Chapter 22 - The Goddess

You stand beside Mira at the market stall, pretending to inspect a bolt of enchanted travel cloth while the gossip swirls around you. Without moving a finger or speaking a word, you reach inward with your genie power — a silent, effortless wish only you control:

"I wish to know the true identity of the Fifth Hero, perfectly and secretly, with no one in this world or the divine realms sensing my inquiry."

Knowledge floods your mind like liquid starlight. No orb, no spell, no ripple in reality. The answer is instant and crystal-clear:

The Fifth Hero is your beloved younger brother — the one you left behind on Earth after the accident. His name is Lukas. He was summoned here just days after you, confused and powerless compared to the others. The Goddess sensed the cosmic disturbance you caused by claiming full genie powers and deliberately withheld her blessing from him, fearing the balance would shatter if she empowered another "outsider" so soon.

Mira feels the faint shift in your aura and glances at you with quiet concern, but she says nothing — she knows better than to ask in public.

Before you can decide your next move, the entire world stops.

Time freezes. The market noise cuts to perfect silence. Birds hang mid-flight. Merchants' mouths freeze mid-word. Mira's tail stops mid-flick, her emerald eyes locked in place, unaware. Only you remain fully conscious.

A blinding pillar of golden light erupts in front of you. When it fades, you stand in a vast celestial throne room floating among the clouds. The Goddess herself sits upon a throne of living starlight — radiant, beautiful, and furious. Flanking her are other divine beings who have been pulled into this emergency summons:

The God of Flame (a towering figure wreathed in eternal fire)

The God of Blacksmith (hammer in hand, forge-smoke curling from his beard)

The God of Farming (simple robes, crowned with golden wheat)

The Goddess of Water (flowing blue hair like a river)

The Goddess of Love (heart-shaped eyes shimmering with unease)

And a small host of armored angels, wings glowing, weapons half-drawn.

The Goddess rises, voice echoing like thunder across the heavens:

"Mortal who dares steal the power of a True Genie… you have disturbed the cosmic order. Kneel before me and swear obedience, or die where you stand."

You look her dead in the eye and speak calmly, without fear:

"No."

Her face twists in rage. She raises both hands and unleashes her full divine power — a torrent of pure celestial annihilation meant to erase gods and worlds alike. The other deities flinch, expecting your instant obliteration.

The attack washes over you like warm sunlight.

It does nothing.

Not a hair on your head is singed. Your genie power — infinitely greater than any god in this realm — simply absorbs and nullifies it without effort. You remain standing exactly as you were, glowing faintly with starlight tattoos now visible across your skin.

The entire divine assembly goes deathly silent.

You point one finger at the Goddess and speak with quiet, absolute authority that shakes the throne room:

"If you interfere in my life again — or in my brother's — I will kill you. Not banish you. Not weaken you. I will erase your existence from every timeline. Do not test me."

The Goddess staggers back, face pale. The God of Flame's fire dims to embers. The Goddess of Love covers her mouth in horror. The angels drop to their knees, wings trembling. Every last one of them feels the raw, overwhelming truth of your words. They have no idea who or what you truly are — only that you are something far beyond any god this world has ever known.

You snap your fingers once.

Time resumes exactly where it left off. You are back in the Willowbrook market beside Mira as if nothing happened. The merchants keep gossiping. Birds fly. Mira finishes her sentence from a heartbeat ago, completely unaware of the frozen moment.

She blinks, sensing only that your presence suddenly feels… heavier, more commanding than before. Her tail curls protectively around your leg.

"My lord… is everything alright?" she whispers, voice full of unwavering loyalty.

The road to the Azure Kingdom capital still lies ahead. Your younger brother Lukas is there — weak, bullied by the other heroes, and denied blessings because of you. The gods now fear you and will likely stay silent… for now.
