Chapter 90 - Episode 10: The Betrayal

The sun rose over the city, but the light felt heavy, tinged with unease.

Rani glanced at Meera, a lingering tension in her chest. "…I can't shake the feeling that someone close isn't who we think they are."

Meera's eyes narrowed. "…Trust is precious, Rani. But fear can cloud it. Stay close. Together."

The betrayal revealed

During a crucial meeting with their allies:

One of their most trusted friends secretly leaked sensitive plans to the antagonist

The antagonist now knew their next public strategy, giving him a dangerous advantage

The revelation came as a shock, leaving the group stunned and vulnerable

Rani whispered, "…It was… them? I trusted them."

Meera gritted her teeth. "…Betrayal hurts, but it doesn't destroy us. Not if we hold on to each other."

Emotional tension

That night, Rani couldn't sleep.

"…I keep wondering… can we trust anyone? Even ourselves?"

Meera held her hand tightly. "…We trust each other. That's enough. Everyone else… will reveal their true colors in time. Fear cannot break love."

Rani leaned into her, tears brimming. "…Together?"

"Always," Meera whispered, pressing her forehead to hers.

Regaining control

Despite the betrayal, Meera and Rani quickly devised a new plan:

Change the location and timing of their public event to outsmart the antagonist

Use the betrayal strategically, turning the leaked information against him

Rally allies who remained loyal, strengthening the circle of support

Rani felt a flicker of hope. "…Even with betrayal, we're still strong."

Meera smiled gently. "…Stronger than ever. That's the power of truth and love."

Emotional climax

Later, on the balcony, overlooking the city lights, Rani whispered:

"…It hurts… but I see it now. We're unstoppable together."

Meera held her close, voice steady: "…Exactly. Love is our shield, courage is our sword. And we will face whatever comes next… together."

Rani smiled faintly, tears of relief and determination in her eyes. "…Together?"

"Always," Meera replied, softly, with unwavering resolve.
