[!] WARNING: CAUSALITY COLLAPSE IMMINENT
[!] STATUS: THE WATCHER HAS ARRIVED
[!] LOCATION: SECTOR ZERO – THE COLLAPSING NEST
[!] ENTITY DETECTED: [DATA ENCRYPTED]... [DECRYPTING]... CHRONOS
The silver-white light of the Harmonic Singularity was still settling when the air in the center of the Nest didn't just ripple—it folded. It looked like a piece of paper being creased by an invisible hand. A portal, swirling with the colors of a dying nebula and smelling of ozone and ancient dust, tore open.
From that jagged wound in reality, a figure stepped out. He didn't walk; he glided, his feet never touching the blood-stained titanium floor. He was draped in robes that seemed to be woven from the very stars of the Milky Way, shifting and pulsing with a light that made the eyes of the onlookers ache. This was the Watcher. But as he looked at Carel, his presence began to vibrate at a frequency that made the very walls of the Iron Maw scream in structural agony.
"Carel," the Watcher said, his voice sounding like a thousand clocks ticking in unison, echoing off the cold metal. "Kuna mambo yamefichwa kutoka kwa macho ya binadamu tangu ule mfinyanzi wa kwanza aanze kazi yake. (There are things that have been hidden from the eyes of mortals since the first potter began his work.) You think you are a laborer who found a machine. You think this is a game of levels and stats. You have no idea."
PART I: THE STORY OF THE ANCIENT GOD
As the Watcher spoke, the Genesis Core inside him didn't just hum—it Ignited. The blue-white energy turned into a blinding, liquid gold that poured out of his eyes and mouth. His physical form began to stretch and blur, the human skin peeling back like old parchment to reveal a body made of pure, condensed starlight. His face, once human and tired, became a shifting mask of constellations. He was no longer the Watcher.
[!] SYSTEM EVOLUTION: THE WATCHER IS DELETED
[!] ENTITY ASCENDED: CHRONOS – THE GOD OF TIME
"Mimi ni Chronos," the entity roared, his voice shaking the foundations of the multiverse. (I am Chronos.) "Before I inhabited this mortal husk, I saw the end. Niliona ile siku ya mwisho, wakati miungu wengine—ndugu zangu na dada zangu—walichoka na hii creation yenu. (I saw that final day, when the other gods—my brothers and sisters—grew tired of this creation of yours.) They wanted to extinguish the light of Earth-1. They wanted to wipe the 'Silt' of humanity from the cosmos like dust from a table."
He drifted closer to Carel, his eyes now twin spinning galaxies. "To save you, I built a cage. A cosmic prison designed to trap any God who dared to descend into the mortal realm. But the cage is blind, Carel. Haitambui mwenye aliijenga. (It doesn't recognize the person who built it.) Because I have evolved back into my true divinity to speak to you, the cage has located me. The portals are opening not for my arrival... but for my arrest."
Around them, four more portals of obsidian-black energy erupted. Chains made of literal gravity began to snake out, seeking to bind Chronos.
"Siwezi baki nanyi tena," Chronos whispered, the golden light of his body beginning to flicker under the pressure of the God-Cage. (I cannot stay with you further.) "But I will not leave you empty-handed. Hii safari ni yenu sasa. (This journey is yours now.)"
PART II: THE DEMIGOD AWAKENING
Chronos reached out. One hand touched Carel's chest, directly over the Genesis Core. The other touched Elena, Carel's partner, her hand trembling as the divine heat washed over her skin like a hot iron.
The stones inside them didn't just glow; they Transmuted.
[!] SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: BLOODLINE PURIFIED
[!] CLASS CHANGE: CAREL -> [DEMIGOD OF TIME]
[!] ATTRIBUTE UNLOCKED: THE TIME STONE FRAGMENT
[!] PARTNER STATUS: ELENA -> [DEMIGOD OF THE VOID]
[!] ATTRIBUTE UNLOCKED: THE MIND STONE FRAGMENT
"Wewe si msee wa mjengo tu, Carel," Chronos said, his voice growing faint as the gravity chains wrapped around his throat. (You are not just a construction worker, Carel.) "You are my seed. You possess a fragment of my own essence—the Time Stone. And your variant, Elena, she possesses the Mind Stone. You are the anchors of the new world."
Carel felt a surge of IQ so massive it felt like his brain was being rewritten in light. He saw the Multiverse not as a map, but as a living organism. He saw the other fragments of the Genesis Core scattered like diamonds in a coal mine across infinite Earths.
"Lazima upate zile vipande zingine," Chronos commanded. (You must find those other fragments.) "Find the other Demigods. You must unite the stones, or the war for Earth-1 will be lost before the first shot is fired. Hii vita ni ya roho, sio ya chuma pekee. (This war is of the spirit, not of metal alone.)"
PART III: THE RESET – THE PATH OF LIGHT
The God-Cage was winning. Chronos was being pulled back into the nebula, his divine form breaking apart into golden sparks that tasted like copper in the air.
"Nimeanzisha Chrono-Reset ya mwisho," Chronos yelled over the roar of the collapsing dimensions. (I have initiated the final Chrono-Reset.) "I am going back to Earth-1. I am going to be born there as a mortal child. I will have no memory of this throne. No memory of these chains. Nitakuwa mtoto mchanga katikati ya giza. (I will be a newborn baby in the middle of darkness.)"
He looked at Carel with a look of desperate, fatherly hope. "Find me in the dust of Nairobi. Niongoze kwa njia ya mwangaza ili nipate nguvu ya kuvunja hili gereza. (Lead me through the path of light so that I might find the strength to break this prison.) If I fall to the darkness in my next life, the Multiverse dies with me."
[!] COMMAND INITIATED: GLOBAL REWIND
[!] DESTINATION: EARTH-1 – CONSTRUCTION SITE 42
[!] MISSION: PROTECT THE INFANT GOD
"Rudi kwa mjengo, Carel!" Chronos's final shout shattered the glass of the Nest. (Go back to the construction site, Carel!) "Mchezo bado... umeanza upya! (The game isn't over... it has started anew!)"
With a sound like a thousand thunderclaps, the world turned white. Carel felt his molecules being pulled through a straw, his memories of the Iron Maw fading into the background like a dream after a long night of drinking.
PART IV: THE WEIGHT OF THE SHOVEL
[LOCATION: EARTH-1 | NAIROBI, KENYA]
[TIME: 07:15 AM EAT]
"Amka! Wewe, Carel! Amka!" (Wake up! You, Carel! Wake up!)
The heavy, calloused slap on his shoulder felt like a mountain falling on him. Carel gasped, his lungs burning with the familiar, dry taste of cement dust, cheap tobacco, and wood-smoke. He opened his eyes to see the rusted scaffolding of a half-finished apartment block in Eastlands. His boss, a man with a face like a cracked brick and eyes that had seen too many unpaid bills, was looming over him.
"Wewe, unalala mchana hivi?! (You, are you sleeping during the day like this?!) Tuna simiti ya kumwaga na wewe unandota hapa? (We have cement to pour and you are dreaming here?!) Rudi job!" (Get back to work!)
Carel looked at his hands. They were covered in grey dust and old scars from carrying ballast. But beneath the skin, two faint lights pulsed—one gold, one blue—beating in rhythm with his heart. He wasn't just a laborer anymore. He was a Demigod in hiding, waiting for a child to be born who would either save the world or end it.
"Sawa, Boss," Carel muttered, his voice sounding like two tectonic plates grinding together. (Alright, Boss.) "Kazi ianze." (Let the work begin.)
[!] STATUS: LABORER (LEVEL 0)
[!] HIDDEN CLASS: [TIME-STONE BEARER]
[!] PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: LOCATE THE REBIRTH OF CHRONOS
Carel picked up the shovel, the weight of the steel feeling like a weapon in his hands. He looked at the other workers, their faces tired and dusty, unaware that a God was walking among them. He had to find Elena. He had to find the child. And he had to do it before the System realized he had brought the fire of the stars back to the mud of Nairobi.
