The wolf looked at her with a smug expression before releasing a deep breath. Tessa crouched down and removed the chains wrapped around his feet, freeing him completely from the trap. The moment she finished, she dusted her hands and turned away with a small huff.
"Wait up. You can't just leave like that, female."
The wolf transformed fully into his human form, and Tessa nearly swallowed her tongue.

Her eyes widened shamelessly.
The man standing before her looked like he had been carved out of stone itself. Unlike Zane, whose body was broad but somewhat lean and intimidating in its own dangerous way, this one was entirely different. Broad shoulders, thick arms, a chest that looked capable of crushing bones, and abs so defined they almost looked unreal beneath the moonlight.
Tessa's face burned instantly.
