Chapter 154 - 154

After a five-minute delay, Caroline felt a hint of pressure; the Tyrant's speed was increasing.

Caroline, focused, noticed that the strange mud monster, previously torn apart behind them, was re-forming and approaching.

Caroline parried the Fossil Tyrant's backhand swing, skillfully using its momentum to execute a backflip, covering over ten meters, and landing safely.

She pulled out a grenade, threw it, and simultaneously used her assault rifle to shoot down a large, loosely fastened iron chain above.

The iron hook, falling from twenty meters high with gravity's acceleration, arced perfectly, knocking the charging Fossil Tyrant away, and in the process, the Nyx was also sent flying by the Tyrant.

Caroline was genuinely grateful to Eddie at this moment, grateful for his trust, which had given her unprecedented enhancements.

Otherwise, she might have died; the power of such a humanoid weapon was something no special forces soldier could contend with, even so-called elites would be instantly killed.

Sienna, who had fled to the filtration room, was still worried, but Caroline quickly caught up.

"You're not dead? My god, how did you do it!"

"Now is not the time for questions; we need to get out of here quickly.

Harley, if you can still run, get up now." Jettingham gave his team members emergency treatment.

"I'm fine." Harley struggled to his feet.

Everyone retreated towards the high platform, wanting to leave.

They could either exit through the recently damaged main gate, or cut the electric fence from the high platform and leave, or plant bombs near the electric fence to blast through the wall for a smooth escape.

Passing through the staff lounge, Marissa suddenly shouted, "Stop, don't go, it's an ambush, these are special tripwire bombs."

The bombs here were laid by Ada, a casual placement to prevent pursuers.

Even Aunt Wang's casual work, without professional bomb disposal skills and a protagonist's halo, would still result in death by explosion.

Chapter 256: Umbrella's Pursuit

Marissa was a professional bomb disposal expert; despite her young age of only twenty-three, in the field of explosives, even experts might not be more skilled than her.

She took out her bomb disposal tools and began disarming the bomb Ada had set.

Marissa's movements were meticulous; she knew this couldn't be rushed.

One slight mistake, and death awaited her.

Fortunately, the bomb Ada left behind wasn't complicated; Marissa only took a minute to disarm it.

Caroline received a text message: "Outside, there's a Tyrant infected by a parasite, skilled at lurking underground.

Be careful!

Signed: Your Man."

After seeing the message, Caroline suddenly smiled.

This made Sienna a little confused; why was her best friend laughing? There must be something going on!

Besides Caroline, no one else noticed this.

Just then, General Morgan's voice came through Jettingham's earpiece: "Echo Six Team, your latest mission is to leave Raccoon City with the vaccine samples and data."

"Received, General.

The Guard is in a tough fight.

The Umbrella researchers we found earlier, one is dead, one escaped.

And the Fossil Tyrant has gone berserk!" Jettingham reported truthfully.

"I already know.

You've done well.

Your chance for atonement is to bring back the vaccine.

That's all." General Morgan hung up the communication after speaking.

Federal Guard? Most were from families, but a small number were not, and General Morgan was one of them.

He was eager to see the families bleed; that organization was too large within the Federation, and if he wanted to climb higher, he could only find another way.

"Our mission has been changed to leaving Raccoon City with the samples; let's go now," Jettingham told his team members.

Caroline had already set up the tactical rappel.

"Then let's go.

I'll go down and find a car."

"Wait, I'll go with you." Sienna also jumped down.

Upon landing, Caroline did not head towards the concrete road in the middle; it was unpaved there.

Sienna didn't know why, but she followed her best friend's footsteps, going wherever she went.

"Caroline, you've become very mysterious.

When did you get so powerful that you could stop a Tyrant and escape unscathed?"

"Do you want me to die that badly?" Caroline approached a sedan.

A zombie suddenly lunged out, but she grabbed its collar, pulled it out, and then stomped it to death with her shoe.

"No, just curious." Sienna shook her head.

"That's fine then.

Some things can't be explained clearly, and it's best you don't know.

Knowing too much won't do you any good.

After this, I plan to apply for retirement." Caroline opened the car door and started the engine.

"Me too.

It's really boring here." Sienna nodded.

She actually didn't want to stay any longer.

The longer she stayed, the deeper her feelings would become, making it very difficult to leave later.

In the abandoned processing plant, the battle between the Nyx and the Fossil Tyrant affected Wesker's hiding place.

Their fight almost demolished an entire floor, and unable to support the weight, the building collapsed.

The supporting concrete pillars were all broken.

This exaggerated strength, appearing in a biological entity, was incredibly unbelievable.

Wesker felt quite unlucky recently; his data collection was going well, yet he was still affected.

Just as he was about to move, a burst of submachine gun fire rang out.

It was Umbrella's most elite private armed force, the Special Operations Unit!

"Comrade, enjoy your contest with top-tier weapons.

Don't try to escape.

There are ten snipers aiming at you.

If you don't want to be riddled with holes, just play nicely inside.

Have fun!" Sergei appeared again, clearly giving special attention to his thorn in the side.

"Sergei, you old coot!" Wesker's eyes turned crimson.

He swore that if he ever left Raccoon City, the first person he would settle scores with would be that old coot Sergei!

"After dealing with you, there's another rat to take care of.

Don't let the Chairman die, hehe, the only two survivors." Sergei turned and left after speaking.

Naturally, others would collect combat data and observe Wesker.

The other rat Sergei mentioned was, of course, Eddie, a distant relative of Marcus.

After learning of Marcus's death, he certainly wouldn't be loyal to Spencer, and he wasn't a useful pawn anyway, so his death was insignificant.

Even if Alex wanted to protect Eddie, Spencer was already starting to suspect her.

It wasn't that Alex's performance wasn't good enough, but Albert Wesker's actions had made Spencer suspicious, and he would no longer fully meet Alex's demands.

On the highway, Marvin and his group encountered the Guard, who were heading to provide support with special weapons.

They only left a few people to check their identities, then rushed to the abandoned processing plant.

Caroline and the others also drove their SUV along the road, avoiding the dirt paths to evade an attack by the parasitic Tyrant lurking underground.

This Tyrant had already been traumatized by Svetlana, who had snapped its chelicerae with her bare hands—an unprecedented event.

Only greater violence can defeat violence.

It was ironic, yet incredibly realistic.

Eddie and his group had already left via another small road, a country road.

Following this road led to another fork, which also led out of Raccoon City.

However, it had been neglected for years; a normal driver, even a novice, wouldn't take this road, and it wouldn't even appear on navigation maps.

The road surface was riddled with potholes, caused by heavy trucks driving on it for extended periods, a sign of substandard quality.

Eddie, however, was enjoying himself.

He could occasionally bump into Ada and Svetlana, making both women frown, yet helpless, as the road was so bad.

"Eddie, someone's behind us, and they don't seem friendly.

There's also a helicopter in the sky!" Wolf Mom Lupo warned.

At this time, light was beginning to appear in the sky; the darkness before dawn was gradually receding.

Eddie turned to look and saw Umbrella's logo on the helicopter.

"They're not friendly.

Claire, do you hear me?

Borrow Emma's sniper rifle and aim at the helicopter, help me shoot it down!"

Claire nodded and replied via radio, "Okay, leave it to me!"

Claire, with her neat and capable ponytail, took the ultimate sniper rifle modified by Emma.

All its features were top-tier, and her eyes began to focus on the helicopter!

Chapter 257: Superwoman Is Not To Be Trifled With

Bang!

Claire seemed to have a special fondness for sniper rifles.

Her pristine fingers pulled the trigger, and an enhanced sniper rifle bullet flew out, accelerating in the barrel before hitting the helicopter's windshield.

The pilot had initially been dismissive, not caring about such things, as it was high-tech bulletproof glass.

However, in the next second, his eyes became incredibly terrified, because the bullet was still rotating, and cracks in the windshield were multiplying.

Two seconds later, the sniper rifle bullet shattered the glass and accurately struck the helicopter pilot's head.

With the pilot dead, the entire helicopter lost control, began to spin and fall, and finally crashed on a hillside fifty meters away.

The high-altitude fall combined with the fuel tank explosion killed all Umbrella Special Operations members on board; not a single one survived.

"Well done!" Eddie praised appropriately.

"Thank you.

Emma's sniper rifle was modified well; it's very easy to use." Claire smiled sweetly, not taking credit, but praising Emma.

One helicopter crashed, but more helicopters flew over, this time immediately starting machine gun strafing, giving Eddie and the others no chance.
