Chapter 103 - 103

Eddie wasn't surprised. He blew a smoke ring and said, "Give me a reason."

Moira frowned at the smell of smoke. She didn't actually like men smoking. "I can join your team. I'm very capable. I'm an excellent marksman, and you need talent like mine."

Karena, however, chuckled, "In my squad, everyone is a marksman."

"And I'm very familiar with you, I'll be very loyal, won't I, Jill!" Moira started calling for backup.

Jill was a bit troubled when she heard this, mainly because her husband's demands were a bit excessive. The original fifteen-year term had been changed to twenty years. Wasn't this going to waste a woman's best years? "Moira, you need to think this through. For something like this, I think you'd best discuss it with Barry. Twenty years is no small number; by then, you might be almost forty!"

Moira shook her head and said firmly, "I'll make my own decisions about my own affairs. I also want to become stronger. I don't want to always be saved; I want to save others too!"

"Alright, my dear, just agree to it." Jill thought for a moment and then agreed. She was Eddie's lawfully wedded wife, after all. They even had their marriage certificate; all that was left was to hold a wedding banquet.

"I'm just about to go to The Hive Laboratory. You can come along. Wait, I still need a little more time." Eddie thought about it and decided to call up Cindy, the waitress from the bar, and her good friend Becca. Anyway, they couldn't escape, and even though they were weak women, they did quite well. So, it was happily decided.

As they walked downstairs from the apartment building, they saw Katherine, who had just returned from grocery shopping. "Eddie, are you busy again? Are you coming home for dinner tonight?"

Eddie shook his head, then thought of something. "Oh, right, you come with me. There's a good thing for you."

Everyone put on their trench coats and entered the underground research facility from Umbrella's company. With Ms. Alex's guarantee, Eddie's authorization was never revoked.

Upon arriving at the underground research facility, Eddie commandeered a laboratory originally used for cultivating Hunters, instructing the women to clean and disinfect it. There were ten cryogenic culture tanks there, making it the most practical laboratory, much larger than Eddie's own.

Daniel, the head of the research facility, quickly found Eddie. "What are you doing bringing these people here?"

"I'm conducting experiments under Ms. Alex's orders. Do you want to participate? Well, you can't, hehe, these treasures are all mine. Go back and play with your G-Virus. We'll see whose research is more impressive then!" Eddie snorted arrogantly.

"I'm currently in charge of the Tyrant series. Heh heh, you can play around on your own. If you get yourself killed, the Waste Disposal Plant is still recovering and not yet operational." Daniel sneered, too. What was there to be proud of for a mere bootlicker!

Chapter 170: Taking Svetlana to Steal

"I'm very well, thank you. Is everyone back? When is it?" Jill smiled.

"Probably in three days. Edward's flight isn't that fast. I still need to pick up my old friend first, then we'll all get together. That's all for now." Barry said with a laugh. He was there to pick up Robert's family, and staying with his family would be safer.

At this moment, two armed helicopters bearing Umbrella's insignia, equipped with heavy machine guns, flew in from outside Raccoon City. Aboard the helicopters were special forces operatives, all wearing gas masks, well-equipped, and armed with tactical submachine guns.

Daniel led his team to the Waste Disposal Plant to observe the newly developed bioweapon designed to destroy experimental subjects: the macrophage named Night Goddess! This was a bacterial cell that unexpectedly emerged during the development of the G-Virus, possessing powerful phagocytic effects and capable of digesting most organic matter.

A sticky, solution-like cell mass, with countless tentacles, pulled in surrounding zombies and Hunters, slowly engulfing and digesting them. It devoured them at a visible rate, and its nucleus grew larger and larger.

From engulfment to complete digestion, it only took two hours, and simply digesting zombies only required twenty minutes.

"That's enough. Initiate the second step." Daniel nodded as he watched.

The Waste Disposal Plant staff opened a passage, releasing unique gas and sulfuric acid to partially decompose the macrophage, preventing this digestive weapon from losing control. The cell's growth was periodically weakened, ensuring it maintained a relatively consistent size.

This would greatly improve the Waste Disposal Plant's efficiency. All they had to do was throw in the waste, and the cell would devour it itself, even more powerful than a painless abortion.

"Excellent, do it that way. Make sure to weaken it periodically. Do well, and I'll apply for a raise for all of you!" Daniel instructed, checking his watch. He needed to go back and check on the progress of his latest Fossil Tyrant, model 04.

Meanwhile, in the Arklay Mountains, General Morgan dispatched a portion of Marine soldiers to search for a hidden passage in a deserted facility. This passage led to The Hive Laboratory located underground. The underground research facility in Raccoon City and The Hive Laboratory beneath the Arklay Mountains were interconnected, allowing travel back and forth via a special train, and both had unique passages leading to the surface.

A Marine captain radioed, "Dr. William, we have reached the abandoned gas station in the Arklay Mountains. How do we get to The Hive Laboratory now?"

"Do you see the statue in the gas station office? Rotate the statue, and you'll find a secret door. Go through there, take the elevator down, then take the tram to the underground research facility. I'm here." The William clone operated according to the chip instructions in his mind.

All of this was arranged by William, using the principle of controlling Tyrants to control the clone.

Soon, the Marines discovered the secret door and descended in batches via elevator to The Hive Laboratory. This was still some distance from the actual Hive Laboratory, but a subway train could be seen in the distance, which could take them to the underground research facility.

At the Raccoon City Underground Research Facility, eighty percent of the researchers had been transferred, leaving only a few less important ones.

Half of the transferred researchers were sent to the Caucasus Research Branch, while the other half were dispersed among various research branches, with some also going to support Ms. Alex's experimental research.

At this time, the research facility could be said to be almost deserted, as the G-Virus had already completed its development. The next step was to find test subjects and improve it based on the data.

Spencer valued the G-Virus, but given that it had not yet shown any benefit for his immortality, its importance was overshadowed by Ms. Alex's research project.

However, Ms. Alex merely arranged for personnel to clone Spencer's duplicates, testing them in the state of elderly individuals to see if the appropriate dosage could have the desired effect on Spencer. She herself took a combat plane to the Antarctic Research Facility, the former genius Alexia's place of demise.

Ms. Alex's goal was to find the Veronica Virus and help her husband collect various different research in advance. Only with preparation could they embark on the path to immortality.

Ms. Alex, already possessing superhuman strength and physique, did not believe that a small Antarctic Research Facility could hinder her. And in fact, it was as she had predicted; she easily infiltrated the research facility, found the remaining Veronica Virus, but did not discover Alexia, who was sleeping underground, waiting to awaken after fifteen years.

Eddie was still in The Hive Laboratory. He had already sealed off The Hive Laboratory, preparing a large amount of food in advance, using Ms. Alex's name. Even Daniel couldn't stop or hinder him, as Ms. Alex's research project was to improve Spencer's aging physical condition. This was akin to racing against death, and Spencer would not allow anyone to interrupt the progress of his project.

Whoever didn't let him live, he would make them die!

Looking at Katherine, Moira, and the other women already in cryogenic hibernation, Eddie began searching for the underground research facility map on the computer, using Ms. Alex's highest authorization. The server room containing the supercomputer was a company secret; the map he found last time clearly indicated insufficient authorization.

"Found it, in the northwest. We'll go get the main computer when we have time. With that, I can accurately calculate the formula for the second serum." Eddie's eyes were also a bit fervent. Besides facing Jill, his beautiful wife, only immortality could pique his interest.

"Shouldn't we worry about them?" Svetlana raised her head.

"It's very safe here. I'll leave Lisa to watch over them. Lisa, besides our own people, including Jill and them, if any other men, women, or monsters come in, don't be polite. Kill all the monsters and capture the people." Eddie instructed.

Lisa nodded, "I'll listen to you, Eddie."

Eddie finished speaking and led the others out. As soon as they exited The Hive Laboratory door, they saw a chaotic scene!

Chapter 171: Premonition of Crisis, Hunk the Grim Reaper

Before them, researchers lay dead, some even severed in half, clearly killed by some kind of monster. In the distance, there was also machine gun fire, but it didn't sound like it was against Hunters; rather, it seemed to be targeting humans?

"Don't kill me! Ah!" A man's scream came, followed by the sound of bones shattering.

Svetlana picked up her pistol. Something seemed to have gone wrong here. Eddie closed the door tightly, making sure no one could enter. Although there was Lisa inside, who could defeat a berserk Tyrant, they still needed to be careful because Moira and the others were very vulnerable and needed protection.

"Don't mind them, let's go north." Eddie said, picking up his pistol and walking forward.

Along the way, there were scenes of white-coated researchers brutally killed. Had some kind of terrorist attack occurred here? Occasionally, two-meter-tall Hunters could be seen flashing by.

Da da da! Gunfire erupted ahead, along with the sound of grenades exploding. It seemed someone had engaged in battle. It was unclear if they were Umbrella security guards, but those guards at most were equipped with pistols and shotguns, not submachine guns.

Eddie arrived at a corridor and saw a tiered hall ahead. Well-equipped Umbrella special operations forces were fighting a team of mercenaries. The mercenaries were guarding a large door, preventing anyone from breaking through.

"Has Umbrella sent people to retrieve William's G-Virus?" Eddie wondered.

"Should we fight?" Svetlana asked, her eyes a bit fervent. She yearned to unleash some killing in the bullet-ridden battlefield.

"Calm down, beautiful. If you can't suppress the side effects, you can ask me for help. I don't mind." Eddie said with a wicked grin.

"Go to hell!" Svetlana snorted, not responding.

The special operations forces in front of them were indeed very strong, skillfully hiding behind cover, and then peeking out to attack based on the enemy's return fire frequency. After five minutes of engagement, several of the mercenaries opposite had been killed, while they themselves were unharmed.
