Alexander tucked a stray lock of her damp hair behind her ear and laughed softly. "Well, to thank me properly, how about inviting me out to dinner another day?" He didn't actually hold out much hope when he said it.
But to his surprise, Evelyn Sin nodded without a single shred of hesitation. "Of course, definitely!" A debt of gratitude wasn't something she took lightly.
For the first time, Alexander truly understood the meaning of being flattered, and it only strengthened his fierce resolve to protect this woman.
"Alright, go back and get some rest early. You're working too hard; pay attention to your health," he urged gently, knowing how exhausting her role as the acting president of the company must be.
Evelyn nodded, wrapping his suit jacket tighter around herself before looking up. "By the way, I'll have the coat washed tomorrow and sent back to you." At the very last moment before getting into the car, she suddenly turned back.
