She lunged.
But it felt so slow.
The world seemed to narrow into a syrupy, dreamlike state. I saw the knife coming, a silver arc aimed at my heart. I saw the murderous gaze in her eyes.
And I had all the time in the world to react.
I sidestepped, my body moving with that smooth demonic instinct. As her arm shot past me, I grabbed it, my hand clamping around her wrist like a vise. With a sharp, brutal twist, I torqued her arm in a direction it was never meant to go.
A loud, wet CRACK echoed in the room. Ms. Leopoldo's eyes went wide with shock and agony. A high-pitched scream escaped her lips as her fingers spasmed and the knife clattered uselessly to the floor.
She cradled her mangled arm to her chest, stumbling back.
"How the hell did you move so fast?! You... you broke it!" she sobbed, her voice a pathetic whine.
"Damn right bitch! This is a stand your ground state!" I spat.
