The next day, the morning sun filtered gently into the room. Dylan could be seen sprawled across the bed, rolling lazily in the sheets. He was half-awake yet stubbornly refused to get up fully as he turned over and tugged at the blanket.
But then it suddenly occurred to him that the bed wasn't supposed to feel this empty if someone else had slept beside him.
His eyes flew open immediately.
Dylan sat upright on the bed so fast that the blanket slipped off his body. His gaze quickly swept across the room, searching every corner for Sebastian, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
"Sebastian?" Dylan called out.
No response.
A strange panic instantly crept into his chest because this was exactly what he had feared happening.
That Sebastian would disappear again.
He climbed down from the bed and hurriedly pulled on a pair of shorts and a loose top before leaving the room. He stepped into the sitting room, but Sebastian still wasn't there either.
Dylan checked the kitchen.
