Chapter 11 - 11: Moved!

"What's that again?" Luka asked as they stared in the direction of the crowd.

There was a protest happening. And angry beastmen were approaching with their weapons: stones, sticks, knives. There were pig beasts, deer beasts, antelope and other beastmen, all gathered together for protest.

And they were angrily marching towards Sunnie and her husbands.

They soon arrived and stood at a distance. Sunnie recognised the pig beast leader from a while ago.

"What's this...?" Sunnie asked him.

"It's been decided! We're here to cast you all out of our land! Oink!" said the pig beast leader, furious. Everyone joined in a loud cheer, raising their weapons.

"We need all of you to get out of our land! We can't let any of you stay here again! We can't do this anymore!" the antelope lady snapped.

"Exactly! We've been living close to monsters and cursed beings for a while now and it's not been helpful at all!" a goat man snapped. "Get out so we can have peace!"

Luka folded his arms. "But we've been living in the mountains...."

"And you kept infiltrating our land and destroying things at will! We can't live with this curse anymore! Get lost!" someone snapped from behind.

It was clear these crowds were scared of these beast husbands, judging from the distance they kept while yelling.

Sunnie understood their pain to some extent, so she didn't plan on arguing it with them.

"Don't worry. Since you've already decided on it, we'll respect that and leave you all in peace. We'll go somewhere else," she said, though she didn't even know where they'd go.

The beastmen stared at her.

"What are you saying? Where are we going?" Karl asked, annoyed.

"I know somewhere, so don't worry," she said to them in a low tone. She knew nowhere.

The crowd of beastmen stared at themselves and then stared at Sunnie.

"That's more like it!" another goat lady said. "At least we'll be free from these cursed beings!"

"Exactly. Enough of waking up with the thought of these monsters roaming around. It's been a nightmare."

"I think we've been affected by their curse. We need to wash ourselves when they're gone in prayers."

A lady shook her head as she said, "What a bad omen. I wonder how their parents felt about having such cursed children. No wonder they didn't bother keeping them and threw them off."

"Exactly. And now we're meant to suffer by having them close?? What a curse on our heads. Now we'll be free from these things."

Sunnie paused, staring at the crowd who were now shaking their heads and throwing shady insults at them.

These beastmen were openly speaking ill about her husbands and they were using provocative terms that even made her feel bad for them!

She stared at her husbands. They had calm expressions. Or she could see they tried staying calm and pretending as if they didn't care. Probably because they were used to it after years and years of such nasty and inhuman treatment.

But who wouldn't feel bad hearing such words while growing up?

Sunnie saw Karl's fist clench; he was about to act when Sunnie reached out and held his hand.

Karl stared at Sunnie's hand in shock and stared at Sunnie who held him firmly, calming him down.

She nodded to calm him down but it seemed like he was too furious and wanted to act. But before he could, Sunnie spoke up.

"Aren't you all ashamed of yourselves?" Sunnie suddenly spoke up, loud enough for everyone to keep quiet and stare.

She turned and stared at the crowd. "I understand your pain and all... But don't y'all feel ashamed to utter such inhumane words at all?"

She scoffed. "How can you think it's okay making them feel like that? Suggesting that it was good for them to be abandoned by the whole world from their childhood? Making them feel like despicable monsters when no one ever gave them the opportunity to grow when they were young?"

The audience was silent for a while before someone said from behind, "But aren't they monsters though? I mean look at what they did!"

"Society made them like that. You all are the real monsters who abandoned them when they needed you the most. And now they're retaliating to the monstrous treatments you all gave them. What? Can't take it?" She stared at them as she spoke. They were all quiet.

Even Sunnie's husbands stared at her, surprised.

Sunnie added, "I don't want to talk much. But I'll only let you know that you don't have the right to talk ill about them if you don't even know them at all. Because you all made them like this when you turned your back on them."

"... They're my husbands. Mine. And I'll stand by them no matter what. So anyone who dares speak ill about them will have to go through me!" She snapped in a dominating tone.

And the crowd had all stepped backwards in fear. They couldn't believe they were scared of a lower beast, a rabbit.

After Sunnie was done, she turned to her husbands. She could see the shock in their eyes. They certainly weren't expecting her to take their sides like that.

The original host never was that brave to do so. The original host even believed that her husbands were all people said, and so lived her life in shame of it.

But Sunnie had boldly supported and taken their sides. She had spoken up for them proudly. And this made them stare at her, speechless.

Sunnie flashed them a bright smile as she said, "Don't mind anything they say about you at all. Let's go. We'll find a new home and live peacefully and happily there."
