"My name is Rubix.
Zachary's eyes went wide. He grabbed her shoulders tightly "what did you say?"
"What are you doing, let go".
He didn't say anything more, but kept staring at her with red eyes. He shook himself awake. This can't be right. Rubix was dead, his sources had confirmed it. He just hadn't told anyone especially not Damien.
But here Madeline was claiming she was his Ruby.
"Ruby?"
"Not Ruby, Rubix"
"Ok Rubix, where are you from"
"I'm from… from, far away" her eyes darted around not meeting his.
The truth was she couldn't remember where she was from, but she couldn't let this pretty face know or he would have an advantage.
"Far away huh?" Zachary asked with a smirk.
He knew she was bluffing.
Madeline paid him no attention, instead stood up to lift Damien up. Her shirt lifted up making Zachary freeze in his tracks.
He stared at the familiar birth mark and walked to her immediately lifting the top a little further to confirm his suspicions.
