Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Yun Yun's Self-Reproach

The Amethyst Winged Lion King stared contemptuously at Pill King Gu He, who was sprawled on the ground acting insane, and said coldly, "It was you who pointed your left finger at my master. Today, I sever your arm. Next time, it will be your head!"

Gu He's Face was pale, and he was completely shaken by the aura emanating from the Amethyst Winged Lion King. He immediately widened his eyes. "This astonishing deterrent force, and that purple flame... You are... a Sixth-Tier Magical Beast... the Amethyst Winged Lion King..."

The Amethyst Winged Lion King snorted coldly, "Since you know who this King is, why aren't you scrambling away?!"

Gu He's gaze shifted to Jiang Cheng. When the Amethyst Winged Lion King tore off his arm, this man didn't even blink, which meant he had tacitly approved everything.

"Who exactly are you..."

"I told you, you are not qualified. If it weren't for the Face of Yun Yun, the Sect Master of the Cloud Mist Sect, my master would have destroyed you long ago."

The Amethyst Winged Lion King slammed its foot onto Gu He's Face and rubbed hard. Gu He couldn't open his eyes from the stench and could only beg Yun Yun for help.

"Sect Leader Yun, save me!"

Yun Yun instinctively wanted to draw her sword, but a large pair of hands pressed hers down.

Jiang Cheng gently brushed Yun Yun's delicate cheek, clearing the fallen peach leaves from her hair, and whispered, "If you intervene today, the nature of this matter will truly change."

"This time I gave you Face and didn't kill him, but next time, I cannot guarantee I will have such a good temper."

"Although I am honored as a Confucian Sage, I am not a coward. I simply convince people with reason, rely on evidence, and do not resort to senseless fighting."

Yun Yun silently released her hand. She blamed Gu He for bringing this upon himself; she had already told him the facts. Yet, he not only refused to listen but repeatedly insulted Sir. Even if such a person were to die, she probably couldn't say a single word more.

But no matter what, Gu He was an Elder of the Cloud Mist Sect and a Sixth-Rank Alchemist. To let him die right in front of the Sect Master—Yun Yun couldn't do it.

"Mr. Huo, could you possibly..."

Yun Yun pursed her lips, unsure how to deflect responsibility for Gu He.

Gu He had already lost an arm; he would only be able to refine Medicinal Pills with his right hand for the rest of his life. This was already the greatest punishment for him.

The Amethyst Winged Lion King turned to look at its master. With Jiang Cheng's tacit approval, it somewhat boredly kicked Gu He off the mountain.

Whether he lived or died was entirely up to fate.

"Thank you, Sir," Yun Yun said, cupping her hands gratefully.

"Miss Yun, you should continue cultivating here for now. Gu He will certainly inform Yun Shan about this, and Yun Shan won't just let the matter rest. Going back now will only cause unnecessary trouble."

Jiang Cheng took a sip of hot tea, his expression calm, and turned to walk toward his room. The Amethyst Winged Lion King also vanished, as it needed to ensure that those cunning people had completely left Peach Forest Mountain.

Yun Yun placed her hands on her chest, her pitiful gaze fixed on Sir's room. Her body went soft until she sat down on the stone chair.

Her pristine white thighs were revealed as her robe fluttered. If Gu He had seen this, he would surely have burst out with three pounds of nosebleed.

Jiang Cheng sat cross-legged on the bed, feeling the volatile Dou Qi within his body. The System's voice rang out accordingly.

[Main Mission Activated. The host is now honored as a Dou Sheng Expert. The System issues a special directive: Travel deep into the Tagor Desert to obtain the Green Lotus Core Flame, ranked nineteenth on the strange fire ranking list. Reward: Flame Mantra, a Cultivation Technique capable of infinite Fusion of strange fires.]

The mechanical voice echoed in Jiang Cheng's mind. Hearing that he was being told to go deep into the Tagor Desert, his expression immediately stiffened.

He immediately widened his eyes and said with a hint of anger, "System, are you trying to screw me over? Sending me to the Tagor Desert? Do you remember how I almost died there the last time you sent me?..."

Eight years ago, when Jiang Cheng was still a Dou King, he received a mission assigned by the System: to gain the favor of the Snake-People Clan expert, Queen Medusa. But that woman was impervious to persuasion, and he nearly died at Queen Medusa's hands.

Although he was no longer afraid of Queen Medusa, he still had psychological trauma, especially from the scorching climate of the Tagor Desert. If it were anyone else, they probably would have given up and split with the System.

[host, please complete the mission assigned by the System. If the mission fails, the System will have a 'Little Temper' and will not issue any missions to the host for three years.]

Jiang Cheng: "???"

A 'Little Temper'... who doesn't have a little temper!

Jiang Cheng almost couldn't control his emotions and cursed out loud, but thankfully he reacted in time. Otherwise, the System would have initiated dialogue mode and engaged in a round of friendly communication with him.

"Forget it. But I won't go to the Medusa Tribe first. I still need to go see an old friend."

Jiang Cheng took a deep breath, maintaining the best possible mood. He couldn't let the damned System control him!

If you tell me to go East, I'll go West!

If you tell me to hit a dog, I'll hit a chicken!

[Mission Countdown: Thirty days.]

Jiang Cheng shrugged. Thirty days was more than enough time. Given his speed at tearing space, traveling deep into the Tagor Desert shouldn't take too long.

"Xiao Yi Xian."

As soon as the voice fell, Xiao Yi Xian's gentle voice sounded from outside the door: "Sir, what is it?"

Jiang Cheng opened the room door, looked at Xiao Yi Xian, who was wearing pajamas, and said softly:

"I need to leave for a while. You and Little Fire should continue cultivating here. If people from the Cloud Mist Sect come knocking, the decision is yours—whether to kill them or let them go, follow your hearts."

"But what about Sister Yun Yun..."

At this moment, Yun Yun was still staring blankly at the small boat, completely unaware that Jiang Cheng had been watching her the whole time.

"Yun'er probably has her own ideas. Just do as I say. If anything happens, crush this jade slip, and I will sense it."

Saying this, Jiang Cheng took out a jade slip containing his Dou Qi from his storage ring. This jade slip could not only alert him but also use the Dou Qi within it to form a protective shield. Even a Dou Zun Expert would not have a chance to break it in a short period.

Xiao Yi Xian nodded obediently. "Mm-hmm, I understand, Sir. Please hurry and go if you have business, don't delay your journey."

Jiang Cheng rubbed Xiao Yi Xian's head, glanced at Yun Yun again, turned sideways, tore open space, and stepped away.

After Jiang Cheng left, Yun Yun snapped out of her daze. Looking at the empty mountain peak, a hollow feeling unexpectedly arose in her heart.

It felt like something was missing... Xiao Yi Xian walked over, gently held Yun Yun's small hand, and said, "Sister Yun Yun, Sir actually cares about you a little."

"Cares about me..." Yun Yun's pretty Face flushed slightly, and she said with evasive eyes, "Why would Sir care about me... I... always make Sir feel disappointed..."

Jiang Cheng had invited Yun Yun multiple times to cultivate with him, but Yun Yun was always preoccupied with her Sect, leading her to refuse every time.

Translating this chapter really pissed me off, Mc is such a f*cking beta. Simping after Yunyun and not out right killing Gu He who was throwing insults and looking down on him. Sigh is it because I've been reading too many young master peng novels lately that my way of thinking has leaned towards killing Gu He? But that guy really deserves to be killed. Sigh I hope I don't regret taking up this work
