Fiona and Alexander stood beside the towering aquarium glass, the soft blue glow from the giant glass tank washing. Right above them, sharks glided smoothly through the water like silent predators, their shadows sliding across the floor in gradual, haunting waves.
The air shifted between them.
Alexander stole a few nervous glances at her before turning fully to face her, a rare smile cracking his usual confidence.
"I apologise for still coming over," he said quietly. "Even after you told me not to come."
A beat pass.
Her gaze remained on the glass tank as silver light rippled across her emerald-green eyes, making them glow beneath the water reflection.
His throat tightened.
"Fin…" he murmured, forcing a weak smile. "Are you angry with me?"
Only then did she turn, meeting his gaze, the look in her eyes laced with fire.
"Next time," she said calmly. "When I tell you I would rather not see you, don't come running to my house like my words mean nothing."
