Huff… Huff…
Punk clutched the edge of the table, breathing heavily. The consumption of Primordial Elvish was staggering. For the first time in his life, his magic power had been drained so completely. Though his soul was rapidly recovering, the sensation of being utterly emptied of mana was unfamiliar and unsettling.
Still, the results were undeniable—his magic had not been wasted. The completed flesh golem exhibited significantly higher intelligence. While it was still far from matching a normal human, it now possessed a degree of adaptability.
And more importantly…
Punk brushed away the lingering magical light in the air and stepped toward the flesh golem.
To maximize its vision, he had recklessly implanted seven eyes, stopping only when he reached the soul's processing limit. Now, the golem could observe its surroundings with a full 360-degree view, leaving no blind spots.
Fixing his gaze on the blood-red vertical pupil embedded in the golem's forehead, Punk sensed an unexpected magical property. Somehow, these eyes had acquired the ability to pierce through lower-level illusions.
He extended a slender finger and gently traced the exaggerated main eye, feeling the magic fluctuations radiating from it. Though the ability functioned much like an enchanted eyeball, he was certain of one thing—he had not applied any enchantments to these eyes.
"So… this is another side effect of Primordial Elvish? But… I never intended to enhance its magic."
This unexpected "bonus" left Punk puzzled.
In the end, he simply shook his head. There was no point dwelling on a mystery he lacked the means to unravel. However, he carefully committed this anomaly to memory—he had a strong feeling that Primordial Elvish concealed deeper, more arcane secrets beneath its seemingly straightforward words.
"Anyway, it's time to test this hard-earned creation."
Setting aside his curiosity about the ancient language, Punk turned his attention back to the flesh golem.
He commanded it to step out of the now-inactive magic circle, closely observing the way its muscles moved and the energy flows within its core. He carefully analyzed every motion, ensuring there were no mechanical flaws. Only after confirming its basic mobility did he nod in satisfaction.
"Next, I need to test its combat abilities."
Punk had constructed the flesh golem using demon flesh as the primary material, which meant that most righteous spells and order-aligned enchantments could not be applied to it.
In truth, solidifying spells—turning a mage's personal incantations into self-sustaining enchantments—was a complex and delicate process. As spell levels increased, their structures became increasingly intricate, making it difficult to transform them into self-activating abilities. Even more challenging was adapting spell structures to different magical materials, which often required extensive modifications.
For a novice official mage like Punk, this process was far beyond his expertise.
Fortunately, luck had favored him. Among Walkway's notes, he had discovered four completed spell formulas, already adjusted for enchantment. Though they were basic and widely used, they provided exactly what he needed.
Moreover, while demon flesh was rare, it did not contain the kind of overwhelming magical energy that would complicate spell integration.
Punk selected two of the four spells and embedded them into the golem's body. According to Walkway's theories, a flesh golem of this design should be able to house up to seven spells at the official level. However, lacking knowledge and experience in this specialized alchemical process, Punk considered it a remarkable success to have solidified even two, relying only on Walkway's hastily scribbled notes.
Now complete, the flesh golem's data was as follows:
Alchemy Creation: Flesh Golem
Form:
A humanoid figure, two meters tall, wrapped in tattered linen. The skin is a mottled blue-red, with seven crimson eyes positioned across its skull. Its hands end in red, clawed talons.
Materials:
Flesh of a Fascination Demon, Claws of Flo, Transmuted Human Soul, Nine-Leaf Flower, Ghost Dust, Mist Crystal, Embers of a Spell…
Level:Official Puppet
Potential:None(This patchwork construct still hopes for potential?)
Gender:None(The creator saw no reason to install unnecessary organs.)
Energy:Theoretically limitless, but bound by maximum output restrictions. (No soul is truly bottomless.)
Abilities
1. Combat Instinct
The transformed soul contains a virtual combat module, granting the golem autonomous battle capabilities. It can execute basic techniques without direct guidance.
2. Pollution Demon's Claws
The enchanted claws, imbued with Flo's agony and hatred, inflict a mental corruption effect upon striking lower-level enemies.
3. Eyes of Spiritual Vision
Due to unknown effects of Primordial Elvish, the golem's eyes possess the ability to vaguely distinguish formal-level illusions.
4. Aberrant Demon Body
The golem inherits its flesh's natural resistances to fire and lightning. Additionally, thanks to the Primordial Elvish reinforcement, it has increased regenerative abilities and enhanced durability.
5. Devour
The golem can rapidly repair itself by consuming organic matter.
6. Acid Spout (Spell)
Stored within the oral cavity, this spell can be cast three times per full charge. Each cast releases approximately 20 liters of non-conductive acid, capable of striking targets up to fifty meters away. The potency is slightly weaker than a standard official-level Acid Jet spell.
7. Steel Restraint (Spell)
Stored within the golem's core, this spell can be cast five times per full charge. When activated, it summons durable steel bindings to restrain any object within a twenty-meter radius, provided its density is equal to or less than 13.6 g/cm³. The effect is slightly weaker than a standard official-level Summon Steel Shackles spell.
Overall Evaluation
"An alchemy novice's attempt—an acceptable golem constructed by Official Mage Punk Si'an. Success was at least 50% due to luck!"
Ignoring the rather unflattering system evaluation, Punk commanded the flesh golem to execute a series of rapid tactical maneuvers. It obeyed instantly, moving fluidly through its sequences. Its strikes and kicks carried impressive power, each impact creating loud bursts of air. The turbulent wind roiled through the White Tower's halls.
Punk was satisfied. With this formidable "meat shield" at his disposal, he had compensated for his greatest weakness—close combat.
Finally, he draped a light gray robe over the golem's grotesque frame. From behind, it now resembled a silent, imposing warrior. After a final inspection of its soul and body, Punk gave a satisfied nod. He had a feeling this golem would prove invaluable in the near future.
"I wonder what other interesting challenges await me."
Returning to his workbench, he flipped open Menezi's spellbook. The pursuit of knowledge was an unending delight, and he was eager to dive into the next lesson.
