Chapter 11 - 11: Chains of Desire.

The underground ruins felt alive.

Not with movement but with pressure.

Ancient magic pressed against Lyra's skin

like the air before a storm.

The prophecy she saw still echoed inside her mind.

A girl of fire and shadow… loved by three warriors…

She tried to ignore it.

But the three men standing around her made that impossible.

Darius attacked without warning.

Shadow chains burst from the ground like snakes, aiming directly for Lyra.

She reacted

instantly, fire bursting from her palms, melting the chains before they could bind her.

"You don't have to fight me," she pleaded.

Darius laughed.

"I'm not fighting you."

He stepped closer.

"I'm rescuing you."

His red eyes glowed brighter.

"The Guild showed me the truth. You belong with power… not weakness."

Kael stepped forward immediately.

"Take one more step and I remove your head."

Rylan cracked his knuckles.

"I've been wanting to hit someone all day."

The stranger didn't speak.

He simply moved slightly in front of Lyra.

Protective.

Always protective.

Darius noticed.

"Oh I see," he smiled darkly. "You collected admirers."

Lyra felt heat rise in her face.

"This isn't like that."

Rylan raised an eyebrow.

"It definitely is."

Even in danger he couldn't stop teasing.

The tension between them wasn't just about battle anymore.

It was emotional now.

Personal.

Darius attacked again.

This time aiming at Kael.

Lyra reacted without thinking.

She absorbed the shadow energy mid-attack.

Everyone froze.

Even Darius looked shocked.

"You can take Guild power now?"

Lyra realized something frightening.

"Yes."

Power surged through her body like electricity.

For a moment she felt invincible.

And she liked it.

Too much.

The stranger noticed the change in her eyes.

"Lyra… careful."

She nodded slowly.

Regaining control.

Darius retreated into shadow again.

"This isn't over."

Then he vanished.

Silence returned.

Kael looked at her differently now.

Not just attraction.

Respect.

Rylan too.

The stranger looked worried.

Not about the enemy.

About her.

Lyra realized something dangerous:

Her heart was getting stronger.

But so was her darkness.
