Chapter 107 - Trophy

Punk chose to examine his spoils in this coal-burning cave. If any of the items contained widespread magical radiation, bringing them back to the White Pagoda without verification would undoubtedly cause trouble in the small town of Nia, potentially attracting unwanted attention.

More importantly…

His instincts told him that the high priest's belongings were far from ordinary. At the very least, they warranted extreme caution.

Evaluation

A powerful robe that provides notable enhancements to summoning spells and offers an adjustable fit.

Punk experimentally summoned a gray wolf, testing the robe's Summon Acceleration and Summon Energy Efficiency properties. The results were immediately clear—this was why the high priest had been able to flood the battlefield with summoned spiders like an unending swarm.

These buffs provided an enormous advantage in rapid summoning.

However, what stood out the most was the Cloak of Chaos.

Punk activated it.

Instantly, a semi-energy cloak of swirling, distorted hues wrapped around his body.

Feeling the potent defensive enchantment, he murmured to himself:

"Primarily effective against energy-based attacks… Physical defense is on par with high-level mage armor. But the bonus resistance against Order-affiliated spells—now that's interesting."

Then his expression darkened.

This was an openly Chaos-aligned spell.

If he used it, his alignment would be immediately exposed.

"Faerûn mages hold too much prejudice against Chaos," Punk thought coldly. "Even if I do use it, I'll have to make sure there are no witnesses left alive."

The realization dampened his enthusiasm, but the robe remained a significant upgrade—far superior to the apprentice-tier set he had been using.

"I suppose I could give the old robe to Bilan… maybe create the illusion that I actually care about my apprentice."

He smirked to himself.

"Not that I expect it to work."

With that, he donned the new robe and tossed the old one into a corner of his storage ring.

Second: The Dagger That Nearly Killed Him

Punk carefully picked up the dagger that had come dangerously close to piercing his heart.

Its dark blade gleamed dully, completely absorbing any surrounding light. A faint, cold aura radiated from the blood groove along its spine.

The material was neither gold nor iron, possessing both remarkable durability and surprising lightness.

This was an official-tier weapon, and its analysis was completed quickly.

Item Name:Sith's Calm(name engraved on the handle)

Type: Double-edged dagger

Material:Mig-Forged Steel

(Highly resistant to heat and strong acids but loses some toughness in extreme cold.)

Imbued Magic

1. Enchantment – Anti-Magic Edge:

Creates a small breach in magical defenses upon impact.

2. Poison – Burning Venom:

Inflicts excruciating pain akin to swallowing molten iron.

Duration: at least 40 hours.

Highly effective for disrupting spellcasting and torture.

Evaluation

"A dagger is a mage's last dignity."

Punk twirled the weapon between his fingers before storing it.

"A fine dagger."

That was all there was to say.

It had been the high priest's final strike—his last, desperate attempt at survival.

Now, it was nothing more than a trophy.

Third: The Space Ring

Finally, Punk turned his attention to the last item—a space ring.

He picked it up carefully with his Mage Hand, eyes narrowing at the complex runes inscribed along its surface.

"A triple-layered compound rune lock?"

His gaze darkened further when he examined the massive flame-red gemstone embedded at the center. The intricate fire-themed engravings made his heart sink.

"Another lunatic obsessed with explosions…" Punk sneered.

This was no ordinary spatial storage ring—it was also a trap.

Someone had deliberately inscribed a magic storage rune onto it, accumulating vast amounts of high-pressure fire elements within the gemstone.

If the unlocking sequence was even slightly incorrect, the stored fire elements would detonate instantly.

The resulting explosion would destroy the ring and everything inside, while also tearing apart anything within a one-cubic-meter radius, scattering the remaining objects into the void of spatial turbulence.

There was no room for error.

Annoyed but cautious, Punk painstakingly unraveled the rune locks one by one.

Even with his expertise in magical formations, the process was grueling. Some of the mechanisms were so intricate they felt like unsolvable riddles.

Without the help of his system's analysis, even he might have been forced to give up.

By the time the third and final rune lock dissolved, Punk was sweating—something that rarely happened.

"That was more exhausting than refining an 'Activation' potion."

He clicked his tongue in frustration. Some of the key nodes had been so delicate that he had succeeded purely by chance.

Still, the difficult part was over.

Now, he just had to see what this ring had been hiding.

With a hint of anticipation, he let his mental energy seep into the newly unlocked space.

What secrets did the high priest die protecting?
