She deeply resented Umbrella for causing all of this, and the Western Federation within could not completely distance itself. Hiding the truth could indeed bring stability, but it would never bring peace. Once this pandora's box was opened, it could not be closed.
"Oh, oh! It's my goddess Alyssa! My God, is it Raccoon City again?"
"Just for my goddess, I will support her! Protest! March!"
"Don't be fooled, that woman might just be getting paid to slander. Hmph, what a bitch."
There was both agreement and doubt. Alyssa's beauty garnered a large number of fans. Were those people truly fond of her? They were just lusting after her body, how despicable!
However, Eddie was also lusting after her. The difference was that those losers couldn't have her, while Eddie could enjoy her whenever he wished.
General Morgan sat in a base on the outskirts of The Pentagon, his sinister eyes fixed on the television. His pale hair and fierce countenance all told others that he was a major villain, as if the words "I am not a good person" were written on his face.
He picked up the phone. "Rachel, you should act now. You are responsible for blockading Kunka Tela City. Don't worry about anything else; no one is allowed to enter. Find the suspects selling the T-Virus in the city. Apprehend them if possible; if not, shoot to kill!"
"Understood." Rachel hung up the phone and said to Sheva, who was still studying, "Come with me, we have a mission. Learning while fighting is the fastest way."
Kaplan also went on the mission, having changed into tactical gear. This time, he was at the forefront, ready to earn a reputation and accumulate capital for his comeback.
With General Morgan's order, the Federal Bio-Terrorism Commission became busy. A large number of soldiers were dispatched to three urban areas to carry out missions, clear out any potential zombies, stabilize the confidence of the city's residents, and eliminate rioters. A man-made drama was unfolding; human lives? Those things were worthless!
Chapter 367: Sorry, I am a Businessman
Earlier, Alyssa had published an article discussing some dirty regulations in the pharmaceutical industry. A drug could only be developed by one company, unless it was a very low-level drug, like cold remedies in powder or tablet form.
Mysterious Pharmaceutical had always focused on researching various medicines that no one else had invented, such as those for leukemia and other miscellaneous ailments. The only thing it didn't research was the T-Virus vaccine; that was merely a one-time transaction and not cost-effective.
These other drugs were better; they required daily medication. A month meant thirty days, and the monthly income from these drug sales flowed in like water. Wasn't this way of making money more appealing? Why bother with vaccine formulas? There was absolutely no need.
Dong! The office door was pushed open, and Angela walked in, somewhat angrily. "Eddie, why aren't you making the vaccine? Do you know how many people in those three cities are suffering from the T-Virus?"
"I can make the vaccine, but each bottle costs 200,000. I don't even need to make a profit. But where will the materials come from in such a short time? Some materials need to be cultivated in advance. Do you think my company can do that?" Eddie retorted.
Angela was stunned for a moment, then lowered her head shyly. "I'm sorry, Eddie, I misunderstood."
"Misunderstanding? That won't do. You won't find a boyfriend like that. You still owe me compensation. If apologies were enough, what would we need the police for?" Eddie snorted.
Angela straightened up and said proudly, "Of course it's useful. I am a police officer. I declare your actions invalid."
"Alright, the Federation will handle this. As a commoner like me, I can only continue to observe and cheer them on." Eddie spread his hands, indicating his helplessness. He wanted to be a good person, but circumstances didn't allow it.
Angela had been a SWAT officer for many years; she wasn't a naive little girl. She knew that everything revolved around profit, and helping people for no reason was impossible. Even philanthropists were capitalists before they became philanthropists.
"Then what should we do? Just watching like this doesn't seem right. I feel a bit uneasy." Angela frowned.
"There's nothing to feel uneasy about. The high-ranking officials and Senators of the Federation will solve this problem; you can rest assured. Instead of worrying about these issues, you should think about what you'll treat me to." Eddie didn't care about the lives of those hundreds of thousands of people. He was an ordinary person, not a bleeding-heart.
If those people died, they died. What did it have to do with him?
Angela frowned. "What do you want to eat?"
"Anything you make will do." Eddie smiled, his eyes focused on the computer screen, which displayed mechanical knowledge from MIT.
As for his own position, Eddie didn't expect himself to be incredibly intelligent or invincible in biology and genetics. With the help of Alexia and Alex, he only needed to propose his ideas and let them help solve them.
Just as Eddie was concentrating on his reading, a call came in. "Hello, what's up?"
"I'm David. I just received a large order, an order from Congress. They want my company to produce vaccines at full capacity. Do you have a way to reduce the cost? I can give you half the profit." David's tone was somewhat hurried; it was clear he was anxious.
"I'll know after I've seen it. Send a helicopter to pick me up now; I'm at my company." Eddie's expression was calm. Not making money when there's money to be made is foolish.
As for worrying about the vaccine formula leaking? It's like saying if you know the structure of an atomic bomb, you can build one. Wishful thinking.
"What's wrong? Do you need me to go with you?" Angela asked, somewhat puzzled. In truth, she hoped the man she was interested in wasn't so cold-blooded.
"Go if you want to, but you might not be able to leave midway. The laboratory is an important place." Eddie reminded her. Dating? No, he would never do such a boring thing.
"I can take leave anytime!" Angela smiled playfully.
The group took a helicopter to WilPharma's pharmaceutical factory. The person who greeted them was Senator David, a major shareholder of the pharmaceutical factory who valued the company's business greatly.
"Thank goodness, you're finally here! This is great." The short, stout David stepped forward and shook Eddie's hand, as if a son had met his father. Ahem, saying it like that actually seemed fitting. When you need something from someone, aren't you like a son?
"Don't be so enthusiastic; I'll get uncomfortable. You're a man, buddy!" Eddie teased.
"Haha, after this is done, I can treat you to the wildest cats in California, haha." David winked, giving a knowing smile that only men would understand.
"Ahem!" Angela coughed. She didn't want the man she was interested in to go to such places.
"Let's go to the laboratory. Saving lives is paramount. Let me say this first, don't renege on your word. You know my temper. If a debt isn't repaid, even Simmons will pay a painful price." Eddie's smiling expression, in David's eyes, was like a venomous snake.
"Of course, I am an honest businessman." David chuckled. He had actually thought of doing that, but after some thought, he decided against it. The other party was a strong individual who had emerged from a living hell like Raccoon City, with even greater power than his.
Just as they were about to head to the pharmaceutical laboratory, they saw their old rival Simmons also approaching with his people.
"Oh, what brings you here? No wonder I saw a pile of dog shit on the road; it was you." Eddie mocked him without reservation.
"Damn it, you dare to speak to me like that? Arrest him! He's suspected of biological terrorism. Arrest him!" Simmons waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to apprehend him.
Eddie, however, unhurriedly lit a cigarette. "I advise you not to be so impulsive, or they might die!"
"You're full of shit! Arrest him!" Simmons sneered.
As soon as Eddie finished speaking, Jessica knew what to do. Perhaps it was a telepathic connection. She and her daughter, Lisa, worked together, using infrasound to cause the Guard who came to arrest them to experience tinnitus.
The two women wore gas masks, with only their eyes visible. No one knew what they were doing.
Chapter 368: Simmons' Goddess is Pregnant
This process of death would be very painful and impossible to guard against. It was definitely the best method for murder, arson, showing off, and slapping faces.
Eddie couldn't use this method, but his two personal female bodyguards could, and that was enough!
The six Guard who had approached all clutched their heads in agony, then died with blood flowing from their seven orifices. Their appearance was incredibly tragic; they knelt on the ground like devout believers.
The sudden deaths startled everyone, and Angela immediately blocked Eddie, her sense of responsibility not allowing her to retreat. She was an elite SWAT officer from Havverville City.
Eddie pulled Angela behind him. "I don't need a woman to protect me yet. Just watch my back. Oh, it seems this proves a saying."
"What saying?" Senator David was terrified and blurted out the question without thinking. After speaking, he realized that doing so would offend Simmons. He couldn't contend with Simmons, which would lead to his death.
Simmons' expression was incredibly grim. "You dare to kill someone? And kill my people right in front of me?"
"He who does evil will perish by it!" Eddie sneered. "Are you sick? Which eye saw me kill your people? Did I even lift a finger? Simmons, I really want to tell you something: your wife is amazing!"
"I don't have a wife! You dare to kill people, huh, this is what you get!" Simmons angrily picked up his phone, preparing to call the National Guard.
