"There's no time for grief. We need to find a way out and teach that woman a lesson!" Jeddingham said, suppressing his sorrow.
As Chris and the others left the dungeon, they found Alfred nearby, entangled in vines. He was already on his last breath, and the traces of makeup still visible on his face made him look bizarre and utterly disgusting.
"Isn't this Alfred? How did he get tied up?" Joseph asked suspiciously. Right after speaking, he gasped repeatedly; Steve had chopped off one of his fingers, and he was in agonizing pain.
Leon took out his lock-picking tools and started working. "We have to save him. He definitely knows evidence of Umbrella's crimes."
Chris pondered for a moment and agreed with Leon; they should save him. As long as they could trip up Umbrella, the culprit behind the Raccoon City disaster, any price was worth paying.
When Chris used the large axe that Steve had been using to cut the vines, Alfred was rescued.
After coughing for a long time on the ground, Alfred still couldn't believe his sister would kill him. This feeling, like being close to death but not quite dead, was the most tormenting. "You saved me. Do you think I look hideous right now?"
Leon and Kevin nearly vomited. A grown man wearing heavy makeup—how could he not look hideous?
Chris suppressed his nausea because he still needed Alfred to testify against Umbrella. He looked down at the floor, adopting a posture of intense concentration. "You look fine. Everyone has their own interests and hobbies; men can wear makeup too. Are you alright? We need your help. Umbrella is our common enemy."
"Haha, I'd probably die if I did that!" Alfred laughed miserably.
"No, I can guarantee, as a presidential agent, that you won't be implicated." Leon stepped forward and said.
"Have you been infected with the Veronica Virus?" Alfred suddenly asked.
"One of our companions was infected, but he overcame the control, only to have his heart pierced by the vines. Do you have a way to save him?" Chris asked, sounding sad.
"Go to the laboratory. There is a Veronica vaccine there that can temporarily suppress it, but not cure it. My sister is a genius; she wouldn't develop an antidote. Cough, cough, we must stop her before she goes completely mad. The virus will erode her sanity. Help me, please help me save my sister." Alfred said while coughing.
"I'll help you because I also have a sister," Chris said firmly. Seeing Alfred reminded him of his own sister, Claire, and he knew that siblings needed to care for and help each other.
Eddie, recovering after treatment, regained consciousness. This time, he didn't need to rely on sheer willpower to prevent himself from being dominated by slaughter. His strength seemed better; the rapid replication of the virus was replenishing nutrients. There was also residual moisture in the air that he could inhale to supplement his water intake.
"It seems the fusion is better. I wonder if the G-Virus can replicate infinitely. If so, then immortality will be within reach." Eddie clenched his fist.
Ada put on her high heels and adjusted her clothes. "I don't know if that's true, but if you get into trouble again, I'll kill you first."
The four of them left the castle room together and descended into the laboratory. There, they encountered Chris, Leon, and the others who had also arrived, still searching for something.
"Hey, Eddie, you came at the right time. We're looking for a vaccine to help suppress the Veronica Virus. Steve, our former cellmate on Rockfort Island, has been infected," Chris explained.
Eddie thought for a moment and handed over a syringe of vaccine. "This might work."
"Thanks!" Chris immediately turned back after receiving it; he needed to treat Steve.
"Hey, Eddie, good to see you. You always have a beautiful woman by your side; I'm truly envious. *Hiss*. It'd be even better if you could give me some medicine." Kevin said with a wry smile. Ada's face was rosy and radiant; everyone knew what was going on.
Eddie tossed over a vial of medicine. "This should help you. Why is this guy here? Did you team up?"
He was referring to Alfred, the cross-dressing man still wearing feminine makeup, the incestuous brother.
Chapter 346: Eddie's Shameless Backstab
"If you're done, you should leave quickly. I'm also looking for a way out. There are planes in the hangar outside, or failing that, snowmobiles. Right, aren't you from here? You should know how to leave," Eddie nodded.
"I can't leave. My sister is still here. Someone is coming to capture her, and I need to rescue her," Alfred said, his eyes firm.
"Oh? How about we make a deal?" Eddie's expression was playful. Was this man the designated brother-in-law? He had a way to reverse this brother-in-law's despicable incestuous intentions.
Alfred couldn't die; his death would still affect Alexia. Since Alexia hadn't killed Alfred, it proved she still retained some compassion and family concern. This was a good opportunity.
"What deal?" Alfred asked, confused. "Are you sure you can save my sister?"
"Of course. Leon, I need to speak with him alone," Eddie said to Leon S Kennedy.
"Understood!" Leon helped Joseph and Kevin out of the room, then returned.
Ada watched, finding it amusing. "Kid, he meant for all of you to leave."
"Eddie, could you be a little clearer next time? That really hurts my pride," Leon muttered. At the same time, he glanced at Ada, finding her stunningly beautiful. Every time he looked at her, he felt a pang of heartache, as if he had lost something vital.
Ada turned her head. "Do we have to leave too?"
"Of course not, you're one of us." Eddie shook his head. Ada certainly knew how to pick the right time to reveal her identity.
They talked secretly in the room for ten minutes. Alfred's angry shouts occasionally erupted, followed by silence, fear, and dread.
"I've said what I needed to say. The decision is yours now." Eddie handed the other party a vaccine. He originally had other plans, but seeing the change in the situation, he immediately changed his mind.
"Don't lie to me. How could you have researched it so quickly?" Alfred's expression was highly distrustful.
"Alex is my person. She came to the Antarctic Research Facility long ago and found the Veronica Virus. My goal is to produce a vaccine to prevent the Raccoon City tragedy from happening again. It's also to make money and continue my plan. My plan is ridiculous; you don't need to know it." Eddie took out a cigarette and lit it.
"You and Alex? Hmph, that woman is no good person. Everyone has been fooled by her." Alfred picked up the vaccine vial and left.
Outside the facility, a large number of helicopters were parked. Waves of Marine Corps members disembarked, along with mercenaries dispatched by the Pharmaceutical Association.
A tall, stunning beauty disembarked from a helicopter, her golden hair obscuring her beautiful eyes. Even in the Antarctic environment, where temperatures dropped to minus forty degrees Celsius, she didn't need a down jacket. This woman was Rachel, Eddie's spy within the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission.
Sheila and Parker also followed, stomping their feet repeatedly upon landing. "Boss, how are you not cold at all?"
"Only those who are not strong enough and lack firm willpower fear the cold," Rachel smiled. The half of her face obscured by her hair made her look very mysterious. Her skin was smooth, not at all like a female agent who spent years in warfare.
The two men were speechless at her words. Listening closely, why did it sound strange? Perhaps this was just the demeanor of a powerful woman!
This operation was jointly commanded by the Navy and the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission. Rachel was not the commander; she was only there to execute the mission of seizing evidence of Umbrella's crimes and collecting the Veronica Virus.
The commander was a white military officer named Neil, a subordinate arranged by General Morgan and also an admirer of General Morgan.
"Attack! All squads proceed according to orders! Move out! Destroy Umbrella's stronghold and bring peace to the world!" Neil shouted.
The well-equipped special operations teams continuously advanced, covering each other. The assault rifles they carried were equipped with grenade launchers, allowing for rapid heavy firepower strikes.
In the underground laboratory, Alexia watched the advancing Federation soldiers via surveillance, sneering, "How foolish. Do they think they can defeat me with those weapons? They are courting death!"
Her flawless fingers tapped on a keyboard. Meanwhile, the chains in a certain secret room were unlocked. A bald man, his eyes covered by metal and his hands bound, sat upright in a chair.
The front of this bald man had an exposed weak spot, revealing his constantly beating heart. This was Alexander, the sixth generation head of the Ashford family, who had been imprisoned and experimented on fifteen years ago. He was currently using force to push away an axe embedded in the wall that was suppressing him.
Alexia was clearly preparing to send Alexander out to fight. Despite being a failed experiment, his survival after fifteen years showed Alexia the formidable nature of the Veronica Virus.
*Dong!* A knock sounded at the door. Alfred asked, "Alexia, I have a vial here that can suppress the Veronica Virus from raging out of control. It's the result of my research over the past fifteen years. I would be very happy if it could help you."
Alexia controlled thin vines to immediately take the medicine and examine it before her eyes. Her sapphire-like eyes scrutinized it carefully. "You developed this? Heh heh, that was thoughtful of you. Did you do that on purpose?"
Alfred raised his hands, making a gesture of fear. "No, it's just a small compensation and an emergency measure. Alexia, we should leave this place first. Umbrella has collapsed, and we need to start over."
Alexia scoffed, "That's you. I am destined to become the queen of this world, and this is my first step toward becoming queen. Now, get out. Get far away from here. I don't want to see you. If I see you again, I will kill you."
