She had given everything to Eddie and could completely trust him; whatever the man said, went.

"Jessica, we need to test you. It's not dangerous. Are you willing?" Eddie asked.

Jessica nodded, "Eddie? I trust you." Perhaps it was because she had eaten enough food, her attitude was very good, and she seemed to be becoming more rational.

After an hour of testing, Eddie was a bit silent. The results showed that Jessica possessed a perfect physique. Her strength was comparable to a Tyrant; she could lift nearly three tons with her bare hands, and her jumping ability was greatly enhanced, allowing her to jump to a height of nearly eight meters. This didn't seem to be her limit yet.

Yet she maintained her human form and rationality, unlike Marcus, who was merely parasitized by the Leech Queen and simply inherited memories.

This situation was very unique, a one-of-a-kind existence, making her even more valuable for research. Perhaps the breakthrough in the serum's enhancement effect could be found in Jessica.

However, Jessica used the Bravo-type Progenitor Virus, while Lisa used the Alpha-type.

Svetlana, however, had an idea. "Jessica, right? Want to have a fight? I see you're very strong, and I want to try."

Jessica looked at Eddie, seemingly waiting for his decision, like a good child.

"Her strength is too great, won't she beat you to death, Svetlana?" Eddie was a bit helpless. Why were all women so individualistic?

"Don't underestimate me. Didn't you say Umbrella would have various biochemical weapons? Now is a good opportunity to train. She seems to listen to you very well. If you can get her to accept training, do you know what you'll gain?" Svetlana snorted, offering a high-sounding reason, though in reality, she just wanted to challenge a strong opponent.

"Jessica, be careful. She wants to spar with you. Just don't get angry. Learn her fighting techniques, understood? I'm here." Eddie turned and said. He was somewhat excited by what Svetlana said. Didn't this mean he would get a super bodyguard?

A bodyguard comparable to an Ivan-type Tyrant? And easy to maintain, with low costs.

The two women's confrontation was very brief. At first, Svetlana could still suppress Jessica with her exquisite fighting techniques. As Jessica continuously took hits and learned, she quickly picked up Svetlana's techniques and then used her immense strength to suppress her in return. If not for Eddie's instructions, she probably would have beaten Svetlana through the floor.

"Alright, stop fighting." Eddie intervened.

Jessica quickly stopped and stood behind Eddie, like a bodyguard.
